How long do we drink protein for?

Recommended Posts

Hello! I just found this site and love it! I am having a hard time drinking my Protein Drinks each day. I have tried many but just can't seem to find one I can stand. I am eating solids and do get some Protein in that way. But not enough. How many months are we supossed to drink our protein drinks? And does anyone have a super good one to recommend? Thanks!

My go-to Protein drink was Isopure PLUS (not just ISOPURE). It is 8 ounces, comes in two light fruit flavors. One is a punch flavor, the other is grape frost. The flavors are not strong like some of the fruit flavored Protein drinks. They are about the strength of crystal lite or propel flavored waters strong. Each 8 ounce bottle has 15 grams of Protein. If you are having trouble getting enough protein in, drink these instead of Water until you get your protein in.

I order a couple of cases from Amazon.com.< /p>

Thank you everyone! I am 7 weeks out and would love to be done with these Protein drinks. My dr has me on 90 grams of protein which I am thinking is a crazy amount (not to mention unattainable). How much protein is the average patient on?

Everyone in my NUT class was told at least 60 grams a day. I varied up my Protein Shakes, used different brands in hopes I wouldn't burn out. I'm 8 weeks out and have only been drinking one a day, and basically eating Protein the rest of the day.

Nancy,

Would you mind telling me what an average day of Protein is like for you? What kind of Protein you eat and how many grams? How far out are you? I am having a really hard time eating all my protein and really want to because I hate the drinks so much!

Thanks!

My Doc said i can use the drinks as needed forever if I need to. At 8 months I still use one a day.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
