  1. I went for my first fill yesterday and the nurse could not find my port. Never been good with needles and things went "south" fast. Started sweating profusely and then my arms and legs, feet and hands started getting numb and tingling. She found my port but not until after 5 numbings and 3 pokes. Will my fill always be like this? UGH!
  2. I'm supposed to get filled on Tuesday, September 20. My incisions still haven't healed yet and I'm not sure why. Some of them still have scabs and then they fall off and have yellow puss (gross, sorry for the TMI). Am I going to be ready for a fill or will they not let me because my incisions haven't healed completely yet???
  3. I was banded August 12th and I was scared before the surgery. I didn't have a pre-op diet and I'm glad I didn't. I think I would have turned back if I had a pre-op diet. However, post op, it's way different. You don't have the hunger and the liquid diet is not hard at all. It is a great start to a great journey. Although my journey has been very short so far, I'm still so excited about the lap band and the wrst side effect I've had is itching at my incision sites.
  4. You can find Mederma at any drug store, OTC, and at most WalMarts, Target Stores and ShopKo.
  5. I use Flinstone Chewable Vitamins, my doctor recommended them, and so I don't have issues with swallowing them or getting them stuck.
  6. Finally called the Dr. He said to drink some metamucil and eat yogurt. At work today so I just ate yogurt and about halfway throught the cup of yogurt I was running to the bathroom. Gonna try metamucil tonight.
  7. No Pain No Gallbaldder Middle of the road for fiber Dairy sometimes, sometimes no It depends, it didn't happen with the banana, but it did with the lettuce once
  8. No anxiety and it has been happening for 6 days now. However, it was only once the first day and now it is everytime I eat something and it doesn't matter what it is applesauce, chicken, veggies, yogurt.
  9. I am on solid foods now and that is when it started to happen.
  10. I just started on solid foods and things aren't looking so great. I am 3 weeks post-op today and my doctor moved me to solid foods early. I have still been eating some mushy foods and some solids, but everything that goes in comes right back out the other end about 10-15 minutes after I finish eating. I didn't think dumping syndrome happened with the Band, but I think that is what is going on. If I'm lucky enough to eat something that doesn't cause me to run for the bathroom, I still get so nauseous and start sweating like crazy. Any advice would help.
  11. I was banded 8/12 and our total weight lost so far is very close. I am going to try MyFitness Pal. Thanks for the info!
  12. I am a junk food junkie as well and I haven't missed the food I used to crave. I love any type of Mexicann food and I was addicted to Diet Coke, 10 cans a day, before surgery. After surgery everything changed for me. I needed a constant in my diet and the LapBand provided that for me. Now I don't have a choice, I eat "good" because I want to live longer and the band limits my choices. I don't regret it all.
  13. I LOVE EGGS! I ate one hard boiled egg this morning and one yesterday in the morning. After I ate them I had to run to the bathroom and felt sick to my stomach for over an hour. Anyone else have this problem.
  14. I did not have to have a psych eval for my surgery. However, the doctors think they can tell if you are ready for the surgery or have issues with having a "foreign" object in you for the rest of you life. I don't think it is any different than having a breast implant and you don't have to have a psych eval for that procedure. Being truthful is your best bet on those evals.
  15. My name is Heidi and I am a LOSER! I am 2 weeks post-op and do not regret my decision to get banded. Life is soooooo good!
