I would say no...My dr doesn't require a pre op diet either...They are all different. You will be fine!

I have faith that you will do just fine. I can't speak from experience on the surgery but most people come out just fine. And as far as being a people pleaser---don't let your size change you. This is your decision and those same people will be looking at you in amazement later so let them look at you however they want right now.

There is a dr in Mooresville NC who offers blis, and either 1 or 2 yrs of followup appointments, all surgery costs included for like 11000-13000 for self pay. his name is Ryan Heider..

One of the doctors seminars I went to required photos of you in a bra and underwear. I was totally freaked out by that! And they require you to write a 5 page essay. It is crazy how all of these dr's have different requirements.

I'm 2 months into my 6 month supervised diet....I feel like next year seems so far away. I was so desperate, I was even willing to self pay but I have decided to take a chill pill (I'm very inpatient) and go through insurance since I am fortunate enough to have an insurance that covers this surgery. But I DEFINITELY know how you feel. I will probably have surgery in January. So we will be going through all of this together! Welcome!

I have not gone to Aceves but I can tell you he has EXCELLENT reviews!!!! He is one of the best over there. My friend is going to him on July 29th. PM me and I will give you some details.

I've "heard" that he has been through several hospitals , I think Oasis was one of them but he does currently practice at Florence.

Me and the girl I was going to go with changed our minds....There was some concerns we had...And going straight through Trish wasn't the best choice for her. We thought going through Trish would be the best but she gave my girl the complete runaround when it came to getting her deposit back. She finally got it back with my help and then Trish took part of it even though she cancelled a month ahead of time.

I had the same problems with Trish....Through email--she wouldn't answer all my questions--if you can get her on the phone---she answers them.

As far as I know, the different sites are the different coordinators. It doesn't matter which one you go with. I think they just create their "Own" site to advertise.

Hello Everyone! I'm 26 and I am still pre op...I planned on having surgery in Mexico but changed my mind and decided to try insurance first. So now, here I am doing the 6 month supervised diet. It is a little depressing knowing that I will have to wait a while to have surgery but I have went this long...I'm sooo excited about surgery and can't wait to be on the losers bench. I probably won't have surgery until January though. But my day is coming....Congrats to you all for your accomplishments--I love reading other peoples stories! Is there anyone in the Charlotte NC area?

They must be different...A few years ago I was 115 lbs and I wore a size 3-4. At about 145 lbs I wore a size 9-10. I can't wait to see these sizes again! Atleast the 9-10 anyway! I don't really want to be a 3 again--I looked anorexic!

Trying to fly from Charlotte NC but willing to do Raleigh if needed...Southwest quotes us $1000 and some change for two round trips....Cheaptickets quotes us $855... I will check them all tomorrow and see what the difference is on Tuesday... Thanks everyone! I appreciate any help...

Luckily my best friend is very supportive and she knows that once I have my mind made up, there's no changing it. But I feel like you should do what is best for you. I actually think that you taking the step to move forward and have the surgery just might make her want it later. If she sees that you "succeed" at this, she may want your support later. I think after you have the surgery and she sees how well you do, she will be fine! The proof is in the pudding...Show her how you work the sleeve!!
