  1. My surgery was first scheduled for sept 8th and then rescheduled due to some of my labs. My surgery was going to be Nov 1st. I am a christian and love Jesus with all my heart. was struggling with this too, thinking the same thing that my body is a temple created by God and although I have not took care of it I will now. I never felt at peace about the surgery so I was praying about it and 2 weeks ago I decided not to have the surgery. I feel so peaceful about my decision. I'm praying everyday for strength and wisdom. God heals sickness and diseases so I know He will help me with my weight problem. I completely agree with your dad! My dad was my best friend and I lost him 2 years ago and through all of this I kept asking myself what would my dad tell me. Pray about this before you make a decision. You will know in your heart.
  2. I tried chicken broth and it was disgusting. To me it smelled like canned dog food ( sorry if I ruined broth for anyone). All I had every day was 1 or 2 protein shakes sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello, and diet pop. The 2 first days were the hardest and then after that it was a lot easier.
  3. Guess What??? I changed my mind I am going to have the surgery!! I feel like a complete crazy woman but I was just terrified thinking about all the what if's. BUT what if I don't have any complications at all?? That would be awesome. So my surgery is still Sept 8th and I feel so much better about my decision. I'm just worried about the actual surgery part now. I'm looking for all the prayer worries to pray for me and and anyone else having a hard time with this also. Thank you all so much God Bless, Amanda
  4. Hi - My surgery is Sept 8th and I'm full of emotions right now. I have researched the lapband for 8 years and thought I new everything until just a couple days ago. Then I had all kinds of questions pop up. What I would have liked to learn in my seminar which was in February. Thanks so much. Is there any damage done to the stomach from the band. How does band erosion happen and is there anything you can do to prevent it. Can your body just reject the band and if so are there any symptoms and does that happen immediately.
  5. They you all so much for the encouragement. I have researched this for about 8 years. I began my journey in January and going into it I have never been 100% sure that this is what I wanted to do. It was more of something that I felt that I HAD to do not only for me but for my family too. I have a wonderful husband and 3 boys that are my world. I have missed out on so much with them that I couldnt do because of my weight. I know I HAVE to lose weight NOW! But on Friday this really hit me hard and I just don't think I can do it yet, everytime I think about it I have an anxiety attack and I can't sleep at night, it's been awful. I know either way if I have the surgery or not I still need to change my eating habits and I have to exercise. All the what if's scare me and my surgeon is 2 hours away so if something happened I would have to travel 2 hours to him. I have a surgeon in my town but doesnt accept my *** insurance so I am thinking about waiting til next year and changing to PPO so I can see him if I decide to do this.
  6. Hi- My surgery is scheduled Sept 8th and I am really thinking about calling today to cancel it. I have thought about it for a few days and it just really hit me. I keep thinking about all the what if's and the possible complications and it really scares me. Has anyone been banded for over 10 years? It seems like most people at sometime have to have the band removed for some reason. If you have the band removed what does that do to your stomach? I have to make my decision very soon and I really need advice and encouragement. I have been on this liquid diet since the 25th and doing really good with it and have lost 7 pounds so far! Thanks Amanda
  7. My approval was quick. My dr submitted it to insurance and the next day I called my insurance and got my approval and then I had them fax it to the surgeons office the same day. I too am a very inpatient person but this whole process has taught me some patience.
  8. Hi and congrats to you! I will keep you in my prayers. I didn't ask my surgeon because I didn't think of it until after my appointment.
  9. Hi my name is Amanda and I will be banded on Sept 8th. I thought I had all my questions answered by my surgeon, however, as the big day gets closer I have more questions. So, my question is can your body just simply reject the band as it is a foreign object? And, if so what are the symptoms or side effects of that and is it immediately after surgery?
  10. WOW that's awesome! Congratulations!
  11. Kelly- Yes I have to start my pre op liquid diet on the 25th too. Its so nice to know of someone getting banded on the same day. Let's keep in touch. Where are u having your surgery at? I have a lot of emotions right now but ready for it.
  12. Hi- My surgery is September 8th. I am very excited but nervous too, thinking about all that "what ifs". It been a long process and I so ready for this.
  13. Thanks and congratulations to you too. I will keep you in my prayers. Keep me posted on how everything goes for you. I'm happy, excited, scared and nervous. Just lots of emotions. I hope I'm making the right decision.
  14. I would love to participate. This will be my first challenge. Although I am not banded yet, but will be on September 8th, YES YES YES!!!. I would like to lose as much weight as I can before surgery. I'd like to join the party too! I've never done a challenge before! What are the rules/ guidelines?
  15. I went for my pre op appointment today. This has been a long process and I'm so happy to finally be closer to my surgery. I was nervous because at my first visit he told me I need to lose weight before I have my pre op appointment and I didnt think I lose any. I did lose 7 pounds. My surgery date is September 8th. Anyone else have surgery September 8th?
