I was contacted by a gentelman today who's severly obese and is on Medicaid in New York City. He'd really like to get the Lap-band surgery. Does anybody know if Medicaid covers the procedure ? If it does, do you know of any specific surgeons that accept Medicaid ?

I personally hate ads! I wish we cold do away with them. For the time being we need them in order to pay our costs (servers, bandwidth, colocation, power, backups, admins, programmers, designers etc etc.) I'm working on a plan that would allow us to do away with the annoying ones and possibly all of them alltogether. You'll see more about this in the very near future. That pizza ad shouldn't be on this board and if you click on it and give me the URL it goes to I can block it from showing again.

I found the attached copy of a lawsuit online brought by Gary J. Viscio (an obesity attorney) against ObesityHelp.com . Does anybody have any more information about this suit ? It's really bizarre but I also heard that Gary Viscio just passed away! ViscioOHLawSuit.pdf

Registered members can now personalize sticky threads that only they will see as stickied; these "personal stickies" will appear beneath normal sticky threads at the top of each forum.

The Comprehensive Ignore System allows our members to ignore more than just another members text in a post. First, members can ignore entire threads. These threads will then not show up in searches, forumdisplay, and "new posts". Second, if a member puts someone on their ignored list, they stay ignored, meaning their threads will not show up in forum displays, searches, or "new posts". Members can ignore threads with certain tags. Members can select to ignore an entire forum, so that they no longer see it, nor do search results that are located in those forums show to the user. Members can review and remove ignores from their UserCP.

I had a slipped Lap-band and I went in for surgery a few months ago to have it fixed and have my port replaced. The first few months I gained back some of my lost weight but as I continued to get fills I gradually took off that weight and thank goodness I'm back to my goal weight again. It definitely took more tweaking with the fills the second time around. I still might need to go for another adjustment because at times I can barely eat much and at times I can eat like a regular bandster. It's very uneven and I have no idea why it's behaving this way. I'm giving it some time and I think things are getting better little by little and my body is adjusting accordingly.

That's why we have a little report button next to each post. If you see one that doesn't belong in that specific forum, go ahead and report it and one of our great mods will move it to the correct forum.

I started the other WLS forums since over the years I was approached by quite a few bandsters that for one reason or another had no choice but to remove their band and went under the knife for another WLS. They loved LBT's format and asked me if I could create a special place for them since they were former bandsters. I held off for quite some time since I want to make sure that LBT is very targeted and I don't want to branch off into other subjects and ruin what we have going over here. I decided to give it a shot recently and we'll see how it works out. We're better off having a special place on LBT for these other WLS discussions. This way the posts don't get mixed into the regular forums and members can choose to read them - or not. Just me 2 cents.
