Spouse not supportive?
At first my husband wasnt supportive. If you can, educate him. He thought that it was cheating until I got him to go with me to a free seminar that my hospital hosts and he heard the surgeon there talking about how obesity is a disease and all of the facts that went with it. Now he supports me 100% and if he has any questions he has a way to ask. He is probably more afraid that something could happen to you than he just doesnt want you to do it. Keep on him! Make him listen!

Employer Help.
Our company is fairly small. On a good day that no one calls in we may have around 45-50 employees and that is spread out between 4 warehouses and an office. I really like my job and the people that I work with, my boss is just less than tactful. I think that I might be able to "borrow" my PTO so that I can use it now. I get paid a week behind, so even if I got my PTO and quit the day I was supposed to be back they could always just keep my paycheck and get their money out of me. right?

Employer Help.
i googled FMLA and I dont qualify. i have been with my company 10 months and you have to be employed 12. Go figure. By the time I have my surgery I will have been here 11 months instead of the required 12... CRAP!

Employer Help.
I work from 8-5 M-F and on Monday I left at 3 so that I could go to my psych eval at 3:45. The request I turned in today is for Tuesday and I told him I would be back at work by NOON. Then I told him I would have to take one week off for recovery time. THATS IT! And starting on August 9th I will have 40 hours vacation time! but of course my surgery will be one month early in July. Im not familiar with FMLA.... what is it?

Ok so, the nurse at my surgeons office called me today to schedule my CONSULT! YAY! I got the surgeon I wanted too! (Dr. Sydney Hu) DOUBLE YAY! So I said "well its for surgery, Im going to HAVE to have some time off" to which he replied "well, we dont HAVE to employ you" uuuuummm....??? say what? what am I supposed to do with that??? Just in case... does anyone know anyone hiring an administrative assistant in the Topeka Kansas area!? lol SHEESH! Is there anyway to make everyone happy in this scenario??

We have the rest of our lives
I think that because I am still in the beginning stages of this process that I am still thinking that I can not wait to be rid of food. It has been my best friend/worst enemy for as long as I can remember and I am so ready to part ways. I hope I dont change my mind!

We have the rest of our lives
Nichelle, I too have an odd infatuation with food, and I haven't even been sleeved yet. If someone is sitting around me and they have food and I don't, I find myself chewing on my tounge while they chew their food. I am 24 with a 2 year old daughter and all I can think about is not letting her go through all the things that I did when I was little. I was teased and miserable for the first half of my life. I keep telling myself, "Self, how can you sit here and teach Jules (my daughter) how to eat right and make smart choices when you waddle and jiggle across the room, and stuff your face with everything that you see?" I know that we are young and have our lives to live. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE going out with my friends and I REALLY love a nice cold Bud Light or shot of Tequila. But, would I really rather go out and drink 10 beers :beer_yum: just to get bloated and feel awful the next morning or would I rather lose 15lbs going out dancing my butt off and sweating like crazy? Hmmm...? Ok... well they both kinda sound fun, don't they....LOL Anyway. The point I'm trying to make is, try and sort out your priorities.. You can still drink eventually... just in moderation. You just need to remember the important things in life. OUR LIVES SHOULDNT REVOLVE AROUND FOOD ANYMORE! What is this crazed obsession we have??? If you find the answer, tell me. Let me know if you need anything. Caitlyn

Un-Sleeved Introduction
See the idea here is to make him aware of all the benefits he will reap as well from you getting this surgery. Make sure he knows how good you will look and how sexy you will feel! Because lets be honest. Men are VERY visual creatures and sometimes as wives we need to remind them of that... LOL!!! Am i right or am I right??? TEEHEE!!
