  1. Yeah, that sounds much better than my 3 to 4 proten shakes a day and water. It was a long 2 weeks!
  2. If I had a dollar for everytime I heard, "you've got such a pretty face, if only you'd lose weight." I'd be rich. Too many people don't know when to just shut up. Try not to let it get thebest of you. I'm a work in progree myself and I've come to the realization that no matter who hurts me, I have to keep moving forward. I have to live wth me the rest of my life, not them.
  3. I have that problem on mornings I work. I surgeon suggested protein bars. I wouldn't choose a 300 calorie one. I like the pure protein bars. They are 180-200 cals and 20 protein. Also, followng your surgeons guidlines, do what works for you. If the weight is coming off...keep goin in that direction. If it stalls or goes up, its time to make some adjustments in what your eating and your workouts.
  4. What kept me focused was the purpose of the diet. Its designed to shrink your liver, making the surgery easier for the doctor and safer for you. I wanted to have every advatage I could have. It was hard, but so worth it. I also got right out of bed and walked. They let me walk while my post op antibiotic was infusing. I refused to even lay in the bed in my room. I was determined not to stay there long. You will do great. Keep focusing on the prize. My prize its been 6 month, I've lost 68 pounds. I feel like a brand new person. Good luck and hang in there.
  5. Soooo happy to hear that! I just got a fill an I'm at 4.2 cc. I just ate about 3 oz of yogurt and I'm stuffed. Its freakin awesome! :-)
  6. My doctor has had his band 9 years.
  7. Ok, I get that you are trying to make a frustrating situation better. My husband and I are both nurses and would never consider this. We have a nurse friend that started do her own fills. Long story short, major infection that led to removal of band. Not worth it. Also, it as so infected it had to be an OPEN surgery, so the scar ain't pretty.

  9. She is great. I often search her website for recipes. I haven't seen the show yet. Ill have to check it out
  10. I found gummy b complex vitamins. Taste like strawberry. I think I got them at Target. :-)
  11. I'm from florida too. Dr. Grossbard did my band as well!
  12. Awesome! I'm very much in love with my band too!
  13. Hey Jen. Last year this time I, with many discussions with my husband signed up for the lap band seminar. I read the forums, watched many hours of you tube videos made by other bandsters. I read everything I could get my hands on about the band. In april I had my band placed and I wish I had done this 10 years ago. I'll be 30 this year and for the first time I feel I have control over food. I am a lucky one to get awesome restriction with 1 fill. I don't feel deprived or that I'm dieting. I've become obsessed with Water instead of soda. With all of that I've lost 50 pounds. I have a lot of weight to loss but I finally feel like I'm getting somwhere. I'd reccomend finding a surgeon in your area, get to a seminar and come with questions. I took my husband with me so he could feel involved. He is my biggest cheerleader. I live in florida also. North of Tampa. Where do you live?
  14. Everyone at my job wanted to give me their opinions. Now that I'm 4 months out they just tell me how great I look. It all blew over, although it did annoy me. I took this opportunity to do some education with my fellow nurses, who were mostly misinformed.
