  1. 14 LBS are awesome! and welcome to the onderland!! I am so happy for u! but I am really happy for the mental changes that have been occurring to u! loved it when u said.. u made the hang out about conversation not food!! Way to go:)
  2. wow!! THANK U SO MUCH HAVE BEEN mixing the both!! reading lots of short letters all day sometimes gets in the way! lol thanks again:)
  3. I am still NOT SLEEVED! BUT I will tell u one thing!! U shouldnt regret it at all that soon!! Go through other boards and U will find that ppl who were able to keep the weight off with the sleeve are amazing numbers!! I advice u to see this post about RNY to know how fast they lost the weight and how fast they gained it back! just to put ur disappointment to sleep! http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/failed_wls_second_time_around/4290606/I-need-help-losing-it-again/ Also watch this board " FAILURE" and if u found any sleever there complaining please let me know!! Icant find! http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/failed_wls_second_time_around/page,2/ 25 is a BLESS! I know u might have expected more or continous result!! but the same happened to me with my band! Is stopped losing on the 4th week and broke my stall at the 9th!!! give it more time before disappointment starts:) I started feeling this at my 3rd year band! LOL BEST OF LUCK AND WORK UR TOOL please X
  4. I was on OH board and there was a discussion about if someone should go back to their original surgeon for revision.. someone replied that yes they will go back and they did after having this complication with the sleeve: the original post link: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/failed_wls_second_time_around/4280217/How-do-you-feel-about/ Anyone experienced this ??? Should it be something that terrifies me as am considering the sleeve soon?
  5. I have been around all kind of boards lately !! ALL WLS boards! and I found out that 99% of those who had their band to sleeve revision where having band complications (slipping etc etc) and none had it for too long like my case! without complications! and ended up having their band to sleeve revision. So I am wondering is there anyone out here who can share their reasons why they had the revision beside complications? Thank u
  6. Congrats on ur weight loss:) Well if u engage some lunges and squats with ur awesome elliptical regimen it will really starts to pay off in this particular area!! Also I find spinning to be a great help:) Best of luck!!
  7. sending u plenty of good thoughts and prayers:)) best of luck:)
  8. Congrats!!) Hope u reach ur ultimate goal before u know it:)) U are doing really great:) What was ur hardest moments ?
  9. Love your post!!! Best of luck
  10. Thank you so much!! I cant believe how much support this board is giving:) and yes I am always afraid of what am putting in my mouth as u said! and yes I am eating so little!! and finally after speaking with many and receiving ur awesome posts!! I have come to conclusion that it will be so different and so healthy with the sleeve! and that the first 2 weeks are days from hell! but they pass! and that I can get to my goal weight!! u all put so much optimism in my way:) I also had an appointment with another doctor for just a second opinion!! and he told me that I am considered a band success story!!! which really made me feel over the moon.. as my band doctor somehow considered he failed me somehow.. he is a friend to my dad and he mentioned that one day to him that he feels that he didn't do well with me! well the other doctor really said that my doctor was a great one! and he really did a great job with u! He is also convinced that I am gonna get through the sleeve as I had my band to practice some part of what I have to do with the sleeve too. He also believes that the human being should work on their band for maximum 6-8 years as it is very dangerous to keep it in for the rest of our lives.. supposedly the human being is then adapted to new life style and eating habits! My other doctor " the one who didn't perform the band but did the check ups with me and suggested the sleeve" is the one I am having the sleeve with. But my consult doctor is the one who brought up a nice point about WHY U ARE GOING TO LOSE WEIGHT ON UR SLEEVE! He told me .. as we get rid of the gherlin in ur body there is a hormonal balance that happens.. as much as the gherlin is not produced by large amounts in the stomach as before other 2 hormones starts to be produced which are the biggest help to higher ing ur metabolism rates! With the band the gherlin is there and may be always produced in highly amount as u are never ever satisfied! except for feeling restriction.. so by the time.. what ever u do !! the gherlin block the production of the other hormones with good quantity to help your metabolism and thats why some or more ppl experience weight-loss plateaus or may be weight gain! Hope I did well explaining what he said!! AND THATS WHY I AM HAVING MY SLEEVE!! and I will be hoping and praying the first 2 weeks pass so quick!! SO MUCH KISSES FOR ALL OF U HERE XOX
  11. You will get through this!! again speaking from a band experience!! I had my first year drinking through meals!!"yes no one told me about the rule.. I was so unlucky" and then when I learned.. it was hard t first! I was screaming for water! as I get disgustingly thirsty after a bite or two!! but now! It is a piece of cake! I can wait more than an hour after my meals to have water! It needs a little practice! my key was to distract my self for an hour after my meals!! and the feeling went off like this!! I still feel thirsty but not crazy thirsty!! and when u find how good it is to not drink while meals ur brain will always think this way!! and tells u to stay away:) It takes a little practice and u will get there:) best of luck:)
  12. I think I can still speak from my personal experience!! while I am still not sleeved just banded:) Well, I have been going through this , had my all body went down except for this area! which was bugging me! I even remember I signed on for the biggest loser (paid) forums to ask Bob there with a picture pointing to my (unshrinking area) and his response was that It WILL GO AWAY!! I like u , exercise a lot!! and tried to target this area by doing specific moves and work out but believe me! NOTHING WORKS!! it will just be that part that one day u will waking up feeling its starting to go away! I also had a huge belly problem, now I am seeing great difference. So my advice is to keep mixing ur exercise as u are doing and to start taking it up a little every month.. U use treadmill? try the elliptical too!! It shed this part away!! BELIEVE ME! I also had an advice from my trainer back in the states about my belly fat! he told me that it will just melt away while u are heading to ur goal! stressing about them will just bring u a step back! just work ur intensity up 1-2 day a week and go back to intermediate intensity! CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO! was my key!!) hope this helps and best of luck!! AND CONGRATS ON UR AMAZING WEIGHT-LOSS!! Edited to add: I had my pants handed to a tailor:S to be able to wear them!! I am sorry it is a lil bit frustrating but trust me!! I no longer need the tailor! I can purchase a normal 16 size pants now !! so just keep it up also We had a clicnic providing special care for special part in ur body u dont seem to have any luck losing the fat around them! I dont believe in such procedure but its been going on for so long now.. they inject ur parts with special meds that helps burn those fats.. I even find it promoted on the DRS. show! check them out but I personally prefer if u wait and just keep exercising:)
  13. Thanks Lara! this is so informative!! I just replied to you on another topic about my feelings and worries!! Well, It sounds really terrific U are able to swallow better than the band but my main concern as I mentioned on the other reply! If the sleeve gonna make me eat less then lets see what I am eating right now! and compare how am I gonna lose weight on the sleeve, Breakfast: " as we all know .. banded ppl like us are stuck the most in the morning" 1 cup of skimmed latte a bite "1 table spoon" of any of the following " scrambled eggs - bite of bread with cheese - bite of Salmon raw (sashimi) " snack : either nothing or just another cup of skimmed latte Lunch: NOTHING!! I save my allowance to eat for dinner! Dinner: Sashimi (less than 4 oz) or 2 Sushi rolls! Snack: chocolate " I know I am guilty but it is less than 60 calories! I choose small bites of any kind! and some days I dont have it! As far for my exercise : 4-5 days a week! each session consists of either 1 hour of elliptical + 20 mins spinning or Just 1 hour of complete jogging on treadmill I have a bodybugg I purchased while my visit to the states and I can say I burn around 3000 calories a day on my working out days and 2200 a day on my non working out days! So will the sleeve be any different?
  14. Lara that made my day! I have been having horrible mixed feelings!! Am I doing the right thing? Should I give my band another try? may be I am the one failing it not the band failing me.. My band is the same, I have no complications with it Except not being able to eat chicken and other stuff! that are healthy. Also I have been on my band for almost 7 years and I cant deny it helped me lose most of my lost weight up till now. I think my problem is so mental!! I am so attached to my band and I am afraid if I let it go I will fail more! And still I stopped losing for more than 2 years! if I ever lose small amount I gain them so quickly!! I believe ur words so much that I shouldnt stay in the sad/depress phase.. I am really just confused! Will I be eating less than I am already having now?! cause I am eating SOOOOOOOOO little how less can I go!! I cant see how great difference will the sleeve be except from the results I have been hearing here on the board! I took my decision about the sleeve and am not going back but I am not having any great expectations either:(
  15. Hello:) I am wondering about your last words " u are afraid to fail again" I am still banded and looking forward to be sleeved! I am afraid of being a failure at yet another procedure, I see u are already bandless now.. so would u share the feeling with me? How does it feel now?
  16. So hereI am again ... bothering the hell out of you amazing supportive people but please bare with me again! so the decision have been made!! I am going to have a sleeve!! in 3 weeks may be 4 MAX as soon as the money is all there. Talked to my doctor and he just asked me to do some lab tests and other chest and cardio ones too. Also he told me I should go on a diet!! one week before my surgery!! I was like Doctor I have been on a diet forever! LOL he laughed back and he was like I dont wanna put u on a liquid diet for so long so you either go on a strict diet one week before the surgery or just have a liquid diet 4 days before the surgery! he knows liquid diet sucks when I am on a band!!! Now dont get me wrong.. I do believe after reading nearly half of the board that some see that the band makes u have bad food choices which I agree with so much!! but It restricted ur eating one day? I cant get chicken down for example which most of you can't too but if ever I managed too I still dont lose weight or may be have a little gain at the end of the week.. so WHAT IF ! I started eating healthier on my sleeve with restriction ofcourse and I still didnt lose the weight?! Quiet frankly I have been having less than 1000 calories a day for god knows how long now! and I am still flactuating between the same 6 pounds!! even with running involved and everything I still dont see results! Is my body saying its over for u! thats the lowest u can reach?! I know there is no one who can guarantee me I can lose the weight after my sleeve but If my sleeve will just let me eat more comfortably "With restriction" -and comfortably I mean without feeling the stuck food in my throat - and I still consume the same low amount of calories.. then whats the difference it could make with my weight?! I hate to be another failure at another procedure! this might crush my forever .. you know? so let me know your thoughts.. and If I couldnt make myself clear as I mentioned before English is my second langauange please please let me know so I can try to clear it more out! I am still happy but worried, afraid ofcourse of the surgery as usual.. then Excited after seeing the success stories!! I am also terrified of the liquid diet I will have to be on before and after my surgery!! I couldnt get one clear thought out of the board about it! some feel good with certain liquid and others dont! Will I still be able to consume latte? knowing it is skimmed skinny one? I hate citrus stuff like oranges freshly squeezed juice .. so what did u have on ur liquid diet?! before and after? Thanks again !!
  17. Hello Lara, Oh yeah I just paid attention to the date!! I am sure with all the good reviwes down here things have totally change:) thanks for the reassurance:) you are all are great help really Oh chicken and steak are nightmare to me too!! honestly me too! but being stuck and eating poorly as u mentioned can drive anyone mentally crazy Thanks a lot Lara!! truly appreciated X
  18. Dear LilMissDiva .. I will be cheering for you and dont forget to take the before and after pix of ur 5K!! I dont know why most ppl find that that the treadmill is easier than the real road! but I found it totally the opposite:) oh and the fresh air! BEST BEST OF LUCK!! I can totally appreciate normal lazy moments as we are just human beings!! I was afraid I will be dizzy and out of mood all day, U have no idea or may be you do ofcourse how the band sometimes put me in a state of starvation! Yes I eat! but it is either unhealthy "Slider" as you all call it here food or just I avoid the terrible pain of eating! and sometimes when I am really mad! I use the Water cheat:( and feel bloated!and irritated afterward! Your experience made things seem so normal! and I will be considering the Vitamins Texas mentioned here. Oh I totally now what you mean!! its like you are crazy hungry and the first thing you put in ur mouth is stuck there!! Mornings have been my worst nightmare! so do you feel tight too on ur sleeve in the mornings? OMG! you have no idea!!! Thank you so much:))) now I am starting to have sleepless nights remembering my last surgery and what I went through due to pain and how I look now .. and how I will look later!! I am really not asking for not more than 70 LBS down! lol I am sick of being stuck and sick of being called FAT! and really want to start living my life!! I will keep you posted and I have added u on FB:)
  19. Thanks TIFFY!! I spent the day reading off ur blog and ur informative post!! I am so glad:) and I think I will let you know SOON what went on with my doctor appointment:) I will keep reading reading and I think I will always be asking too many questions here too lol Texas Thank you sooooooooooo much!! I will check the pharmacy for them I appreciate ur advice so much cause I am so worried about the calories intake and my Energy level I see ur point clearly and reading into the board somehow ease my worries about removing my band completely:) let alone having hernia I will keep u ladies posted XOX
  20. Oregondaisy , I am really sorry for your friend:( I hope she feels better I am currently reading and asking a lot!! thanks a lot for ur input and have a great Friday best of luck on ur band removal.
  21. Hello LilMissDiva Thank u so much!! for the reply and words of encouragement, Best of luck on ur 5k!! it is the best feeling in the whole world! you must already be so proud of urself for taking this huge step but let me tell u, as soon u cross the finish line that day "no matter when and how fast" you will be totally a new different person with new attitude! even better than the one u already have now! just keep going and keep visualizing ur dream:) Oh man I remember when I ran those 5k I kept cheering at myself alone and going "YES YES I DID IT!" for so long lol I fell down on that marathon, it took place by the pyramids where I live in Egypt and the road there isnt a good running one! and I dragged my friends along and I kept looking back to check on them, and then bammm! I fell!! but I got up and kept going and then after I was done I discovered how bruised my knees were and that I already bent my ankle! but the pain was not felt during the marathon!! adrenaline rush! LOL BEST OF LUCK SWEETY!!! You have such a journey with your band and then now the sleeve! you sound like u are truly in love with the sleeve and all of the good vibe I keep getting out of this board about the sleeve is just breath taking!! Kudos for keeping ur back there to remind u lol ... I seem to be worried if I took off my band I will gain all the weight! It is just the fear of becoming that old girl again!! I think I will need mental therapy lol I have few questions for you, u seem to be hooked on exercise just like I love it too, so how is your energy levels? Cause honestly I feel like I eat soooo little now and fighting with my levels! so what if I got the sleeve and ate fewer than now as some of you are reporting on the board that you can go for only 800 calories a day! .. do u still feel active and ready for ur run? My only fear now is that I will do the surgery and I will still eat the same small amound and never lose the weight!! but ofcourse I will just gain the benfit of not feeling hungry all the time! how much time did ur surgery took? How much time did u need to recover and go down and then also be able to run? Do u have any pain? like on my band I always have a shoulder pain after I eat especially if I had too much!? does the Water rule apply to the sleeve as the band? Thank u so much!! I have added u on FB:) XO
  22. Hello Becca! Thank you sooo Much for taking the time to reply, Hearing the words" my obsession with food is gone" I am sorry I am asking too much!! but I am glad I found such a support group went through exactly what I am going to go through:) Does the sleeve have the same problems? I know from the replies here that I am never hungry but do I feel food sitting in my throat and do u have problem swallowing medical tablets on ur sleeve too? I have read your post yesterday and it was so late.. I needed a morning coffee to sit and write back so here are my thoughts while i was sleeping!! WOW! 42 pounds off in 11 weeks!! and u call that slow!?! u are doing amazing and actually so inspiring:) If I lose like u I will be DAMN CLOSE to my goal weight as u said!! it is like wasting 7 yrs of my life.. but still the band helped somehow " I dont know why I cant hate it with all the bad reviews I have been hearing! I think I am sick lol" Also ur words about losing ur food addiction kept ringing the bell!! thank u thank u!! .. May be the data I found online was indeed old one!! cause u are all doing great here:) Best of luck!
  23. Lily Thanks so much!! ur reply is so much appreciated and others replied to a thread too I posted! u are all so awesome and helpful here. I just cant get the part about the bougie? what exactly is that?
  24. OMG Foxbins!! you are actually saying the same thing my doctor told me!! that those doctors removed wrong parts of the stomach! I am truly reading and researching like crazy and my only hope that this surgery will pay off not that the band didnt paid off but It just helped with half what I have lost but the rest as quoted from my doctor "was done on my own" but it getting impossibly hard to move further or lose any more! it is like I am losing the pound today and gaining it again tomorrow! so u can imagine the effect it leaves on u emotionally! After all what have been said by all of u here and all I have been reading, I am willing to do it! but what if it didnt work? and my body just dont respond as its not responding now. I got used to feeling hungry and unsatisfied all the time but I cant get use to another failed surgery. Sorry for whining too much!! but I need to let my fears go out loud, may be I will find the answer somewhere. thank u again:)
  25. Thanks a lot for insights on the matter Tiffy first off here is one of the links that nearly assured my fear of gaining weight My link Also on one of the documentary on E! they mentioned that some ppl died a day after their sleeve surgeries due to some leaks... I am sorry I am not trying to terrify anyone I am just narrating the stuff I have heard and read. One of my friends told me that one of his friends gained all the weight back too! I was opening millions of links that suggested the same and I came back here to find all these replies WHICH AM MORE THAN GRATEFUL FOR!! My only concern is gaining the weight.. thats why I want to keep the band in case something goes wrong, why throw it when u can have it? .. unless! you have a scientific proof I am better off without it. I am really confused but I am already weighing my options! and going for the surgery! I have wasted more than SEVEN years trying to lose the weight and I seem to be a great fighter with my "inner negative talk" other than that I am losing the battle! I run an hour 3 times week now! lets call it jogging not running, but I am still FAT! even if I feel like I can do lots of work out a slim girl cant do. I am also fearing that if I keep my calories that low after the surgery as I read on the board here it is between 500-800 that I wont have the energy to exercise and frankly thats my only get away in life! it makes me feel great about myself. I keep on reading experiences on this board! I really love it. Thanks again and please bare with me, English is my second language and u must know how it felt to take this decision! so What about sweet tooth? is it a big deal if I sneaked a dessert every now and then? or does it ruin the whole procedure? Here is my progress so far..
