Today my Dr called me to tell me they have to move my surgery AGAIN! It started at Journey lite then to Jewish hospital then back to Journey lite and today they called to say back to Jewish Hospital!!! So now the date is August 2nd and not the first. Seems so easy but it change who is keeping my daughter overnight, my time off work, my registration at the place i thought i was having surgery, the FMLA paperwork ...it's so annoying to have this happen again. I know it's only a day but it's been a pain in paperowrk for me. It had better not happen again!!! Gayle

I started today and it was a plan the doc office gave me...and it's nasty i'd have rather done it on my owna nd gotten foods i 'd tolerate but it is what it is and it all goes to weight loss too! Good luck lovemyboys!

thanks weho and Disney...LOL i love that I was not alone in my Quest for pre pre-op food. Started the pre-op today and the "pancake"..made in a cup like a muffin is HORRIBLE! it tastes like aspertame (sp?) super sweet fake sugar and i'm trying like heck to get it down. Not a problem chewing it a lot..you odnt want to swallow it....LOL Gayle

Ok to all who have started and all who will start it soon...what was your Final meal? As I sit here with the grill warming up for some boneless ribs and have a martini on the patio table.....i wonder who had what types of food the last time before their pre op diet started? Were you all good people and ate something nutritious or did you go nuts and eat everything you thought you'd miss forever? Gayle

Leslie, sounds great how well your doing, so glad you got that hernia fixed as well during that time!! Melissa, I sooo felt that positive vibe from so close today! thanks for that extra support! The entire appt was from about 11am to 3:30pm for me. It included, labs, ekg, hospital paperwork, picking out the pre op foods, vitals and before pictures and of course the nutrition class. Lots of info and bought a few extras! then of course ran across the state line to the Gap outlet and did some well deserved retail therapy ( can't wait till I can buy new for me -- next time!) Time for me to put away all that food, have a great night and thanks for all the support everyone! Gayle

MelissaG, I am leaving in about an hour to Cincy to have my final consent appt and the nutrition class and get that yummy (not) LOL food for my preop diet. I have UHC as my secondary insurance and Aetna as my primary. I was approved in less than 2 weeks. Good luck to you in hearing very soon! Gayle

I have found if you go to the manager at a grocery store you can ask them if they are willing to carry the foods you are wanting to buy. Most of the time they are willing to get a little in for you. Never hurts to try that option.

SmokyMtngal, the knoife in the cup is a great idea and love the note on the fridge..i'm a very visual person also. Tiffykins, Your advise has been priceless as i have read many of your posts and am trying to follow a lot of your advise and steps as to have a sucess story as you have. N2B8R, thanks you (and thanks everyone!) I had already had a 6 month supervised diet from almost 2 years ago and my medical history (i have a BMI of 40 and Hypertension) and they had the info for about a week, asked for more info ( not sure what Amy at Dr Curry's office sent them that time) but they approved me. Ok I have been approved for surgery, have my final appt this thursday 07/14 and start my pre-op diet next monday. Surgery is August first!! I'm trying to figure out what the best way to remember to STOP drinking at meals. Seems like I am always grabbing something to drink and after the meal...going UGHHHH i did it again. I want to start this habit now but tend to forget all the time, even going back to get something to drink when i don't initially get anything? Any help?

Lonniethatgirl, I have no insight for you either, only that i have read these forums for weeks now. I also am being sleeved on August 1st ( about 2.5 weeks) and am totally scared and completely excited at the very same time. I wish us both good luck in our future! Gayle

Hello all, Today i got the eagerly awaited call for surgery. Was approved last week and knew this was comming. I have my Date....It's August 1st 2011!!!! So happy and so many of you had no idea I've been lurking in your post, reading and reading!!! Thank you for supporting me even thought we have never spoke but now it's the time to shout it out that my date is comming and i'm going to need lost more support now!! Gayle

well I got my answer today and i got my APPROVAL!!!!!!!. I'm so excited about this and will get another call in about a week after all sign off and get my surgery date!! Thsi is amazing and i can't beleive it's really going to happen! ~~Gayle

Ok so I called the office of Dr Curry today to move my nutrition appointment up a few hours and decided to be brave and ask if they heard anything from the Insurance company (Aetna). They said they got a request on the 8th for "more information" which was promptly sent in (yeah Dr curry's office staff!!) So my question is...might is be looked at as a good thing if they didn't outright reject my claim? I'm of course hoping that's the news. My question comes into play is that i had a physiocian supervised diet in the past but they only made you come every 2 months. So thinking i was going to have to do yet another 3 to 6 month supervised diet. So once again i wait but now know i didn't get an immediate rejection! Any opinions on this?? Gayle
