  1. The Talbot's outlet in Springfield is great. Also do you have a ShopItToMe account?
  2. And outlets are the only way to go if you won't be in a size long, so I feel you there. I am actually really looking forward to just shopping in my own closet the first few months...I am so excited to do that, it's so silly.
  3. I work in Ballston! What about you?
  4. I really meant it! I see you live in DC - I live in VA. Maybe after I am sleeved and have lost weight we can have a fun shopping trip??
  5. Yeah, I'm just worried I will be weak and exhausted. I can't do Isopure or Unjury which is what they sent me.
  6. Honestly, when I looked at your photos at first I thought I was looking at "after" and I was looking at "before"! I think you hold your weight beautifully and will look amazing in the 140-150 range. That is my goal also, as I like to be a little curvy.
  7. So...after a long day of internet searching yesterday, and a big whopping headache, I realized I am just not going to be likely to find some Protein powder. The shellfish issue is really a big one - almost all are processed in a facility that also processes shellfish. Or they have sucralose...or both! Please note I am only working on the clears diet right now - that is my biggest concern. I have found a few options for after that. Soooo, I emailed Monica (Dr Aceves) and she searched also and came back and told me I'd just have to have broth for those 10 days. Ok...that's fine. NOW my issue is that I am finding a very big difference in the protein counts for broth recipes. Some say as low as 1g and others as high as 27g and it looks like the same recipe! More headaches. Does anyone know how you would possibly figure out the protein content of home made broth? I don't cook at all and have no clue how to do this. Does anyone have ideas for getting protein during the clears phase other than broth? Thanks. I really felt at my wits end yesterday...just felt hopeless. I can't have anything that could possibly be processed with shellfish or I will die!
  8. Vegas - what did you do for your protein instead? I need options, I think!
  9. So....my fortune cookie at lunch: "Sometimes traveling to a new place leads to a great transformation" :huh0:
  10. This just keeps getting worse! I tried the Beneprotein today and it made me gag slightly. I'm wondering if I will just make my own "Shot" and just gag it down. From Unjury: The facility that makes the product also occasionally processes shellfish. The chance that there would be any cross-contamination of shellfish into our product is extremely low, and the odds that it would be a significant amount are even lower. But it is not impossible for that to happen, and we understand that allergic reactions can be life-threatening. So we prefer to disclose everything we know, and allow each customer to make their own decision based on their own sensitivities. :huh0:
  11. Maybe splenda is not a sugar alcohol, but it somehow impacts me the same way, so maybe it is just that it is grouped in my head as one. Splenda = sucralose, and sorbital, xylitol, malitol = sugar alcohol. But to me, same difference! Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm going to try Beneprotein and also try to contact unjury to clarify the statement. I have sent two emails thus far with no reply, so I will try to call on Monday.
  12. Yes, I am a new mom - my baby is 9 months old. He is very very active and squirmy! I hope my recovery goes ok with him around! haha. My date is Nov 23rd with Dr Aceves.
  13. Ruby, WOW! this blew me away: Since Monday, I've lost 7 inches, and 18 lbs. Way to go! That's great, and I am also really happy that you had such a great surgeon and no nausea. So happy to hear your experience. Thanks.
  14. Tiffy, what brand of toner do you use on your neck?
  15. I sent an email to clarify to the Unjury. I am really hoping that it works out with it, but if not I will let you know. VegasAngel, can you send me your address? It really does not matter how little of an amount is in there, if it is in there, it just really upsets my system...so I won't be going near the chike.
  16. I'm right there with you -- going to Dr Aceves on the 22nd by myself. I'm getting really nervous, but just keep reading all the successes here eases my mind. We have a "November Sleevers" thread going if you want to ask over there about the 19th.
  17. Crikey - the Jay Robb has the same warning: Manufacturing employs practices designed to segregate ingredients on equipment that also processes egg, wheat, peanut, tree nuts, soy, fish and shellfish products. I've been looking too - does anyone use either of these?? ANY WHEY Protein Jarrow Unflavored Also, I realize now I have unjury and Chike samples at home now that I can't use. Does anyone want them??
  18. Eep, and to top that off, I went to double-check
  19. Thanks.. I just looked it up online and Sucralose is the last ingredient. :crying:
  20. Does anyone know of a good Protein powder with no sugar alcohols - i.e., sucralose, splenda, malitol, sorbitol, etc etc? Those make me SUPER sick now so I don't want to mess with them after surgery. I can tolerate equal and aspartame fine. I am wondering if I will just end up using Beneprotein and just have to use more of it, as it is only 6 gms of protein per serving. Has anyone found a better solution? Thanks.
  21. Welcome Paula! That's a good idea about turkey, I didn't even think of that! I can't believe I am 19 days away! EEP. Ruby, I think you may be the first November sleever? Please give us an update when you get back online! Hope you are doing great.
  22. So sorry to hear that! I know you were very excited. For me if I do aerobics mine always goes down.
  23. Thanks for trying though. What study? I googled and didn't find anything.
  24. As someone with a baby, I recommend Plum Organics baby food. It's in a pouch so you can squeeze out only a little a time if you want. They have it at Babies R Us. They also sell some purees called Revolution foods for toddlers. I have tried the Plum and it is GREAT. My baby loves it so much more than the other kinds. I plan on mixing it with Protein powder once I get to mushies. I've also been thinking about other mushy options. could I buy chicken soup and just blend it up?
  25. I do one of two things. I watch TV and put a towel over the time on the elliptical so I can't see a thing -- sometimes it really helps to not see that time ticking away. Other times I do the exact opposite...I use the timer to play a "game" - like for example I will turn the resistance up to 10, do that for 30 seconds, turn it to 9, do that for 30 seconds, and so on. It helps the time pass to do such a thing! HTH
