  1. Who got a goal outfit after (or just before) their surgery? I was told it was a good idea to get a goal outfit. Something to look forward to I guess. I can't seem to let go of the fear of not making it to the goal and not fitting the clothing. I keep putting off the purchase. Any ideas how to get over myself? What did you do?
  2. I've used both the Instead and the Diva Cup. I've converted many people I know to the cup... best invention ever. It does take some getting used to. In the beginning, I had a little mess on my hand to clean up so I learned to take a wetted paper towel into the ladies room when I went. Now, I can pull it out, empty, wipe and reinsert with very little spillage!
  3. Sweet! Myself and my hubby will be there... look for the blonde with short hair and the man that's 6'3" that has a resemblance to Vince Vaughn! Would love to meet someone there!
  4. My pre-op diet is only 3 days of liquids. Thankfully I'll be able to make it through Easter dinner with family before I start my liquids only! Right now I'm trying to find some sample packs of powder protein. All those websites out there either only deliver in the States or are crazy expensive to ship to Canada. Sucks! Yes Banff is very beautiful SpiceyMom. We camped out there last summer but we just don't get out there often enough.
  5. April 27 with Dr Almanza in Tijuana for me
  6. The same surgery in Canada (self pay) is over 20,000 and at least a year between first consult and surgery date. In Mexico I can get it for 1/3 to 1/4 the price and much quicker turnaround
  7. Eeeee so excited for you! I'm not sure how to tell my family and whether or not to tell any co-workers (or boss) and even if I should tell my trainer. I think I might keep it a secret till its over... then no one can try and talk me out of it! Not like they could, I just don't want the hassle!
  8. Dr. Almanza. We're in Canada so we're flying to San Diego on the 26th. Unfortunately not direct flight home so its going to suck to sit in Seattle airport for 2 hours on layover!
  9. Heck yeah, where are you getting sleeved??
  10. I work downtown so if downtown works for everyone else, it would for me as well. I'm going for my sleeve on the 27th so right around the corner for me now!
  11. We're sleeve sisters! I'm being sleeved the same day! I don't have to do the pre-op liquids until Easter Sunday though... thankfully. We have alot of family coming over!
  12. ToDream replied to Rev Me Up!'s topic in The Lounge
I've always liked Dr. Oz but lately I'm really not liking the crap on his show... very one sided and not nearly enough research being done it before releasing it to the desperate public as "medical doctor advice". We all know its a show but frankly, if a Doctor says you should do it, people listen. Regardless if that doctor was paid to say that or not
  13. Congratulations! I can't wait to join you on the losers bench!
  14. I'm barely over a BMI of 35 and I occasionally think the same thing. Should I try just ONE more diet? Hell no, the 15-20 diets I've tried over the last 15 yrs didn't have lasting effects or I would not be having this surgery! It's time to make a permanent change, its time we had an ace in our hand.
  15. Absolutely! I'd love that!
  16. Hahah Hubby and I were just reading these! Awesome!
  17. Someone I talked to told me to ask for the popsicle instead. They will give you a red popsicle to suck on which the xray will be able to see... way easier than swallowing the Barium!
  18. Another Canuck checking in! I'm in Edmonton. I get sleeved on April 27 with Dr Almanza in TJ!
  19. I have gel nails so its alot more than just popping them off... I wonder if they can do the oxygenation check on toes??
  20. My Dr had referred me to a program (where WLS is a likelihood) but since then I've decided to do self-pay. I'm nervous about telling her I'm doing this.... eep!
  21. Getting nervous! April 27 with Dr Almanza in TJ!
  22. I haven't been on this site long but I'm excited to be part of the APRIL group! April 27 with Dr Almanza in TJ!
  23. Another newbie here... I too would love a copy. Please send if you can!
