WHAT FOODS GETS STUCK or give you problems?
Wow this has been very helpful for me. I was wondering why my doctor said no bread, red meats. now on my list it says pop corn and jellies and jams also syrups. I have not seen any body having problems with those. Thank you all for sharing

Questions from a newbie...
I was banded on 6/26 and when I awoke from the surgery I did think what did I do to my self because I felt horrible I got over that quickly because I do know that w/o this my health and weight will get worse. I have felt a some anxiety thinking I will not be able as much as I used to but those are also quickly changed to positive. My port is sensitive and my shoulder hurts a lot. Why is this? burping hurts. I had a hernia in my esophagus. Yesterday and today I have felt better but still have limitations on what I can do. How are everyones stiches? mine are covered up with a gauze and a plastic tape and they itch. I have lost 13lbs since starting liquid diet.

Strong Negative Emotional Reaction to Band
I had surgery 4 days ago and I have felt like you but in a mild way. When I woke up from the surgery I felt a small amount of panic and thought what the hell did I do to myself and in these few days I have had the ocassional feeling of why did I do this? due to seeing my family enjoy food like normal and I can't. I know I did this because w/o it my weight and health will get worse and before I know it I will be eating "normal". I have already lost 13 pounds since the liquid diet. Hang in there. Skinny does taste better than anyting you can put in your mouth. I hope you are feeling better by now. PS I have had lots of dreams with food I am not eating it but I am preparing it or surrounded by it

Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
yesterday was my 3rd day of liquid diet and I am having a bad time too. Specially feeding my family and cooking for them and not being able to eat it. When I get hungry I get a cup of yogurt or apple sauce or a shake and stay away from the kitchen as much as possible. I have lost 4 lbs already. I did medifast 2 yrs ago and it was easier than this.

Intimacy
My toy was a fun gift from a friend and I have had for a long time and I do prefer my husband who has a good size member and he is great at it all. If it wasn't for our schedules being so different I would not need the help of a toy.

WOW page 4 already! I too am afraid my husband will find mine. Specially because it is bigger than him.

Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
Having a family to feed during makes it harder. Yesterday was not fun for me, I know it only gets harder. I stay away from the kitchen as much as possible. Drinking my shake while cooking seems to have made it easier.

Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
I started my liquid diet today and on the way to pick up my youngest at speech therapy I told the girls "on the way back we can go to Burger King" ha! quickly my oldest (8 yrs old) reminded me that I cannot have any. I got them some kid meals and quickly made myself a protein shake. I am following the Unjury liquid diet program.

Intimacy
Lepez it was a difficult marriage, he was also very abusive. The only time he was interested in me was when he wanted to have sex and even if I told him no he would still force it. The violent rape was in front of our oldest 2 daughters ages 3 yrs old and 7 months old. It is hard to live w/o the hugs and kisses I could not tell you how I survived I think I went numb but I knew things could not get worst I knew someday I would be out of that. When married to my first husband I went online and bought a dildo, there I said it. It helps at least it did me. I am glad this conversation was started.

Intimacy
WOW! Nume hugs from me too. My first husband and I were married for 6 yrs and had 3 children. He raped me violently once after I filed for divorce and the sex during the marriage can be considered rape also since he forced me. He cheated a lot. My second husband and I have a great relationship but he gets up at 3am to go to work and goes to bed at 9pm sometimes earlier. I go to bed after 11pm. The only time we are intimate are the Fridays that my children go to their dad's house, if he takes them so we are talking about twice per month if we are lucky. I start to feel disconnected when weeks go on and we have not done it. I guess it is a good thing we are not planning on having children or that would never happen at the rate we are going.

Anybody have a BMI of less than 35 before Lap Band Surgery?
I was right at 35 when I went to the seminar so I stopped dieting and by the day I saw the doctor my BMI was 36.9 and since I have comorbidities and my family history is really bad (obesity, diabetes, heart problems to mention a few) I was ok by my doctor. Insurance did not cover it.

I Have my date, but I'm confused, needing advice
After attending the seminar Iasked myself if I would be ok going to the mexican restaurant that I soooo love and not eat my usual and have to find a healthier replacement and eat a small portion at first it scared me a lot but a plate of food is not going to keep me in this hell that I live every day being obese. I am ready to make the changes and the band is a tool that will make it easier. Take your time and ask yourself a lot of questions and run through different scenarios and when you go to your favorite restaurant look at the healthier choices and see if you can live with them. Doing all that has helped me with my decision to get the band and also the fact that because I am self pay and it took me a while to find the money(even re financing the house was not approved) made me realize how much I really want this and how ready I am.

I Have my date, but I'm confused, needing advice
The only thing I like about the gastric bypass is the "free 100" this is the as I have heard 100lbs that come off effortlessly. Everything else scarred me: being cut and having my system altered, dumping syndrome, even (this is my thought) the stomach stretching again. With the band I feel more in control and my system is not messed with and even though weight loss is slower I feel it maybe more permanent and it is reversible. I hope this helps.
