Thank you for sharing your story. I am trying to decide whether to have the RNY bypass or not and this was an honest experience that I needed to read.

I'm so glad my story is helping you.. Did you decide what you want to do?

  2. Jennifer,

YOU ARE NOT a failure girl. We all have humps in life. Don't beat yourself up. You are doing the right thing moving forward! I am a gastric sleeve patient, but I also paid cash. I opened up a special credit card account they offered with no interest for 16 mos. I don't know what your financial situation is, but this is an option. Good Luck Sweetie

Thanks for the encouraging words. i was self pay for my lap band and I'M STILL PAYING IT OFF! My last resort will be to save up and go to Mexico!!!

  3. thanks for the encouragement guys!! I submitted again and was DENIED!!! i'm really trying not to get frustrated. This last time they said it looks like they thought my band was removed in July when the documentation states my band was DEFLATED in July!! nope this bad boy is still in here.. so now they are looking at it again! I am so ready to get back on track but I know I need a tool(the sleeve) to help me!!! Praying my next update is that I got approved!

  4. yes sexy is a state of mind..girl please i knew i was sexy when i was a size 20! any you know you cant tell me nuthn at a size 12! lol working towards my 10..i was a slow looser. comparing my lost in pounds i look like a failure, but i'm no longer comparing my journey with anyone else. you look amazing! celebrate what you have accomplished thus far and use that as your motivation that you can and will do this!

  5. the first step admitting you havent really honestly done your part is the first step in getting back on track. praying you get your motivation back and utilize your band the way it's meant to be used.

  6. i totally agree with you, but know you are gonna get some slack for this post, but who cares! LOL! The lap band requires sooooo much after care and follow up i dont understand why anyone would get this procedure done and not have access to your doctor. that just boggles my mind...but to each his own!

  7. @ 2muchfun....i even tried slider foods and they were a no go.

thanks everyone for the support. i finally got a hold of the doctor and i'm goin in today at 2:15 for another unfill...he needs to really explain to me what patients are supposed to do in case of an emergency cuz there current system doesnt work! i'm just glad my job was understanding and i get to see the doc today.

  8. yes you are not alone. maybe you're afraid of the pressure of maintaining when you get to goal, this way you are always working towards your goal. i know for me to shop on the regular side of the clothing store still freaks me out and i almost have a panic attack. i still cant make myself go into store that dont sell plus sized clothing as well as regular. i totally understand you.

  9. thanks momomia..i am now able to get liquids down, but i am on liquids till tomorrow..almost afraid to try solids, so i think i'll just ease my way into mushies and soft foods first,. i can help but wonder if this heat in chicago is making my band worse too. what has been your experience with high tempertures and your band.

  10. there are different levels of stuck for me. it's usually self inflicted, but right now my band is too tight so almost everything except liquids are getting stuck.

first level. like the above poster stated it's uncomfortable and will just pass in a few minutes.

2nd level. very painful and will pass in a longer amount of time

3rd level. not going anywhere unless i make myself throw up.

    not pleasant, but totally avoidable.

  11. i worked for several different companies during the 5 years i researched the lap band and no one covered wls. i finally decided i would have to be self pay if i was ever gonna get it. i got a credit card thru my credit union and i promise you that is one bill i happily pay every month..praying things turn around in your favor!

  12. thanks suzbuni! i totally feel you on loving the size 12's! yes we can do this. i got a fill on monday and i was soooo sick yesterday, but i know it's cuz my body had totally slipped into old habits and was used to eating whatever, that when i went on liquids it was in shock. i think my blood sugar must have dropped seriously, i thought i was going to pass out. so since monday i'm down 2 pounds. my band is kinda tight, but i am gonna stick it out and get to that size 10 by august! yes we can do this, please keep me posted on your journey.
