The Visalus shakes are AMAZING! I started them before I knew I was going to be able to have surgery. They have different flavor packets or you can go plain. Plain tastes like cake batter. They are great and not soooo expensive.

WoooHooo! I had the same thing! Sleeved 11/14 at 218 & weighed in at 187 today!!

I got approved!!! After 10 months, 2 denials, countless phone calls & faxes I got approved!!! I am soooooo excited I can hardly stand it... Thank you all for your support in this very long process!
I will be joining the November group!! Wow, I can't believe it!

Congrats! I was just sleeved on Monday!!! I was surprised by the pain at first but it only lasted about 24 hrs then I felt pretty good. Now that I am at home I feel much better!! Good luck & here's to a speedy recovery! For both of us LOL

So today I went back to work after 4 weeks & 28lbs... one of my coworkers (male & a great guy) walked up behind me and said, "Geez, where did the other half of your ass go" LOLOLOLOL
It was so funny, but made me feel good! He is one of my best friends at the office & the only one that could say something like that & not piss me off...

I was sleeved on 11/14 & totally went through the same thing! When I told him I was looking into the surgery he was not happy, of course he is the same size as he was in high school (he's 46)! Anyway, it worked out that it took 10 months to get approved because we had time to talk... When I got my surgery date he said that he was neutral about it, but would be better once I woke up.
He refused to meet the surgeon etc, and at the hospital he was tense, but true to his word once I was out of recovery he was amazing. Now I hear him talking to his friends about how proud of me he is & how great I look!
They are proud men & don't like to admit that they are scared something will happen to us... Now 4 weeks out & 25lbs gone WE have no regrets!

First, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Second, I weighed myself this morning & I hit 199.8!!!! WooooooHooooooo! I was sleeved on the 14th & lost 6 lbs on the pre-op diet and am down 19lbs in like 3 weeks!! And if that weren't enough I am down a full pants size & am wearing jeans I have never worn before cuz they were too small!!
This is the best Thanksgiving ever!!!

Hello everyone! I was sleeved on Nov 14th & just now found this board! Sooooo glad I did... Anyway surgery went great, I spent 2 nights in the hospital, and the only complication was a huge hiatal (sp?) hernia they found! Maybe that explains my stomach pain & nausea that they kept trying to say was my gall bladder... I'm just glad it is fixed!
I've been recovering well, just having an issue getting all the Water & protien supplements in on a daily basis... My dr said to focus on liquids first for now so that is what I am doing!
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you, it looks like I had some company on the 14th!

Well, ladies... I am sitting in the surgical waiting room, the Dr Is running about 45 min late! Don't they know I am not a patient person & that I haven't had anything to eat or drink since midnight!!
Oh well, patience is a virtue I guess I need more of...
Hopefully I will feel with it enough to update you this evening, if not I will try again in the morning.

I am so excited for my surgery tomorrow! I have about an hour before I go to liquids till midnight then nothing till surgery! It is such a weird feeling to have fought for this for 10 months and it is finally happening...
WoooooHooooo!

So I was one of those ppl who was about to submit to the insurance when BCBS of IL changed the requirements from 3 months to 6 months so I decided to just do a 6 month with my Dr. Well, yesterday was the final visit so it is gonna be resubmitted next week! I am so nervous that it won't go through... my BMI was just over 40 when I started so I should be fine, but I just want to know for sure!! Even though I can't have surgery till November because of work...
