Hi my name is Amanda and I will be banded on Sept 8th. I thought I had all my questions answered by my surgeon, however, as the big day gets closer I have more questions. So, my question is can your body just simply reject the band as it is a foreign object? And, if so what are the symptoms or side effects of that and is it immediately after surgery?

I'm having surgery on Sept 8th too. Good question! I wonder the same thing...I will be keeping an eye on this post for an answer. Your surgeon couldn't tell you the answer?

Hi and congrats to you! I will keep you in my prayers. I didn't ask my surgeon because I didn't think of it until after my appointment.

My surgeon told me during the seminar that no one's body has rejected the band, but that people have had complications from slipping or erroding. but no rejection has occured that he is aware of.

I am seeing my surgeon next Friday, I will have to ask him and get his answer on this as well.
