  1. LOL that is funny... during week 2 after my surgery, i was asking my friend what he ate cuz I was living vicariously through him and the funny thing was, it didn't sound appetizing!!
  2. Wow!! You look so pretty!!! and I love the dress!!!
  3. I was sleeved 2 days after you, on the 14th, and I can hardly get down 1/4 cup of mushy food... a couple of days ago I tried 2 tsp of mushy quiche, and it felt like it got stuck...then I got hiccups.... so i made the HUGE mistake of taking a couple of tiny sips of Water and ended up throwing up.... After reading what everyone has written I realize I ate too fast, didn't chew enough and that my body just wasn't ready..... Today I ate less than 1/4 cup of super soft scrambled eggs (YAY --- MY FIRST NON Soup MEAL--- that actually stayed down).... and i took tiny bites with my tiny fork and chewed it really well, and didn't drink anything... and i managed to keep it down.... I did feel like an elephant was sitting on my chest but about 10 minutes later I burped a few times and I felt so much better!!
  4. My doctor put me on Soups and mushies 5 days post op... 2 Tbsp of mashed potatoes is nothing to worry about!
  5. Yay!!! I'm so excited to take part in my first challenge!!!!!! My goal is a little high, but I love a good challenge!! It will give me something extra to work towards!!!! I'm reposting this so that I'm starting at my weight Monday, April 25. Plus I made the mistake of putting my starting weight as my Sleeve starting weight, not the challenge starting weight.. Ooops!! I'm ready to rock this!! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Starygrl..........285..................285...........225..........60
  6. Great to know LMD and NJMOMof2.... i have really long hair, down to my butt, that is naturally very thick, but ironically, I had it majorly thinned out the last time i got it cut in early March.... opps... So now I worried about losing too much... I normally shed a LOT and I regrow fast, but I'm not sure if that will keep up since my body is stressed from the surgery... I figure any boost to regrowth that I can get will be awesome! So thanks for the advice!!!!! And LMD great to know about the nail... mine have always been so weak that I keep them super short, maybe with the biotin they will thicken !!
  7. Congrats!! And I read on some health site that the average overweight man loses 1 inch per 35-50 pounds he is overweight due to the 'fat pad'.....
  8. Easy... Your friend in CA invited you for a visit and got you both a weekend at a high-end spa for the weekend.. easy peasy.... That will explain it easily... Oh... and CONGRATS!!!!! You are making a great decision!!! I did mine 10 days ago... I've only lost 11 pounds, but I know it will come off!!!
  9. Day 5 post op my doctor said I could eat mushies... I didn't try until today.. day 9.. and I thought I was going to die... I took 2 really small bites of mushy quiche.. just the egg part..i chewed well and it just seemed to get stuck somewhere along the way.... it gave me hiccups, to i took a tiny sip of Water.. then ended up in the bathroom puking.... I'm going back on liquids for 2 more weeks to give the swelling time to go down then I'm going to do mushies... I'm just going to stick with the Cornell VSG Diet Guidelines.. here's a link: http://www.sleeveguide.com/new-post-op.html Just do whatever makes you feel comfortable.... and good luck!!
  10. Yay!! Congrats!!! That is soooooooo awesome!!!
  11. Wow!!! Awesome news Coops!!! Congrats!!!
  12. Yay!!! I'm so excited to take part in my first challenge!!!!!! My goal is a little high, but I love a good challenge!! It will give me something extra to work towards!!!! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Starygrl..........298..................290............230............60
  13. Kids05------Since you can't do shakes or anything, just stick with G2 and Smart Water.. they have electrolytes and will keep you from becoming dehydrated.... remember to drink small amounts every 15 mins and you should be fine..... right now we really don't need calories cuz we have enough fat stored up in our bodies... good luck!!!
  14. Hi~!!! Welcome!!! LOL about this board being more addictive than facebook!! I love how we can use our status updates to say things we might be able to tell those around us, and there are so many supportive and wonderful people.. this site rocks!!! BTW: I live in Korea, and I'm surrounded by these tiny little people.... (ok I'm 5'8", not tall, but I rarely meet a woman who is even close to my height).. and some lady will come up to me, scan me from toe to head like some creep checking me out... and then will say,,, "you're fat!!" and sometimes I say, "ohh, really, i didn't know that" while acting shocked... Other times I will tell them I can go on a diet, but they need plastic surgery to look halfway pretty... it depends on the mood I'm in
  15. That is really terrible~!!! I had really bad diarrhea for 3 days post op, and the doctor said it is a common side effect of the barium swallow for the leak test!! Hope you feel better soon!!
  16. Hi everyone!! I have a question about biotin... I'm about to order some on Walgreens.com and I was wondering how many mgs I should have and if anyone found a brand that really worked for them... Thanks bunches!!
  17. Thank you everyone for your responses!!!!! They have been so very very helpful~!!!!!! Since I got home 2 days ago, I've been downing G2.... or G2 mixed with a little bit of cranberry juice (it's cocktail though, so just a little cuz of the amount of sugar)... the cranberry really goes surprisingly well with G2 kinda grapefruit taste... I've been doing chicken broth.. and nothing has EVER tasted so good!! I tried beef broth= gross.. and then beef broth with mushroom broth= okay.... I've also been drinking some Korean brand of Protein shake made with milk, but I think I'm going to switch to Water cuz of the amount of carbs I've been getting.. about 40 a day... I want to stay under 30.... The main thing for me is that I'm not drinking regular water... I've been using Smart Water... even in my Protein shakes (cuz I use powdered skim milk and just blend in my little blender). @Starry--- I feel the same way!! I love how supportive you all are!!! My family and the majority of my friends don't know, so you all have been a lifesaver to me!! oh, and someone else said this before, and I feel the same... every time I read your glitter comment, I cant help but smile.... thanks!! @TijuanaPlication--- I'm so glad you recommended miso!! I love miso so much and never thought about it!!! I'm off to make some miso now!!! Yippee!!!
  18. Wow!! You look so pretty!! Thanks for sharing your sprout updates with us!!! I'm really grateful, as I'm sure everyone else who is hoping to conceive after having this surgery is.
  19. I'm 4 days post-op and there is a feeling like hunger, but it's just my stomach telling me "hey, I'm empty... give me something to gurgle"... so i down 1 small shot glass of Water or G2 and i'm full.. for the next 30 mins or so.... But head hunger.. yep it is still there..
  20. Sounds great!! Don't forget about the carbs in the milk!!!
  21. Yay!! Great news!!! I'm glad you are ok!!!
  22. I think it is awesome!!!!! I think every person on this site needs to go out and buy a goal outfit~!!! If you haven't done so, GO SHOPPING ASAP!!!! We all need some thinspiration!!!!
  23. Sorry, I know this is a common question, and read a great thread about it before my surgery, but now I'm sitting in the hospital and cant find it.... I had my surgery 2 days ago, and today is my first day on liquids... all they've given me is barley tea.. So, can you tell me what you were drinking 3,4,5, or 6 days post-op.... Anyway, what were you drinking and how much, and how often??? Thanks in advance!!!! could I drink a little Vitamin Water??
  24. So, I want the clothes and the better sex I also want my migraines to reduce (they will never go away, I've had them since elementary school) and I want my asthma to reduce ... I'm sure my lungs will work better if there is less blood being pumped through my big fat body to oxygenate of course it wont go away either, but an improvement will be nice oh, and my low blood pressure to improve !!!! no more fainting when I stand up too fast or look up at the ceiling would be lovely... and these gorgeous blue suede thigh-high boots I saw online the other day....
