  1. For anyone postop on meds..were you able to swallow your pills post op? I take Wellbutrin and Trazadone.
  2. @ Jenny ...so you just go in for surgery with only the night before not eating after midnight? Makes me wonder why Kaiser (and other insurance co) is so strict and makes a person diet for months beforehand? I have Kaiser but Im self paying anyway....in Mexico
  3. What does your pre op diet consist of? Just curious since your surgery is next week and you arent on any sort of pre op diet yet? Im jealous.
  4. ???Need to get it done in the US? Alot of us can't afford to have it done here in the US. Most people on here that have it done in Mexico do their follow ups with their PCP here. If cost is a big factor and for some it is a huge factor, Mexico is the only way to go.......
  5. Its not about the losing...I have lost 100 pounds TWICE...and yet here I am...Show me the people who have lost weight and kept it off..like Ricki Lake...
  6. Im going to Dr Kelly next Tuesday but I didnt plan on talking with him until I meet him in person.
  7. With all this talk about depression I think I will be doubling up on my Wellbutrin.....this particular medicine has done wonders for me. Everyone is different....
  8. I actually take Wellbutrin now for that reason....helps with being anxious or moody. Nothing strong or anything...sort of like if you were pmsing all month, this drug would help you level out. Helps me anyway.
  9. 108 people viewed this post but no one has any suggestions? (scratching head)......hmmmmm
  10. Stupid question I know but what sort of tv shows do they have there in TJ? I have a DVR at home but I was wondering if I will be able to catch a few shows like "Covert Affair"s on Tuesdays? Do I need an adapter for my laptop at the hotel or hospital? Im staying at the "Lucerna" and going to the Florence Health hospital. Anyone watch TV while there?
  11. One plus to having this done in Mexico...the 2nights in the hospital..IMHO. Im glad Im not being sent home the same day not knowing what kind of pain is normal or not. I look forward to the 2 nights in a hotel also..even if I cant order room service.
  12. We will be there at the same time. Im sure we will cross paths. Im having a hard time with this protein drinks plus small salad plus protein for dinner......Im starving.
  13. @ Vanessa Im in Orange County..where abouts are you?
  14. @ Vanessa, What state are you in? I have Kaiser also but opted to skip their long drawn out process and self pay with Dr Kelly. How long is the proces taking you? My aunt and uncle went thru Kaiser and it was almost a year.
  15. This is my worse nightmare...sweets!
  16. I am having my surgery 4 days after my 53rd birthday. I have lost 90 pounds twice in my lifetime and of course gained it back. Im hoping this restriction is the key to long term weight loss. I dont want to spend the last 25 yrs of my life pigging out and feeling like crap after. My only nervousness comes from the pre tests...silly I know.
  17. Im booked thru AlighterMe also.....Im staying at the Lucerna.
  18. Im going to Dr Kelly to on July 26th. I was told the hospital is Florence something?
  19. I will be there on the 26th...cant wait to hear more details about Dr Kelly.
  20. I have had surgery (gall bladder) here in the US and was sent home the same day. Alot of people here on these boards had their surgery here in the US and were sent home within 24 hours. I am having my surgery with Dr Kelly and they keep you 2 nights in the hospital and 2 more nights in a hotel close by where you are checked on and can have access to them if needed. I think this is a better way to go then being sent home the same day. How would I know once Im home if the pain Im having is normal or out of the ordinary and needs attention? I have no worries about the way things are done in Mexico. I would have a problem with being sent home the same day. I didnt like it when I had surgery before here in the US and wouldnt like it now either.
  21. My date with Dr Kelly is set for July 26th. Anyone else going that day?
