  1. That's funny, Warrior! And thanks to be thin!
  2. Hell I'm digging into sugar free jello now! That's chowing down! Hahaha
  3. Thanks Kelly, yeah ice chips only don't quite make it when your throat is so dry you can hardly talk. Just happy to be on liquids! lol
  4. I was sleeved yesterday by Dr. Zeni in Livonia. I'm still here in the hospital but wanted to share my excitement of being on the other side. I have to say I felt like I was hit by a truck after my surgery yesterday but today I feel much better. They did the last leak test a couple hours ago and no leak so I'm eating some liquid foods now. I know this is only the beginning but I'm happy to be past that first big step. Thanks for all the great info you guys bring to this site. It's very enlightening!
  5. My surgery is tomorrow morning, too! Lets DO THIS!!
  6. My surgery is Monday morning at 11:45. Even though I'm a man, I also have a lot of emotion and anxiety about this. But I WILL do it. I have to. I'm not going to cut 15 years off my life because I'm too scared to take this small risk of tacking on that 15 years instead. I want to see my great-grandchildren! You can do it! Good luck and see you on the other side!
  7. I have my surgery on Monday the 6th. I was told I'll have a drain tube for 10 days and I'll have to measure any fluid that comes out of it. I guess it varies from doctor to doctor. I'm not excited about it, trust me.
  8. June 6th is my surgery. Just started my pre-op diet on Sunday and it's going pretty well. I hope everyone's turns out good. I'll get on here and give a report when I get out of the hospital. Good luck!
  9. I'm having surgery on June 6th with Dr. Zeni at St. Mary's hospital in Livonia. He came highly recommended by a friend of the family and I've heard nothing but great things about him. So far I'm impressed with their program. They have an extensive after-care program as well. I'm very comfortable with my decision and can't wait for my sleeve. I also have BCBS ppo and they're paying everything. They also had no hoops to jump through to get my surgery date. The whole thing has went very fast. I have a BMI of 48 and sleep apnea. Good luck whoever you choose.
  10. ybnormal, you might not be crazy, but you ARE hilarious! Enjoyed reading your posts. Most of your concerns are shared by all of us. But looking at the post-op section, it seems most fears are also unwarranted. Good luck!
  11. I have my sleeve scheduled with Dr. Zeni on June 6th. He comes highly recommended. Can't wait!
  12. I haven't had my surgery yet but the Program Director said I won't be going back for 4 weeks. I work in a factory with occasional heavy lifting.
