so as some of u remember, in the blood test i came up positive for hpylori (stomach lining virus) and was put on a 2 weeks HELIDAC Therapy........Im 1 week into the treatment and last night I had a gran mal seizure at home...hubby was scared and called the ambulance.....i spent the night in icu and now im on a regular floor being taken care of...had several tests and the docs told me today that the meds i was taking (helidac ) may have caused the seizure.......now im off the meds and my sleeve surgery is prolly being cancelled ...( 26th july) what a bummer.........P.S I have never had seizurs before in my life.......

hey...yes i am scheduled for the 26 th also.....but they have found a stomach virus called hpylori when my blood work came back so now i am on the meds for 14 days (today is day one) and they will only operate if it is gone by then.....so hopefully it will be gone and i be right there with you.......

depends on what insurance u go with and what they require....for me from start to finish meaning having a surgery date was close to 3 months.......luckily i don't have to have that 6 month supervised diet some people have to do.........

july 26th......if i can get rid of my hpylori virus by then......

thanks all for the support......it just threw me for a loop is all - cause i only have 2 weeks till surgery to get it under control once i get my meds on tuesday for the virus......would be a bummer to reschedule

Just got back from my pcm..........she did a finger stick and it showed 479...so off she went and got me some insulin and a bunch to take home........I used to be diabetic years ago when i got it from medicine...was on prednasone for a few months and it raised my sugar through the roof but then once off of prednasone it went away....well now its back geez. due to the military being on 4 day weekend already lol my pcm could not get a copy of my lab results showing the hpylori so she cant give me meds for it yet until tuesday when everyone is back at work so in the meantime, she ordered the same blood test at her clinic ( for tomorrow) and come tuesday we can compare both sets of results......and go from there......i just hope all goes well enough so i can still have my surgery.

my sugar and protein overspill, some stomach lining disease called hpylory? going to pcm today to get put on meds or my surgery on the 26 will be cancelled.....geez....

they are checking for diabetes, cholesterol, vitamin a, d, b12, thyroid and a few other things i cant remember....

had my labs done today...wow they took about 9 vials of blood lol....plus urine, hoping the tests will come back ok....

i had hysterectomy, c- section and bladder sewn up and i did well with all of them, hoping this vsg will be the same.....

i think she may be scared to loose you as a friend after you have the surgery because she will still be fat, while u are loosing the weight......and sometimes friendships fall apart when one changes............she may not know herself yet why she is acting this way .......you can always just re assure her that you will be there 4 her or u can take a step back from the whole relationship.......I would definatly tell her that you need her on ur side supporting you and not making things harder for you .....also, seems to me that she is not educated on the sleeve surgery...provide her with a booklet or something so she can be informed.....then she cant call it abomination anymore lol...

I quit smoking and haven't picked up a cigarette in 23 days......I started out with the patch but had reactions to it...the chantix pill is not for me lol anyways ...then i used tobacco pouches but missed the hand to mouth thing we smokers are so used too.........Then i found the electronic cigarette......and that did it for me........u don't smoke u vape... water....just like the patch u still get nicotine for the addiction but not all the other 4000 harmful things that are in the cigarette....no smell either., no harmful additives.....and u can wean urself of the nicotine all together if u like......If u are interested just check out the ecig forum www.e-cigarette-forum.com just like here, lots of friendly helpful people and u can do at ton of research on the subject......or u can contact me for help.........this is info for those of us who just have the hardest time quitting or fall of the wagon all the time......hope it helps someone.....

Since you are going back to the class, next time u go - be prepared........print out a leaflet or take a booklet about VSG and hand it to her to read....tell her to educate herself before she spouts off at the mouth lol

why would u want someone rearranging ur intestines, way to complicated and dangerous , then the malabsorbtion that comes with gastric.......I go sleeve all the way.....less complications......i hear on gastric there are certain food u can never eat again.....u will always be on meds forever........not so on the sleeve.....

. to be honest, if he is that dead set against it,( I def do not like the comment he made about u never succeeding at anything...hmmm prove it to him lol) i would just stop talking about it with him but still go through with the surgery on my own...I would just tell him that u have made ur decision and thats that........he is either with u or not..........It is all about you anyway, ur health and a better life.....as the surgery date gets closer, maybe he will come around.........don't let him pressure u in any way to cancel.........i think some men just like to have control over you/things and sometimes u just need to stand up for your self.......... sorry to be so blunt but i don't sugar coate anything.....

well that is very encouraging for me , sure hate to have to go through a second bladder surgery.....i knew they only last about 5 or so years but sure dont want another one....thanks for all ur replies

U never said how close u were to the 40 bmi???? I was at 39 with no co morbidities so i gained 15 pounds in 1 1/2 weeks to qualify...( im trying to have surgery next month ) ....now that i qualify, my pcp also found that my cholestoral was up high....supposed to be at 150 mine is at 268 so he prescribed med's....(fishoil) .....wich gave me my 1st co morbidity lol just gain some more weight and get ur blood stats checked again after u gain, u never know what u ( doc) will find lol.......

have had problems with incontinence years ago and had the bladder sewn up...that was 5 years ago....its starting to "leak " again lol....does losing the weight after surgery help with incontinence? or do i need bladder surgery again when it gets too be too much? Thanks

ok, i have not had the surgery yet, im still waiting for my psych evail and then a date....but in the mean time im having these weird things going on...for the past 3 months or so .......if i take a sip of any liquid or taste any food, I all of a sudden get this weird sensation, taste in my mouth( not metallic) and then dizzyness comes over me in my head to the point where i think im going to pass out and then just as fast as it hit, the feeling is gone.........one time i was laying down in bed and when i turned over it happen'd also......doesnt matter if im sitting , standing , lying down or what ever....it just comes and goes in a matter of seconds...........I did go to my doctor but the only explanation he had was that it was anxiety or panic attack....??? Never had one of them in my life before so i don't know how they feel.... I recently had labs done and all my numbers are elevated slightly with the exception of my triglycerides.....supposed to be at 150, mine are at 268 so the doc put me on fish oil pills last week...not sure if that has anything to do with it? ..Just wondering if anyone had similar experience and got it diagnosed? Thanks.......

HI I just joined today....we are retired military living in texas - close to Fort Hood.....hoping to have Vertical Sleeve surgery in a month or so, been working on it for a month now, things are going pretty quick with few hiccups....only have about 4-5 people ahead of me scheduled for the surgery and i only have 2 more appointments to do....one is the psych eval and hopefully i can get that done on tuesday next week and one is the support group meeting wich is tommorrow......so hopefully things will keep going quickly......... My daughter( who is now living in Germany) also has been sleeved in january and she has lost 95 pounds to date and i hope i can say the same in the near future.......Im 230 pounds Bmi of 40 and hoping to get to 140 - 150....... well, i hope i make lots of friends and get lots of advice when my time comes...lol....and maybe i can be of some help to those who need it......Im still learning a lot as each day goes by..... thanks for reading...
