  1. HI, After surgery I had alot of swelling in my calves, ankles and feet(4 months worth). It got to the point that it looked out of porportion with the weight I had lost in my theighs. All of a sudden they have gone down and stayed down! I think it is just our body conforming to our new metabolism! They will go down and get ready to buy new shoes! All of my shoes are too big! I am going on a shopping spree this weekend! It will happen! Denise B

  7. Hello everyone, So has anyone done it? I have an appointment tonight for a consult. I have PCOS and since I have lost the weight the hair on my upper lip has turned dark. I am not going to be walking around with a mustache! I have heard such mixed things on whether it works or not. I really dont want to waste my money and time if it doesnt. What about electrolysis? Thanks so much in advance for your advice! Denise

Has anyone experienced anything like this? My blood work was perfect. I just had it checked last week. Thanks in advance for any advice. Thanks!

No one understands what we are going through except eachother! I have felt everything from Joy to frustration to excitment! Hope to get to meet some of you! Denise
  13. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am 11 weeks out and bought my first whole outfit in the "Regular" size department this weekend. I kept finding myself moving towards the plus sized clothes out of habit. I am so excited for all of us. I went to look for a 16 and had to realize that was not considered a plus size! lol I am down from a size 24 to a 16! Denise B.
  14. HI, I had the same exact thing. They told me it was becasue of swelling in my new stomach. They switched me from Nexium to Prilosec and it has worked. It took about 3-4 days of the new meds and it made a huge differance. I hope it is that simple for you too! Denise
  15. Hello all, Sorry but I have to vent! So last night was my first shocking experience! My husband, our 2 children and myself met his grandparents for dinner last night. They were not aware that I had surgery in January. So his grandmother commmented on how well I looked and asked me how I was losing the weight. So I told her the truth and said "I had weight loss surgery". She huffed and said well that does not count and is not fair to the people who are trying to lose it the right way. I have alot of respect "Normally" for this woman so I just stared at her dumbfounded. I wanted to go off. She then continued on of how I chose the easy way out. I tried to explain to her that it was a medical issue and in no way would I be able to lose the weight on my own. Ugghh I have to say everyone so far has been very supportive. I really did not expect that from her. Anyone else run across the negative side of people?
  16. Hello all! So I weighed in this weekend to see the scale read 219.2lbs. I have not been under 220 in 15 years! This Wednesday it will be 12 weeks out from surgery and I have already lost 63lbs! This does include the 8 pounds that I lost pre-op. I just wanted to share the good news. I am really shocked and excited at how fast I am losing the weight! YAY Sleeve. It was not easy at first but it really has been worth it! Denise
  17. Hey everyone, I think I am going thru a funk. I am 11 weeks out as of today. I am very excited with my weight loss. I am down 60 pounds as of this morning. I am just having a hard time with the social part of not really eating. I have found that I am never asked to go out to lunch anymore and we never go out to dinner. I really miss the this! Will this change as time goes on? I am really tired of eating my Soup at my desk by myself everyday (
  18. Yeah I talked to my Dr and he said I could still have swelling. So...I have switched from Nexium to Prilosec and will give it a little more time. I am taking my vitamins and drinking as much water as humanly possible! lol
  19. Hey Everyone, Well as of tomorrow it will be 8 weeks out from surgery. I am down 56 pounds total and 48 pounds since surgery. I am still living on Soups for the most part. Anything I have to chew might as well be rocks and glass. It tastes horrible and I hate the feeling of it going down. Anyone else having trouble eating. I know I am only getting in 300 calories or less a day. I am eating whatever I can get it and think will stay down!
  20. Hi All, I was sleeved on the 5th. I can not get my Protein in. The shakes and the Isopure make me vomit. I dont know what to do. I am exhausted...Please give me some ideas. I was in the emergency room yesterday getting fluids. I can only get in hot tea and Water. Thanks so much!!! Denise B.
  21. Hey guys, Well I made it...barely! lol I had my sleeve on the 5th with Dr. Aceves. The doctors, nurses, hospital and friends I made were amazing. I did have an allergic reaction to the anastesia. Other then thinking it was all over for me it was a great experience. lol They treated me sooo good and helped me thru the scarey experience. I had a reaction when i was a child but did not think to tell them so it is all my fault. Everyone was so good to me. I am back home now and as happy as can be. Other then being really really tired it is not bad at all! I will post some pics from the trip when I have a little more energy. Just wanted to give you guys an update that I made it home! Thanks so much for all of the prayers and support! Denise B.

  25. Hi, I waited exactly 1 month to make sure that I was making the right decision. It made it easier to tell my family once they knew I did not jump into this life changing decision. I made my appointment in October with Nina and I am having my surgery one week from today. I am very nervous but know this is what I need to do.
