  1. I just got my surgery date of July 12! I'll be sleeved at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, OH.
  2. I just got off the phone with the scheduler - my surgery will be July 12!!!!! The pre-op teaching will now be June 27 instead of the regular followup appt that I had scheduled that day. Now for the really good news - it's not going to cost me as much as I thought! Originally they told me it would be 17K, but she just told me it would be 15,300 instead (plus the suppliments/vitamins that I have to buy from them - another $150. YAY!!!! The downside: I have a family reunion that I will be attending in Maryland on July 8 and 9. I won't be able to eat the dinner with the family since I'll be on a 2 week pre-op diet at that time. Oh well, I guess it will give me good practice for life with the sleeve.
  3. I just did a quick Google search for "vegetarian high protein" without the quotes and one of the first links was this one: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.htm It looks to have some good ideas on it. Hope it's helpful.
  4. Congrats and glad you are feeling better! Take care of yourself.
  5. Those are awesome NSV's! Congratulations on those and the 50 pounds lost!
  6. Congrats on making it to the final interview! Good luck on Tuesday!!
  7. I'm pretty decent when it comes to searching other websites, but I have a tough time with this one. One thing that I found somewhat helpful is to search only for a single word - and not a phrase. Seems when I search for a phrase I get zilch. But frankly, the search feature isn't that great.
  8. Congratulations on the date and the new job!
  9. Welcome to the forums. Be sure to check out each of the boards as there is a LOT of helpful information posted by members. Congratulations on making the decision and starting your final weight loss journey.
  10. I have been trying to not stop at fast food places since meeting with the dietician for the first time on May 18. For the most part - I've been successful in that. I admit, I have stopped about 5 times during these 3 weeks and have ordered from my favorite take out 3 times. However, that's better than I used to be - I used to stop for fast food every day - for Breakfast and dinner and order take out for lunch every day. So, while I still have a lot of work to do to break my fast food habit, I still count this as a success. On Friday, I'll be leaving for a 15 hour drive (which I am breaking into 2 days) so I can get to Providence to park my car (since it is cheaper there than at my destination) and take a 1 hour train ride to Boston for a week of genealogy research. For the first time ever, I have been thinking about how I will eat during that drive. I spent some time today chopping up some veggies and putting them into ziplock bags for my cooler. I even put some bottles of Water in the freezer which I will then use to keep things cool in my cooler. I also made a batch of those cheese crisps that was posted in the recipe section for the trip (I had to try one - it wasn't bad). I am even planning to take some of my Protein samples with me so I can mix them on the run. I'll stop at gas stations along the way to get more bottles of cold water. While I am in Boston, I do plan to eat out each day - but I have already researched some restaurants that are in the area of my hotel that have healthy foods for not an outrageous price. The trip home will be more difficult - as I'm sure I won't have any veggies left then (and frankly even if I did, they would probably be bad). I realize I could stop at many fast food places and get salads - but I really do not want to do that because it will be too easy right now for me to order stuff I shouldn't be eating. I'm sure I'll figure something out for the return trip. I'm amazed at this change in myself already - and I haven't even gotten to the pre-op diet yet!
  11. Have you tried going back to liquids? I might try that to see if the symptoms subside. If they do, it just might be that your new tummy isn't quite ready for solids yet.
  12. Congratulations. It is perfectly natural to be nervous and excited. Good luck Friday.
  13. Congrats on getting a date! Good luck!
  14. I haven't been sleeved yet, but you may be entering a stall. Things will be all right though. Make sure you get all of your fluids in - they are vital to loosing the weight from what I have been told.
  15. Congrats! Sounds like things went smoothly despite the pain and nausea. Hopefully those improve quickly for you.
  16. Glad it went well for you and you're feeling good. Congrats!

  18. Doing a quick google search shows a few out there - some have reviews. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
  19. Congrats on the surgery! Glad to hear things went well and you're on liquids now. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Congrats! Here's hoping for a quick appt with the psych. and a good eval from it so you can have your surgery.
  21. Congratulations! Enjoy the real food again!
  22. Looking good! I know you don't consider it a success yet, but I think 70 pounds lost forever is a success! Just keep building on the success...
