  1. I can't wait until I can start exercising. Right now just getting ready for work has me exhausted!
  2. Hubby made me turkey and mashed potatoes last night for dinner! He took lean ground turkey and cooked it and then pulverized it with mashed potato to make baby food. It was heavenly. I love the mushies!
  3. Perfectly normal. I am 9 days out and I'm still not getting in everything I need to. I think I could only manage 1-2 cups of water a day in the first days out, everything that I went to try hurt going down and I got a gas bubble. Now I still get a gas bubble but no more pain. But I'm still struggling to get everything in. 2 tablespoons of pureed food and I'm full!
  4. Hubby keeps asking me to weigh myself every day. I honestly don't want to. I'm afraid to be disappointed every time I step on!
  5. I'm a side or stomach sleeper but can only sleep on my right side or back right now. I hope I'll be able to go back to stomach sleeping soon!
  6. I wasn't nauseous at all the entire time. I usually get sick from anesthesia but they did something magical I swear. Only time I got sick was when I had to drink the nasty blue water and stuff for the leak test. Puked in the car on the way there and in the lab right when I was being xrayd. lol
  7. I can't wait to graduate to cream soups. I think we're allowed to have them in week 1-2? There's so many differing opinions on this it seems! I reallllly want something more than just Protein drinks, clear soups, yogurt and cottage cheese already. I'm doing ok. I'm 1 week now post op. Very tired. First day back at work yesterday and I came home and crashed. I was just exhausted! I'm doing short days for the rest of the week so I can recuperate a little more before I do full days again
  8. I'm doing the same. I don't have the energy for both!
  9. I haven't had any vomiting other than that disgusting leak test junk.... puked all over the floor in the lab LOL Today is already better. I've gotten down 1/2 a bottle of apple juice and 1 cup of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup and 1 oz of cottage cheese with no issues. I'm currently working on a berry Protein smoothie drink. Very little pain upon swallowing today. Looks like I'm rounding the bend!
  10. I'm having the same problem getting liquids in. I fear dehydration is in my future. Even a small sip gives me pain right now. I'm scared to try anything not liquid in the future!
  11. The gas pain is the worst part. Make sure you move as much as possible. Go for lots of walks, windmill your arms, get the nurses to clap you on the back.... I found the GASX strips were a waste of money but YMMV After the gas passed the pain was localized to the drain site. Once the drain was out, it was like night and day. Such a relief. If you try to drink too much or too fast, there's pain kind of like when you get food stuck. If you choose to stay in the hotel instead of recovery house, bring some liquid pain meds. You will want them. Anything else feel free to ask or follow me on my blog. Good luck!
  12. I was just sleeved with Dr Almanza on the 26th. It wouldn't hurt to bring something liquid along with you. I'm allergic to morphine so my pain wasn't managed as well as I had hoped. If you stay in the recovery house there are nurses around all the time for you if you need more in your IV. You're not allowed anything chewed until after your leak test. Also, I brought the Gas X strips and found they did nothing. Only thing that helped was walking and hubby beating my back. It was horrible pain from the gas.
  13. had some tea tonight... went down like a dream! Also just got my drain removed.... what a relief that was! Most of the pain is gone now!
  14. Yes I can eat them without too much pain. Only pain is when I try too much fluids. I vomited the leak test stuff all over the floor at the radiologist this morning because it was just too much, too fast!
  15. Im 2 days out and having problems getting my fluids in. I'm trying though. I find it painful if I have more than just a little sip. So far I haven't had anything but water, juice and freezies since Tuesday.
  16. My BMI is 36.3 and I am 218 lbs at 5'5 I had my Sleeve 2 days ago with Dr Almanza in Tijuana, MX
  17. 2 days out for me. We're still in Tijuana. Had the leak test this morning. That was absolutely disgusting. I threw up on the floor. haha I have to agree about the pain though.. alot more pain that I was expecting. I don't think there's enough information on here about the pain you might have!! Would it have changed my mind? no but I would have been prepared for it at least.
  18. I'm drinking a Grape Frost isopure right now! It's ...ok... it has a weird aftertaste but its what I need right now post surgery so I'm trying to get it down.
  19. Hi Cheryl! Welcome!! My name is Cheryl too! I'm 2 days post op!
  20. I was sleeved on the 27th. Still have my drain in and i believe most of the pain is coming from that. Its been pretty rough. I don't think I was fully prepared for the amount of pain the gas gives you. It was just awful. I was moving around alot, taking walks, gas-x strips, hubby clapping me on the back... still took over 24 hours to release all that gas. Feeling better today but still a long way to go.
  21. I feel ya. The gas pain has been just horrible. Thankfully I'm 2 days out now and its almost all gone.
  22. In the clinic currently waiting for surgery, nerves are setting in!
  23. Off to the airport in 30 minutes. On my way to my new healthy me! Excited, nervous... excited!
  24. My understanding is that caffeine will irritate your staple line and its also a diuretic. Since its apparently hard to get in enough fluids anyway, we don't want to do anything that's going to have the diuretic properties either.
