Things You Can Never Have Again With Sleeve :(
My doctor didn't give me any "never again" foods. I am about 14 months post op and can eat a few bites of anything, but like the above posters bread is only a bite or two and I'm done with it. I do occasionally drink diet soda, but find I don't crave it like before. I also can't stand the taste of plain water. I use sugar free crush in orange, strawberry or grape flavor. Also sugar free hawaiian punch. Spicy food doesn't bother me at all so it really is what your own stomach will tolerate.

Looking To Hear From Folks Who Are Several Years Out From Having Vsg
My mother in law had to have about 75% of her stomach removed about 25 years ago due to bleeding ulcers and she is doing fine. I am 14 months post op and I feel great! I can eat more than at first but not NEARLY as much as pre op. For example before surgery: 4 piece Cane's chicken strip dinner, french fries, cole slaw, texas toast, sweet tea ( at least 2 glasses) and dessert. after surgery: 3-4 bites of chicken strip now: 1 chicken strip, 4-5 french fries and maybe a bite of texas toast. I feel normal in my amounts that I eat now.

YES!! My tailbone stays very sore. My dr said it's because there are so many nerves in the tailbone and I have no cushion any more.

Lol. Well if a product is good I don't really care if I get from GNC, Wal mart or a smaller company, and all of these products are amazing.

Bread...
For probably the first 6-8 months I didn't really try bread at all, it just didn't feel right. Now toasted bread is ok but I still can only eat maybe a fourth of a slice. I can do tiny bites of a roll. I can also do a tiny bit of cornbread. It just all fills me up so fast.

Stomas, Pouches, Rny, Oh My!
We do NOT have pouches. We have fully functioning stomachs. Our stomachs function exactly like before they are just much, much smaller. If you google both procedures you can find diagrams of the stomach post op and see the difference.

Crazy Vsg Questions
This is exactly me!! The main reason I had the surgery was to maintain my weight loss and it has worked like a charm. The year before my surgery I went on a protein shake diet and lost 40 lbs then went off at Thanksgiving and by June I had gained almost all of it back. I had surgery in June and in Jan. began trying to just maintain my loss. Since Jan. I have eaten anything I want just in much smaller portions and I have not exercised one single time ( I know, I know) and I've not gained a pound back. I want to be able to eat like everyone else just normal portion sizes and maintain a normal weight and the surgery has done exactly that for me. Everyone is entitled to their own lifestyle and opinions, but if I wanted to and could give up sweets, fried foods and the like for the rest of my life I wouldn't have needed surgery. But that is my own experience.

Didn't Know Myself
So last week we were on vacation with my son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. One afternoon my daughter in law is showing me the pictures that she took that day at the beach and I looked at one and said " who is that holding the baby?" she looked at me like I had lost my mind and said "that's you!". what the heck!!! I didn't even recognise myself in a bathing suit looking thin! That felt GREAT!!!!!! I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!
