26 days since surgery and bored with my food options
Lovely, Can you have yogurt, refried Beans or split pea soup? I'm on mushies and had 1/2 can of beef vegetable soup blended up in the Magic Bullet for dinner tonight. It was so good.

Early September Spitfires
No problems. On mushies until this Friday. Stomach makes weird noises when I eat anything other than shakes & yogurt. I'm hoping with time this will subside. Feeling great and walking 5 days a week. Had surgery on Thursday and went back to work Tuesday. Have not been tired. Nobody at work suspects a thing because I was already dieting a month before surgery. Love my sleeve!

5 DAYS POST SLEEVE
Drink, drink, drink lots of water. When I drank 48oz of water each day, I never felt hungry. I'm not doing as well on the water right now, and I do feel mighty hungry at times.

Having Major Second Thoughts
I can only speak for myself but I'm so glad I had the surgery. I'm almost 3 weeks out and of course getting tired of protein shakes. I know in the future I may need to drink one shake a day to keep up the protein, but I can also have yogurt, pudding, Malt-o-Meal, cheese until Friday, the I can blend up anything that will fit through a straw. This means a lot of different foods. I have pernicious anemia so I have to have B12 shots once a month anyway. It's really not a big deal. I strongly encourage you to talk to many people that have already had the surgery before you make up your mind.

I need an excuse but not a lie
It's Saturday, Sept 3rd and I'm 2 days post-op and I feel great. I think I will be able to walk my 2.7 miles by Wednesday. I'm already walking about a mile at a good pace. I love Dr Kelly and his staff!

I need an excuse but not a lie
Thank you peacequeen for your kind words. You can relate to me not wanting to tell the masses. My co-workers already know I'm on a low carb diet and have noticed my weight loss. There are certain people at work who will mention it every day (WLS) in a negative way if they know. I am going to eat less and exercise a lot so I should be lose weight quickly.

I need an excuse but not a lie
Thanks for all your posts. If I feel bad I will just say "I don't feel well. I'm having stomach issues" which will be true. I'll just have to see how I feel post-op.

I need an excuse but not a lie
I currently walk three days a week (2.7 miles) with a friend. We almost NEVER miss our morning walk. My surgery is Thursday in TJ and it's a SECRET from everyone except my sis, husband and parents. She thinks my sis and I are having a girls weekend in San Diego. She will want to walk Wed morning at our usual brisk pace and I doubt if I'll be up to it. I adore my friend and we're pretty close. How can I tell her I'm not up to walking briskly without lying.

New to VSG Talk 9 days Post Op
I'm right behind you jillw8. Having my surgery on Thursday in Mexico with Dr Kelly. I'll be 50 in April and there's no way in he** I'm ging to be fat and frumpy. Sometimes I start thinking about the things I have binged on and wonder if I will miss them. I miss them already being on the pre-op diet. I know I have to change my whole attitude about food. It's like losing my best friend and comforter........which is so wrong. The Lord, my family and friends are my comforters. Not longer will it be food. I'm so grateful for this surgery. mrskhicks your weight loss is amazing!

Peppercma, I read your blog. Thanks for sharing all your details. Did you say yogurt was considered a clear liquid pre-op? That would be great! What else did you drink? broth, gatorade?

How long on clear liquids? - Dr Kelly my sleever Sept 1st
- How long on clear liquids? - Dr Kelly my sleever Sept 1st
How long do you stay on clear liquids post-op and how long on protein drinks until mushies? I'm being sleeved in Tijuana Sept 1st by Dr. Kelly. Any sleevers that can tell me Dr Kelly's post-op diet?- When does the swelling go down?
Thanks to everyone for sharing their experience. I feel really good about keeping this secret from my co-workers.- Have you watched the surgery?
As for my excess stomach, my sister and I were wondering if I should make Jerky out of it or have a purse made. LOL!- When does the swelling go down?
How long does the stomach swelling last? My surgery is Sept 1st and I'll be back at my desk job 6 days later. Nobody knows I'm having the surgery except my sister and husband. I don't want to come back looking pregnant.......not that I don't have belly fat already.- Going to Dr Kelly this Tues. Did anyone bring their laptop? Do they have WIFI?
My surgery is with Dr. Kelly Sept 1st and I'm bringing my laptop. When is your surgery Pink?- SLEEVE
I'll be sleeved with Dr. Kelly Sept 1st- Explain liquid diet vs. clear liquid diet
I'm pre-op and drink protein shakes for breakfast. Skim milk, yogurt, protein powder, ground flax seed and frozen strawberries blended up in my Magic Bullet. I drink it through a straw so would that be a liquid (not clear liquid) diet?- My Gastric Sleeve Plication Surgery
Would you mind sharing the cost of each Plication at OCC? WGH - How long on clear liquids? - Dr Kelly my sleever Sept 1st
