  1. I was allowed as much as I wanted of sf jello. There were days when I ate the whole six pack in addition to all the other liquids but I needed it!
  2. Oh mine was sooooo bad!!! My surgeon did say Immodium and it has helped, it's not gone but it's slowed down and under control. Since I'm only on liquids I imagine until I can have some food I'll have to deal w this.
  3. Congrats! Keep up the losing!
  4. What a great story! He is definitely looking down on you and so very proud! Good luck w surgery.
  5. I found that I had to use a variety of brands and flavors so that I didn't tire of one. I use the Unjury chicken, isopure, profect, Unjury unflavored w various jello flavors.
  6. I am 6 days post op and I sometimes feel like I there's something in my throat that I need to swallow but there's nothing there. I think it's just the swelling.
  7. Ugh what an ordeal, sorry you had to endure that! You mention that your incision was just a little red? What made you think it was infected?
  8. My Surg was Monday and I too am a side sleeper. I have found that my right side is not as sore and I definitely use a number of pillows propped under my belly, chest and between my knees makes it comfortable.
  9. Just sip very slowly. Diluted apple juice tasted good to me the first few days. It was half juice, half water. Just worry about sipping now until you do feel better. I was done Monday and I started feeling better Thursday so it will happen for you too soon. I've now added in the Unjury chicken protein and sone Isopures but I'm just getting what I can handle now, about 20-35 grams a day.
  10. I'm no medical pro but this doesn't sound good. If only for the fact that it will heal and scar much worse than if it were closed. I would definitely call the surgeon.
  11. So glad to hear u r home! Sounds like u have a wonderful family and support system, which is exactly what u need.
  12. One of my favorite things right after surgery was diluted apple juice. It was all natural, no sugar added apple juice and I diluted it half and half with water. Hit the spot for me.
  13. I think that is what I will have to do too. My first goal is 199 and then once I achieve that I will set a new goal. Thanks!
  14. Sorry having technical issues! Anyway, the surgeon I used would do the supervised diet for insurance requirements. They told me most INS requires now, some are 3 mos some are 6. If you want to have INS pay then you will have to follow their rules. Some people go self pay and don't worry about what INS requires. But you could still run into your surgeon requiring you to do a Pre op diet. Good luck
  15. Yeah my surgeon will do the supervised diet if his patients need it.
  16. I have no idea what goal weight to set. How did you decide? I'm afraid to go too low, as in what the charts say I should weigh, because I've never weighed that and I don't want to fail. Did you just set small goals along the way?
  17. Very good! My first two days home I just did clear liquid that tasted good to me and that was apple juice. Day 3 was a new story and I started some protein then. You're doing fine but I'd b careful w the shakes.
  18. I hear ya! I did ask my family to please not eat in front of me during mybore op diet, that seemed to help some. It will get better.
  19. It's hard to say what she may be doing but another possibility is that she is drinking while she eats and everything is sliding through and not filling her up.
  20. Good news! I'm glad it worked out. These gas pains are killer, I agree!
  21. The first day of pre op diet is hard, really hard because you are breaking the carb addiction and lower calories and fat. It does get easier, by day 3 you will be fine.
  22. The biggest help to me was to slow down! I thought I was going slow but I would foam and dry heave, just miserable. The worst times were when I was trying to take any medicine, because it was crushed or split I just wanted to get it over with and went too fast. I started measuring my fluids to 2 ounces and set a 20 min timer after each 2 oz and I would wait that 20 mins before taking any more. It helped me to realize I needed to slow down. Good luck
  23. Had my surgery on Monday and my gel nails were not a problem at all. But some sallons will put a base cost of acrylic on under the gel so make sure yours are pure gel.
