  1. I've tried to open chat in Safari and in Firefox and it just takes me to a white screen. Nothing appears to be happening. I've turned off my pop-up blockers in both browsers, so that can't be the issue. I've deleted my Cookies and tried reopening both browsers and nothing. I'm not sure what the problem is. Does the site hate my Macbook? I've never tried to use chat before tonight. Can anyone help? Another odd thing I noticed was that there are no ads for the site in my Safari browser. I didn't even know there were ads until I navigated to the site in Firefox a few minutes ago.
  2. That's not news anyone wants to hear once they've settled on a competent surgeon who they trust, but if he's being forced into retirement (and it sounds like that's a possibility) or if he's having major personal issues that might cause him to be distracted at work (another possibility) then maybe this is for the best. Luckily there is time for you to research and select another surgeon without the need to feel rushed. I don't really believe in signs and signals, I think we make our own fate. I wouldn't let this bump in the road derail you from going through with the decision you've already made for yourself. You've made plans to change your life. You felt that those plans were for the betterment of your health and happiness, why should that change? Don't hang your future on the decisions made by someone else. If you really feel that you can make yourself healthy and happy and stay that way without using surgery as a tool, then by all means don't have the surgery! If you've exhausted all of your other options and you honestly feel that bariatric surgery is the only way to equip yourself with the tools you need to change your life, you owe it to yourself to go for it. I know that you weren't soliciting advice in this situation, so I hope that I haven't offended you by offering my opinion. Good luck.
  3. Whoops! Replying too late. Hope you're feeling alright!
  4. You were told you need 70 grams of protein per day? I was told I needed 50-60. I wonder why there's a difference.
  5. Haha I don't know if my brain, my body, or my bank account could handle another festival like Coachella so soon after Coachella. I party so hard during Coachella weekend and it costs so much... I really do wanna go to Bonnaroo at least once though.
  6. There are certain party favors that you shouldn't mix with alcohol. Maybe that, coupled with dehydration, was the culprit.
  7. Atkins Advantage Dark Chocolate Royale RTD shakes are incredibly chocolatey and actually really good. I stopped drinking them because I find them to be too rich for my taste, but it occurred to me just this second that I could mix them with a little unsweetened almond milk and they would be perfect.
  8. She sounds like such an insecure person. How sad for her.
  9. I always miss Bonnaroo since I live so far away, but I go to Coachella every year. Next year will be the first time I go as a skinny person (if I work this sleeve correctly). It's one of the things I'm most looking forward to. Finally I won't have to sweat to death in too many clothes!
  10. You look great! Love your patriotic nails.
  11. I'd love to attend a meetup. I was sleeved on June 14th.
  12. Oh, that's not me! Haha. That's the woman from the article.
  13. I'm honestly not sure yet if I regret my surgery or not. I'm thrilled with my weight loss, but there are drawbacks. I'm a lactose intolerant, vegetarian turned pescatarian with IBS. I spent a really long time figuring out what to eat, how to eat, and when to eat in every conceivable situation. I'm not excited about having to start that process all over again. However, that's not even the most disappointing part of the surgery for me. What I'm having the hardest time with is the return of my acid reflux. I used to be able to control it through food, but now even though I'm on medication and even though I'm barely eating anything, I'm still dealing with it. This may not be a huge deal to some, but I'm a singer and it's RUINING my voice. It makes me so incredibly hoarse that my range is shot. I can't perform and it just makes me sad to try and learn new music. I guess I didn't realize how likely I would be to have GERD after the surgery so I didn't realize how I would be impacted. My GERD is very mild and hardly bothers me, yet it still prevents me from singing as well as I'm usually able to. It hurts.
  14. I got back into a pair of skinny jeans that I hadn't been able to wear for MONTHS. I don't think I like them anymore, but at least they fit.
  15. This isn't a picture of me. This is a picture from the article. It amazed me! This is a great article/blog entry that a friend linked me to that illustrates a very important lesson that we should all remember. Just because the scale isn't moving, it doesn't mean your body isn't changing! I know this is a message that I need to be reminded of constantly. I'm a definite scale addict. http://primitivestim...addicts-part-2/
  16. I DREAM of getting down to 185. Good for you! I think continued weight loss will be inevitable for you considering all you've learned about how to eat and how to exercise, but I LOVE that you're making the decision to be happy with all of the work that you done and what you've achieved. You've made a tremendous change and your life is forever going to be better for it.
  17. I felt just the way that you do. I was still so weak even 10 days out from my surgery that I had to keep getting in and out of the shower to lie down and take multiple breaks. Once I began eating pureed consistency foods, I got in more calories and started feeling more normal. I'm 3 weeks out now and I feel worlds better. It won't take you too long.
  18. You may know this already since you're lactose intolerant, but there are two GREAT vegan non-dairy cheese brands. One is called Daiya and the other is called Follow Your Heart. If you are looking for cream cheese, Tofutti makes a great one.
  19. I had a BM 5 days after surgery and it was the worst one of my entire life. I hope to never go through that again.
  20. I know how you feel. I was sleeved the day before my birthday. I didn't even have a celebration. I was in the hospital, miserable. You'll make it through. I believe that these small sacrifices will be worth it in the long run.
  21. I apologize, but it looks like I can't. It seems that there must be a certain window of time in which you're able to edit posts and I must have exceeded that. I sent an email to the mod for help so that you can be added. Thanks!
  22. I'm 3 weeks out and I can eat a 5oz yogurt with no problems or feelings of restriction in about 30-40 minutes. Usually when I feel what I think is faint hunger (it doesn't feel like the old hunger), I can just drink some gatorade or water or something and the feeling goes away. If I drink and I feel it again a short time later, I assume that it must be time to eat something. I eat on a very loose schedule. My body always seems to want to be fed at around the same times. The only time that changes is if I slack off on my fluids.
  23. I'm feeling great. I'm over halfway through week three and I'm on mushies. My sleeve is slow to warm up to new foods, but most of the time that's fine with me. I know that I'm not getting enough protein in though, because I'm craving a cheeseburger. I haven't eaten beef in 3 years and I only ever crave meat when I'm protein deficient. I'm still trying to find a protein shake that works for me. Wish me luck!
