  1. Best of luck Irene! If you need anything, just let me know...
  2. Niel, FYI, i am eating salads, fresh fruit with no problems now. I have a dislike of "skins" I never had before, but so what. I don't ear GIANT salads like I used to, but eat as much as I want whenever I want. I am eating watermelon right now. I have a kitchen garden, and started eating fresh veg right as the tomatoes started to get ripe. Now theres cucumbers too. I peel the tomatoes (strange) but never hear a peep from sleevie. I started around 4-5 months and by 6 could eat anything.

  4. Lookin' good! Keep up the good work!
  5. At 8 months I am still losing hair too... I figure about 20-30% so far and no end in sight yet. My weight loss is slowing down a lot, about 3 pounds a month... hopping this signals a slow down in hair loss too! Good news is, I can see little short hair coming in at the hairline....
  6. The sleeve was recommended to me because my cardiologist prescribed an aspirin a day. I had to quite taking it with approval from my cardiologist for one month before and after surgery. I eat something with it because it can still ulcerate the staple line...but has sell problems than an RNY might have. I think Docs would rather you not take them, but some confuse the sleeve with RNY rules. take care.
  7. March sounds good, I will probably need another month to get to my goal anyway (at this pace) Slow but steady wins the race!
  8. Thats like striking it rich! I'm sure you have donated a bunch to the charity shop yourself so far. Have fun on vacation!
  9. I have bought things there, but never asked for a sample... give them a call. Some will not give a sample, but will take your protein back if you hate it.... not sure if that is vitamin world or not.... Vitamin world does carry 4-ever-fit fruit flavored protein drinks... I LOVE it, its my fav. Mango, black raspberry, strawberry/kiwi... all good.
  10. Li'ldiva, I thought that was a nice gym too. Isn't it informative to know your body composition? It gives you some place to start with customizing your workout. Mine was 36.9. One thing I did was start taking Creatine... it helps you build muscle mass. I have read studies where it was given to men in senior care homes, and it worked on them... also helps with brain function! Anyway, I started about 10 days ago, and I have gained 2 pounds :^( but have lost inches, so I think it might be working... will see when I go back to the golds in 5 months. I plan on adding some light weights soon too... Wish I had a pool available......
  11. I def think this....
  12. I'm not sure how to read some of my old friends yet.. they are not being mean or anything, but a few of them really don't say anything at all. They don't mention that I have lost any or I look good... just a couple of them. One Is bigger than me now for sure, and the other one for many years weighed less than me, and now we are pretty close in weight... Other friends just say how nice I look, and even if they are a little jealous, they wouldn't ever say it out loud. A couple of friends have said they are jealous, but not in a mean way... just they wish they could lose the weight too. I know how that is... I had a friend lose a bunch of weight at one time, and I had a really hard time facing up to her... She didn't change on the inside, I just couldn't face myself looking at her. I never was proud of that, but it was true. I have talked to her about the sleeve and she is interested. (she gained the weight back, naturally) She is looking into it... if she decides it is the right thing for her, I will be there for her this time for sure.... or even if she decides not to go there....
  13. Each person is different for sure... I think I remember Tiffikins saying she didn't ever have a gain on the way down...
  14. That is so cool! I bought a western belt at the thrift store, all tooled leather and cool buckle... I bought it for the buckle because the thing was just too small to even get the first hole in the buckle... well, I can wear it now! I'm so glad I didn't throw the leather part away! congrats man!
  15. Just a little tear! You look so happy and the wedding looked very classy! Beautiful!
  16. I really feel for folks who are morbidly obese...I do wonder if they would want the surgery if they knew... or if their insurance would cover it, or if they would want the sleeve or band or RNY.... or if they could get the work time off, or afford to pay out of pocket....I want to tell them all, but of course don't... unless they ask of course. I do run into quite a few women who have had some kind of weight loss surgery... Most have had RNY and I met one nurse who had lost 100 pounds with the band and seemed happy as a clam. I couldn't help but think "Girl friend, I a m sooo happy for you, but that band is going to bite you in the butt some day". I have talked about my surgery with a girl from the gym, who is prety sporty, and she said she never imagined that I was ever fat... she just saw me as sporty and fit. Its all very strange.
  17. If you enter your weight daily in Fitday.com, you can view it in this chart... available for different weeks or months.... I love it! I did a screen shot to post it here.
  18. I have posted this before, but it really illustrates this point....
  19. ((((())))))
  20. Good for you! I need to do this too... up my Protein for sure... OH MY! Hahahaha! I just posted you a comment on your pencil skirt thread, and I said you look a little French, and now I notice you are from Belgium...Well, I was close anyway! hehe. Cheers, and good luck with your new efforts... Kim
  21. You look super cute! I even like the mommy tummy... remember that french girl in Pulp Fiction? She talked up women having a nice round tummy... it feels better to touch than a flat one! And with that sailor stripe shirt, and pencil skirt, you do look a little french! Love yourself, you look fantastic!
  22. Before surgery I was put on a beta blocker for atrial fibrillation, it also lowers my BP which was getting a little high... around 140/85 at times... that knocked the BP down and helped the heart thing. Now, 73 pounds later, my BP can get as low as 85/56... I do occasionally get faint when I stand up. I have to continue taking my Beta Blocker because of the heart... but do cut back by half when the numbers get toooo low... I still have 20 pounds to lose, and hope the BP doesn't get lower! I may add a shake of salt here and there.....I also take a full aspirin per my Cardios direction...Mostly I feel just fine.
