  1. oh yeah the first celebration is getting home!! and especially to ur own comfort zone:) Well, try the Protein shake by the start of week 2 again, if it gives u the same feeling then postpone it but if it gave u the same feeling on ur 3rd week then I suggest trying a new one. What kind of Protein Shake are using? some people become lactose intolerance after the surgery for quiet sometimes. For me I handled my protein shake sooo well, I add some yogurt and milk then blend blend! protein protein! LOL So excited for u!! Keep up this positive spirit
  2. I started eating soft and somehow solids but not cruel solids at week 3. the only thing I tried out of what u are asking is CHIPS! I had one.. and it didnt bother me. I think Hamburger and pizza topping (meat) will be too much for u to handle now, give it a week or more .. try mushing ur stuff. best of luck
  3. WOW! congrats on ur 100 LBS! .. and FYI thats why exactly I chose not share my journey with anyone except with those who will understand! like you all here:)
  4. Congrats!! I am so excited for all of us looking forward to what this journey will bring! from most I am hearing and experiencing myself, It gets amazing and easier everyday! Best of luck!!
  5. oh yeah liquids makes huge difference dear.. Water is my only way -when I had the band and stalled for too long - to flush out all the extra water and bad stuff in my body.. really live like a fish! to be able to break this stall.. how many fruits are having daily? I will try to shake things up if I was in ur place:) - If u are doing 2 miles and trying for more just try adding intensity instead.. interval training is also great. Also u can try the elliptical instead of the treadmill. - If u are logging ur food intake take a second look, there must be something triggering ur weight loss. sometimes it is the tiniest thing! for me it was the extra latte I get. Congrats on ur NSV!!! I am sure u have always been pretty!
  6. Congrats!!!! And WELCOME BACK HOME:) I cant answer ur first question they got mine out at my 3rd day at the hospital I was allowed to protein shakes by the 2nd week post op, but each doctor got his plan.. did u give u some guidlines on ur way home? First week protein intake wasnt a big deal for my doctor, all he cared about that I stay hydrated! at least 1.5- 2 litre of water a day.. Although he told me that broth of chicken or beef gives u some protein .. Milk is an awesome source of protein too. My suggestion is that u try to SIP SIP SIP!! hydration is the key of surviving the first few days.. and every week will bring u more surprises with all the swelling going down u will be able to drink easier and more.. BEST OF LUCK !!
  7. almost three post op Breakfast: Salmon and cheese Vitamins Snack: protien shake GNC with milk less than 1/4 cup of milkLunch: salmon and shrimp sashimi Dinner : sometimes eggs yolk with cheese just one yolk and other days sashimi of shrimp and salmon
  8. are u anywhere near getting ur period soon? did u increase ur salt intake.. its probably water dear.. whats ur typical day food intake?
  9. As others said, Chicken might be hard for u now.. I rely on fish.. do u like fish? lots of protien in it and u can flake it in some white cheese to make it easier to go down and tastier:) I am sorry you are going through all of this, but can I give u 2 suggestion from my band and sleeve experience so far.. NEVER take Vitamins on empty stomach, whenever I Do that I feel like I wanna vomit when I Start eating next. try fitting your vitamin after ur first real (puree - mashed) food not just drinks my second suggestion is to ask ur doctor for anti vomiting meds.. they really help. Does the food come up cause it feels lke it was too much or are u nauseated? I know u will be feeling way better soon! just explore more food and introduce it to ur diet. how is ur energy level? u say u arent hungry and thats normal my friend but do u feel like u are out of energy? that when u need to really eat. I hope u feel better soon and I know if u just push urself further with more food varieties and puree recipe u will be feeling great in no time:)
  10. Sounds like u are perfectly normal to me:)) I cried like hell everyone kissed me before the surgery.. all happy tears not fear U will do great and u are doing this for u and for gaining control on the happy life that awaits u sending u lots of good vibes ur way and post back as soon as u can!!
  11. I am still 2 weeks post op! but believe it or not those are just the worst part of having VSG .. Why I am saying that? cause everyday literally gets better! I am a band to sleeve revision, I feel guilty saying that the band didnt fail me! and I never failed it:) I lose most of my heavy weight on it! but wait a second! all doctors I have been to, to have an opinion about my band removal said the same thing " the band stopped working long ago, it was ur hard work" but believe it or not it wasnt the best work, I was crushed emotionally, deprived of life , starving, binging at other times ( we all know cheating with the band is the easiest thing) but I owe it to the band, I knew when to stop at least! The band had to go.. I knew that after I had my sleeve, till the last day on my band I was mourning its coming loss,. although everyone on this board swear that It had to go.. I still wanted there as my security blanket. Now I know what the worse it could bring.. I always felt pain .. after my exercise especially.. now this pain is gone! it was my port and I didnt know cause it hurted me down under where it was .. do I miss my hungry mornings? NO! I always had a bite of anything and that was it! and the hunger was all i can think of! Do I miss the bloating feeling?! NO! Do I miss the feeling in the late night when I am fighting my hunger? NOOOO! Although I am still early in my sleeve experience but U will know it with your first sip of water! how water goes down! I am not hunrgy! like crazy hungry when I had the band.. I still get hungry but after progressing with ur food intake u feel satisfied right after! and for some time! I have lost 13 pounds in the first week.. nothing in my second and may be no more for a while, but as an old bandster I know this is sooo normal especially I am soo lighter than when I had my band! My first week WAS HELL! my second was MORE HELL! as I had to rely on stuff that always tasted so sweet to me like yogurt and milk. My tongue was like a sweet and sour.. But today after my first FOOD EVER I feel alive! I know I wont be that successful on the long run with all my food trials.. some are gonna suck for me, but at least my first meal gave me the boost.. and life is all about trials and experiences. Havent you been trying food with ur band? I am still weak and I dont know how can I go back to jogging .. but I know I will get there. Now I grabbed my first hershy kiss ever.. didnt feel guilty doing that btw, but I am already not hungry to keep going for another one.. with the band ehm... lol u know what you will be doing. The band isnt evil for me or for anyone cosidering it but you have to be realistic! It wont help u lose that much. VSG may not help me get there but I am not bothered by this now! cause the band didnt help me, I HELPED myself! so I will help me in this new journey! and I have faith I can have the half portion of success I see ppl accomplishing on this board:) If you are revising from band I would totally suggest VSG! you will feel more alive! your body is absorbing your food. you can eat ANYTHING! dont let anyone puts you down when u hear they cant eat that or this! remember ur band misery! (NO CHICKEN NO BEEF AND NO other more stuff) and remember with the band, VSG or even NO WLS you are the only one who is paving the road of ur sucess.. and when I say I may not get to my goal, it is just because I believe I dont have much as others to lose, I practically felt I dont need the surgery and I can do those last pounds on my own! but I KNOW I have the geen of weight problem! so I need a medical help to either stop me there or prevent me from putting more weight or EVEN HELP ME SHED THE POUNDS! It is a disease my friends, nothing to be ashamed of:) Thats my take on the whole thing!
  12. Renee that is awesome news! real happy for u!! enjoy the 200.. I know u will love then until its their time to go:) u have done amazing!!! wish u more success
  13. Congrats on ur weightloss so far!! )) All I can tell u is .. it might be the tiniest thing that is keeping u away from that number! recheck ur food log!! u will find it there:) If not! then it is just a nornal stall!! .. welcome on the stall bench! lol It is ugly I hate it but everyone says it will pass! so it will:) hang in there and keep ur gym activities !! u are doing great
  14. I am in the same boat lost weight the first week then bammm stall stall:)) still in my second week though but I know the feeling coming from a band !! it feels like we did it for 10 pounds and we are back to our band routine of not losing no matter what we do. I think we should hang in there!! and the weight will come off as everyone says on here:)

  24. I would really recommend u to take them, there are plenty , u can find another alternative to it or just break it into 2 half! I think they are essential! I had mine in the hospital and when I got home I was prescribed to take them as shots for three days then moving to augmantin on the 5th day! knowing I stayed 2 days at the hospital! please take them
