  1. I will have to try the pudding trick. I have tried several kinds and don't care for any of them. They were ok pre op. I gag it down because I HAVE to. Thanks for the hints.
  2. I HATE YOU!!!! I can't stand the way you taste or smell. You can be chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or cookies and cream. I still disgust you!!!! Your version of a shot is awful too. The only reason I do your shot is because it is 3 oz instead of 6!!!! I love my hair and strength and that is the only reason I will continue to use you!!!!! :lol0:
  3. Glad everything is going well. The 2nd day was rough for me too. Between the drugs and gas, I was miserable or asleep. Gas X strips are an amazing thing. Walking helps too. So like everyone else says... WALK WALK WALK... While you are home rest even if you feel great, I overdid and last week I paid for it....
  4. Glad all went well with the family. The family issue is one thing I am so glad I did not have to deal with. Everyone was on board and supported 100%. Now the significant other is a totally different story but he is coming around. I guess he has to be because the deed is done. :tongue_smilie:
  5. I was submitted on a Wednesday and had approval by Friday morning.
  6. I did 3 mos with a dietician, 1 nutrtional eval, pt, and met with the doctor each visit. I did one psych eval and was approved. My surgeon's office had the dietician, doctor and pt all in one. So I only had to pay one copay. I have Aetna Select.
  7. I work with preschool children and everyone tells me I have lost a toddler.
  8. Every fourth Saturday of the month, Doctors Hospital (by White Rock Lake) has a bariatric support group. It is from 1030 am-12 pm. It is open to the community.
  9. I am like Maddie, I HAVE to take mine at night or the reflux wakes me up. Reflux is a very new experience for me and it sucks!!! :confused1:
  10. I, too , have Aetna and my paperwork was submitted on a Wednesday and I had approval by Friday morning. My surgery was 2 months later because of how busy my surgeon was.
  11. Hi and welcome. I have aetna too. My paperwork was submitted on a Wednesday and I had my approval by Friday. Hopefully it won't take two weeks. Good Luck on your journey!!!!
  12. WUWHOOOO!!!! Congrats to you!!!! I hit 30 lbs today!!! I was so happy!!! I started pro op 8/9 and lost 19lbs and have lost 11 since surgery on the 16th. It is the best feeling!!!! EVERYONE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!!!
  13. Sleeve 4 Me--- GOOD LUCK tomorrow and hope you have a speedy recovery!!!!
  14. Prayers coming your way!!!! Good luck tomorrow and a speedy recovery!!!!
  15. I love my body pillow. I am a side, stomach sleeper. It helped me to ease the pain of my incisions as well. It can't hurt to try to see what comforts you... Sleeve 4 me- you are only a few days away, are you nervous, excited?
  16. WOW!!!! Dana got you scheduled quick!!!! You have to start your liquid diet on the 3rd!!! It is tough but doable. I lost 19 lbs from the liquid diet. Eat everything you love in the next few days!!!! Where is your surgery scheduled for? I had mine at Pine Creek... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :001_rolleyes:
  17. Hello and Welcome from a fellow Barker's Babe... I was sleeved last Monday (8-16). :biggrin2:
  18. I was sleeved on the 16th as well. 2nd day was rough because I had a bad gas bubble and vomiting. I almost did not get to go home. I am getting alot of fluids down and broth. Protein shakes are so nasty to me and I really liked them on my pre op. I am trying really hard to get them down. I went and got protein shots that are only 3 oz and gag those down just to get the protein in. I know this will get better. I don't really have any other problems except for the gas which is slowly going away. I can say very happily I am down 28 lbs since Aug 9 when I went on my pre op diet. (19 from pre op and 9 since surgery) Good Luck!!!!
  19. I had surgery the day before you and mine was instant when I woke up. I have had no other pain but gas pain. It is sslllloooowwwwlllyyyy reliving but it is hendering me getting alot of liquids down. Be glad you don't have any pains. Good Luck!!!
  20. I had my surgery on Monday (Aug 16). I was the talk of the floor because I was up and moving fairly quickly and had little pain. It didn't last long though, nausea set in and I was gone.:scared0: They had to give me phenegren and it knocked me out. It was hard for me to drink after my upper GI came bad clear. I would fall asleep trying to sip down my water. As soon as it would go down it would come back up. So not fun!!! I am home now and doing better. I am up and walking and sipping as much as I can. I have a gas bubble that is a beast. Nothing is helping it come up. I have taken gas-x strips and my mom has even patted me on the back like a baby. It is holding on for dear life. Hopefully it will come out soon so I can get more liquids down. :001_smile:
  21. Dansha, THANK YOU and GOOD LUCK to you as well!!! I will save ya a seat on the bench!!!!!
  22. Thank you all for the well wishes. I will def. update as soon as I am able. I am getting my bag ready now.
  23. I had to be on mine for a week. All I could have were Protein shakes with 14 grams of sugar or less, low Fat cream soups strained, broth, Water with sugar free drop ins, unsweet tea and coffee, and sugar free popsicles. I could have all of those that I wanted so I was never hungry. I ate or drank until I was satisfied. I did 3 shakes a day and a can of Soup at lunch and broth at night if I had the urge to eat. If I felt I needed a snack at night I ate a popsicle. I kept my self really busy so I wouldn't think about food. It is not easy because you want everything you didn't eat the week before. I craved a pbj for the first 2 days. Anyone who is on a liquid or getting ready to start hang in there. It really is not as bad as it seems. Many Blessings to All!!!!
  24. I have aetna. I did 3 dietician visits and one nutritional eval visit. I started in March. The way mine worked was just some time in the month. I did one in March, One in April, One in May and my nutritional eval in May. I only saw the psychologist once.
