  3. Hello It does get much easier. When I first had mine it was all I could think of was food. I am 6 months out and have lost 128 since surgery and 178 all together. I feel great and how I feel, what I can do now that I could not do before and all the compliments I get plus the wonderful clothes shopping,l well who has time to think of food. All these things have taken the place of my head hunger. I understand about husbands he did not not understand either but is going through his process and scheduled for Nov 21st sugery and well i think he is starting to understand now. All will be well just take it a day at a time and enjoy this wonderful journey you are starting. don't forget to take monthly pictures- It is great looking back. Denise
  4. Hey that is Great!!!! I know what you mean it is so worth the wait. I was sleeved April 7th and had my 6 months anniversary yesterday and lost 128 pds since surgery and 5o pds before for a total of 178. The best thing you can be doing for yourself. You are in my prayers.
  5. I know what you mean. Food now taste so much better. It is amazing. I wonder why we don't need to salt anymore.
  6. Good Morning!! you might want to try egg beaters ( they are not as rich as real eggs) the slimes can still happen to me after almost 6 months ,not as often though, this depends on if I eat too fast or if I am upset when I eat or you mentioned taking bites while you were doing other things. I have learned that I need to just sit and eat and then sit for about 10 minutes afterwards to let my food settle before I start to move too much. things get better and you learn what is best as time goes on.
  7. The best thing I ever did for myself you will do Great
  8. What Vitamins do you take? This is why I'm such a huge advocate for taking a complete, ADULT, multi-Vitamin. Of course, trending your labs based on your food consumption, and your own personal health is essential, but supplementing with a high quality vitamin is so important. The article doesn't even discuss free radicals, and all the preservatives that are added to foods that destroy micro and macro nutrients in our bodies. At over 2 years out, I have never been deficient in any levels. At 18 months post-VSG, my B12 did go way too high, we cut my dose back to 1/2500mcg sublingual every couple of days, and my numbers dropped back down to normal within 2-2.5 months. Remember, that a lot of the vital minerals and vitamins are Water soluble, and those are the ones we find more and more VSG patients getting deficient in. The first 3-9 months most levels will stay within normal ranges especially with the fat soluble vitamins. BUT, after that first 12-18 months is when we really have to watch our levels. Great article ! ! !
  9. I won;t repeat what others have said but you need to think of your 3 year old and don't you want to be there for him or her?
  10. Good Morning I had my sleeve April 7th and I know what you are going through. But the closer you get to surgery you will realize that binging is the worst you can do. You want your liver not to be enlarge and not being on a weight reduction program will not help this. Once i had my surgery I have not been hungary, I eat by seeing what time it is. I used to love sweets and the other day took a crumb of a chocolate chip cookie which I loved before surgery and I thought ohhh how gross. I had to spit it out. I don't care if I ever eat junk again. Now they do not do surgery on our minds so mentally you think you want these things but after you start loosing which happens quick you get into shopping for new clothes and the complements seem to replace the food. You will be fine but what your going through is normal. Denise
  11. that is Great- I know how you feel-I just weant from a 6X to a 2x also Congradulations- I bet soon a 1x
  12. Hi There! I live an hour north of Philly. I was sleeved by Dr. G in abington April 7th of this year. Best thing I ever did.

  14. HI ! I am 5 months out and remember feeling nausious and lightheaded. You just went through major surgery, and this will all pass. Just keep on taking little sips often. You have a new tummy and it needs to heal and get used to things. You probably aren't really hungary but hungary in your head. I often say they do not do surgery on our heads and alot of what happens is thinking we need to eat. The tube does not hurt coming out at all, at least mine didn.t . You will be ok , I am glad you will be seeing the surgeon on Tuesday. Talk to them. Peace of Mind means alot.
  15. I was off protein shakes by the 8th week. My surgeon wanted me to get all my protein from food.
  16. I takes time to build yourself up. Try eating more often even though it is very little. I am out 5 months now and eat 5 to 6 times a day. end up with 60 to 70 grams of protin and abouot 700 to 800 calories. I am never hungary I go by my watch if I should eat.It seems like I am always either eating, drinking or excercising. LOL
  17. I am also an emotional eater and have struggled with my weight for my whole life. (I turned 50 today ) and well I was concerened to. Had my sleeve 5 months ago and lost 110 pds. Iam not able to eat in bulk now and what you eat you want it to be good for You. You adjust and with the weight coming off it gives you a great incentive.
