The normal blah days can make me want to eat, not always. The depressed, break-up blah days do make me want to eat. I've always been a boredom eater so not wanting to do anything kinda makes me want to take comfort in food. But I can still have a lazy anti-social day and not overdo it with food.

My surgery is in less then 16 hours away and I am calm cool and collected. Last week I was having panic attacks, the week before I was second questing, the week before I cried alot and the week before that I was terrified. Just goes to show you go through the whole gamut of emotions before the big day but I am so ready now!!! I'm excited and ready to move on to the next half and the better half of my life. For all of you who have supported me the past 5 weeks thank you from the bottom of my heart. I couldn't have done this without you all. God bless you and continued success for a healthy and happy life. Talk to you soon!!!

Hey im 2 months post op and an excersise junky. Ive been working out since day of surgery (walking etc) weight lifting needs to weight till atleast 6 weeks start low though than work your way up. With this surgery if your weight toning you will have to bump up your cals just alittle to keep your body from going into starvation mode and putting your into a stall. I only do weight training once a week and all else 5 times a week. No matter what workout your doing as long as your working out at a moderate pace and speed you will still "SHRINK" lol i am working on becoming a personal trainer as well as nutrition consult so if you need a help on workout plans/eating just let me no. good luck have fun

DrmBig4Evr got a reaction from sastexan4u@yahoo.com in Question*~* Did anyone take diet pills prior to surgery?
Personally, I am still in the preapproval process. With that said, I had emergency gall bladder surgery about 3 years ago and was taking Phentermine. I almost didn't have the surgery as about 2 weeks prior I had stopped taking it as I knew something was wrong with me and my blood pressure kept going very very low right before sx. The anesthesiologist made it a point to tell me he doesn't like diet pills and that its very hard for him when monitoring for surgery.
My suggestion is to call your doc...

Another tip on the belly weight...first, obviously we all know avoid any carbs, just do high Protein, but also if you have any issue with emotional eating, my doctor put me on xanax in addition to phentermine and my stomach started to move a little. I haven't had the surgery yet, but saw a difference when I started taking it.

F.Y.I.--- Instead of getting a passport, you can go to your Secretary of State office and purchase a passport card or " enhanced drivers license" as long as you are traveling by land or Water across the boarder. It was only $45.00! AND you get a temporary card (stapled to your current license) that will (according to the Secretary of State) in conjunction with your birth certificate, allow you to cross the boarder immediately, incase your passport card doesn't arrive in time.

I just want to hug you all. I so relate to all of these. It's so sad what we deal with. I once had to stop my sister-in- law about asking me yet again what I did for my weight as if I has never dieted in my life. I actually broke down in tears and told her that I was a good person dammit. That if all they ever saw was my weight and were ashamed to be seen with me then I would make sure not to be around them. I told her it seemed that no one cared that I'm a hard worker, support myself, don't have a criminal record, and help rescues and shelters. I told her it seemed it would be more acceptable for them if I was a drug addict, prostitute, pedophile, serial killer than a far person. She shut up after that. That's the number one reason I like animals more than people. My dogs don't judge me and they know when I'm sad. They love me no matter my weight. Sorry it's been an emotional day and I just had to vent.

Hi all! I'm Kim and I'm new to this process. I've had my initial consult with my surgeon and am currently on the 6 month supervised diet. I'm so excited to get this journey going. I've been lurking around reading different posts and I love this site! Just wanted to say Hi and thank you to everyone for all the information. It's so cool to hear about everyone's journey and feel like there are so many that understand how I feel!

DrmBig4Evr reacted to zoekids in Shocked by other Patients Choices immediatly after surgery
I have been shocked by some of the other patients choices immediatly after surgery. I am now thinking that the 6 month evaluation period that the USA makes people go through might be a good thing.
Two patients are on the top floors in the Mariott so they have access to food they serve there. They have been eating sushi, peanuts, pretzels ... "oh, but we are chewing them up really well."
Another patient had a beer and a margaritta 4 days out of surgery. She is a nurse who was successful with the lapband until it slipped and had to be removed. Then, we went out to eat outside of the Marriott and she ordered chicken. I ordered a broth Soup. It came with shredded chicken etc, I sipped on the broth. I will admit there was some small chunks of avacado that I sucked on until they were creamy.
Why are these people taking these sorts of risks.
I heard another patient give the 2 girls hell about what they were eating and they walked away.
You know if you aren't mentally ready to do the 6 weeks of post-op diet, you just aren't ready for this surgery; IMHO.
