  1. I read this post and was still looking for a shake that I would actually enjoy and not just drink it because I have to. So i went out and bought the oh yeah to try- It is REALLY GOOD! I tried the cookies & cream and strawberry. they are both Delish! I started my 2 week pre op liquids TODAY and i am picking up a case of them 2 day! I am also going to try the banana. I think this is the key to not cheating on the liquid diet- at least for me. I have to enjoy whatevery food/liquid that i am eating. The GNC Total lean RTD strawberry is also good, but is doesnt meed the requirements from my Nut. Good luck.
  2. Today I started my "VERY STRICT" 2 week pre-op liquid Diet. All I can say is Thank Goodness I am off for the next days so I can get the routine!! My diet SPECIFICALLY tell you what to have at every meal. AM: Protein Drink Supplement 1 cup skim milk or light yogurt MID MORNING: Fiber Supplement (5 gr fiber in Water NOON: Protein Drink/Supplement Fiber Supplement 1 cup skim milk or light yogurt AFTERNOON: 1 cup raw veggies w/ ff vinaigrette dressing DINNER: Protein Drink Fiber Supplement EVENING: Protein Drink 1 cup skim milk or light yogurt Total of 100 oz(minimum) liquid (including all liquids above). Plus u can have UNLIMITED broth, sf Jello, decaf coffee/tea, crystal light, sf popsicles. And this is the menu for 14 days...... Pray for me. I mean I am all for structure but hmph. So far I have not detoured (and I dont plan on IT!!) but I am 8 hours into the day and i can honestly say I am NOT hungry. Only time I felt a tummy rumble was this morning and I just drank some water. It seems simple but I am constantly looking at this paper trying to make sure I haven't missed anything! Or planning my next drink! LOL Wish me Luck!!

  19. Hello to u all, I am trying to figure out how long I will need to stay out of work after Banding. I am an RN so I do have a semi- active work load. I hear so many different responses from 4 days to 1 month! That's a lot of time in between. I would like your post-op opinions. Thanks alot

  22. Right now I am on veggies, meat & 3 servings of daily. My 2 week liquid diet (2 weeks b4 surgery): 4 Protein drinks, 3 daily 1 cp skim milk or light yogurt, 1 cup raw veggies, and 3 servings of benefiber powder mixed in water. THATS it!! plus broth, water, tea, etc. I going to do it, but OH MY! How can I exercise with such a diet???
  23. Attended informational Seminar April 6 ( found out what my insurance requirements were- started making dr's appt the next day for first available) Psych Dr May 10 Mandatory support group meeting May 11 Last of 3 pcp dr visit May 20 (fortunately my insurance requires only 3 supervised dr's visits documenting ur weight, exercise type & length of time, & which diet- they also did not have to be consecutive but all within 1 year. Since i knew i might consider this last year, i had my pcp writing these things in the chart, so my first visit was last's year & i made 2 appointments the end of April and 3 weeks later mid May) They submitted my paperwork the day of my last pcp visit- May 20 (I faxed her my dr's progress notes from the dr's office) Approved May 26!!! RN assessment June 13 Surgery date selected June 21 I choose July 29- could have chosen July 8 however, i did not want to rush all the preparation. So roughly April 6 initial seminar and May 26 insurance approval Good Luck in your process
