  1. Gee... I hope you didn't think I was a negative bandster. I was just saying that now that I am banded properly I love my band!
  2. I don't like the band bashers either. This is such a positive site - I love it. I have been to other sites where there were a lot of band bashers. My band didn't work the first time around. The tubing came undone. Now I have a working band and I love it! No band bashing from me!
  3. This is happening to me too. Sorry bold is stuck on!
  4. I gag very easily, like when I brush my teeth, etc. Just gagged on taking my meds. Will this affect my band like throwing up? Thanks - Terry
  5. Hi. I'm bipolar and have never gone off my meds. Even in the hospital. That is the SOLE reason I decided on the lap band vx. the other surgeries. I have worked way to gosh darn hard and long to get my mental health in a good state and nothing to me is work jeopardizing that - even weight loss. My psych told me that if I had the other surgeries, he would have to increase my meds to a level that wasn't FDA approved. I'm happy with both decisions - to stay on my working meds and to have the lap band. So, in summation, I haven't changed any of my meds, but currently am having some trouble taking the big ones. Good luck to all of us Bi-Polars.
  6. Oh - I didn't know we could crush pills!
  7. I am taking medicine (pills) for a non-weight related illness. They hurt so BAD when I take them, even when I break them in 1/2, take small pills or capsules. I will call my Dr. to see if I can get any in liquid form, but I am sure I will still have to take some pills. It hurts so bad that I don't even want to take my meds. Does anyone else feel this way? Can anyone help me with suggestions? Thanks!
  8. Knitting or crocheting may be a good substitute. It keeps our hands busy and our minds busy on what pattern/stitch we are on. It worked for me during one of the many times I lost weight on my own.
  9. Good questions. It comes out white, but no odor. Time to call the Dr. eh?
  10. My situation is a little different. I was banded in October 2009 and the buckle came undone. I was operated again on Dec. 13 and the dr. removed the old band and put in a new one. He removed a lot of scar tissue which is one reason I think I still hurt. BUT one of my incisions has gotten some pus in it the last 2 days. I have been squeezing the pus out and putting hydrogen peroxide on it. How would you treat this? Is what I am doing OK? Thanks!
  11. Very funny! Maybe the Isopure liquid would work - I was reading something else and had to stop and read about the Isopure!!!
  12. I'm out 2 weeks from my surgery and I had to pick up my 16 lb dog. Do you think I did any damage to my new band? I'm super worried because this is my second band - and it's working! The first band became unbuckled. Please let me know what you think. ALSO, the dr. that performed surgery has left and gone to another hospital and I won't have another Dr. until January. Terry
  13. I use a small 1 oz. container that comes with cough syrup, Nyquil, etc. I fill it with water and drink it when the time comes. Works great!
  14. Off topic kinda. I think you were looking for other people that have had Dr. Zanabadi as a surgeon. I had my surgery on Dec. 13th. If you would like to stay in touch let me know. I don't know how to use this site too well. Terry
  15. Why did you have to banded twice? I am 54. Had my surgery and can't stop eating so obviously the band hasn't done me any good, so could you tell me why you were banded again. Perhaps it could help me. Thanks
  16. I don't think much of him honestly. I was only the second person he ever banded and I feel he didn't get it right. When I was losing weight, it fast wasn't enough for him. My husband went with me for my fills and Dr. Z was all nicey nicey in front of him. But then my hubby would leave because he can't stand needles and all of a sudden he was like Dr. Hyde. Insulting me and everything. I stopped getting fills because of this and am researching into getting another dr. My surgery was 9/2009 and I have lost 40 lbs and am gaining it back. I am sure he has learned alot since he banded me and you will be fine. He is a Looker though, isn't he? Terry
  17. Your post was a while back. Have you had your surgery yet. I was banded by him.
