New Journey
Welcome Billie Jo, I hope that you have a great outcome with your insurance! Having the sleeve done is one of the best things I've ever did. It's a life changer! I know that once you are approved, it's only up from that point for you! Good Luck

First Day Back At Work
I think it may be your hernia Samantha. What are you taking for the gas?

First Day Back At Work
Its weird because my pain has been minimal up until now. Like on a scale from 1 to 10 my pain level was a 1 for the most part since I left the hospital, but sitting here at work.... I don't know if it's the chair I am in or what but my tummy muscles hurt really bad. Then it doesnt help that I'm dealing with gas. Why me??? lol. My pain level is about a 5 or 6 give or take. It's manageable. When I feel like I want to scream, I get up and walk around, or pretend like I'm walking to the bathroom which seems to help. I have my protein, my water and everything but I am still experiencing pain, I really think it's the incisions area on the left thats causing all this pain. That is going to be your problem area if you are having pain.

First Day Back At Work
So, Today is my first day back at work... alot of people are looking at me like hey I thought you had weightloss surgery??? It's very comical. I personally am enjoying the looks. I think it's funny that they thought I would loose like a billion pounds in a week and 4 days. I can't wait to go home either because the pain that I had avoided all this week has returned! Like sitting here at this desk is so painful, I can't wait to take my meds and sleep. Noon can't get here fast enough!!! How are you guys doing today? Feeling good? Candace P.S. I wanna go shopping....

6 days and counting
Good luck on your surgery next Tuesday! Thanks for sharing your story. I never realized how many people actually had issues with the band. I know of 2 people personally and one of them is going to get a revision soon. Getting sleeved seems to be the way to go! I'm newly sleeved and I'm very happy that I did it. Take care.

23 and sleeved
Hello guys, I'm 23 years old and I was sleeved last Monday. I must say I'm feeling almost 100% better. All my incisions are closed and healing well, I have mild to no pain and I have been able to move around, dance, and feel absolutely free since surgery. I'm not sure if my age plays a big roll in it, but my mom is so scared that I'm going to hurt myself but I keep assuring her I have no pains. She keeps reinforcing the fact that I just had major surgery to get me to relax and heal, but I feel what's best for me is to keep moving and that way I will heel faster. To all of you who are thinking about getting this procedure done and you have you doubts- it's worth it. The pain that you may or may not endure is worth it. I would do it all over again if I had to. I'm only a week and 2 days out and I've already lost 13lbs!! I also know that I may stall at some point in my weighloss but at this point in time im ready for whatever may come my way. What excites me the most is getting close to my half way mark. I hope that my rambling helps someone. Candace

It's Me Again- Feeling 90% better
Yes the gas has been bad (sorry for scaring you) lol. Also try gas-x, this too has been wonderful. I'm still struggling with gas issues and constipation but they are no longer ruling my life.

It's Me Again- Feeling 90% better
I spent the day trying everything I could think of to get rid of this gas. I accomplished the mission! YAY!!! It took, miralax, prune juice, and a freakin fleet's enema, but hey- tasked accomplished. I'm so happy now. I also took pictures of how I looked the day before surgery and I took a comparison pic just now (exactly a week after) and the difference is astounding! Like, my stomach area alone looks alot smaller. I started out at 312 pounds (pre-op diet) and today when I weighed myself, I was at 279lbs. I'm amazed. I intend on stepping away from the scale for a while because I know that soon enough there will be the "dreadful stall" and I'm ok with that. I think I'm going to go back to work on Tuesday, so tomorrow I'm going to spend the day resting. I hope that you all have a great week ahead of you and some interesting stories along the way. Take Care, Candace

Feeling alot better now that I'm past the constipation and gas. I know, too much information but it was horrible. Now I'm finally feeling relief , I feel like I could go dancing or something. I'm enjoying the sugar free popsicles and sonic ice It's good to hear that you are doing well Don!

No hunger, yet no fullness
i'm following my doc's instructions on the full liquids for the next 2 wks, thank you guys for all the encouragement cause I sure do need it
-
No hunger, yet no fullness
I'm slightly annoyed right now. I'm not hungry, but even while drinking full liquids, I don't know when to stop. (if that makes any sense at all). I'm really grouchy today, It will be a week tomorrow since my surgery date and I'm just not happy right now. I'm constipated, I'm hungry, I don't feel satisfied. My hormones are just out of wack. The nurse who was watching over me at the hospital called to ask if I was ok or had any problems that she could help with, and I told her yes I'm constipated and she tells me I should call the doctor tomorrow and see what he suggests, why the hell would she even ask me if she could help me if she couldn't???? UGH! I'm done ranting for now. Candace

Hospital Stay and After
They put me on oxygen as well. I think it may have had something to do with me continuously pushing the morphine button. I remember hearing the nurse say, don't take your hand off of this button, so I didn't and then at some point, I remember them shoving oxygen tubes up my nose.... hmmm...lol. I have a very blurry memory of my first night in the hospital, but around midnight, I had to get up every 30 minutes until about 8 am to go potty, they kept giving me fluids through that i.v. and at that same time they also took the morphine away which i'm thankful for cause I think it's what caused me to be nauseous (I couldn't hold anything down, including the melted ice chips).
