Am mI the ONLY one who DOESN'T weigh everyday/week?
I was banded on July 22nd and am down 12 pounds since then, WooHoo! My surgeon and nutritionist recommended that I weight myself only once a week except when I get my first fill and start solid foods. My surgeon informed me that getting back to solid foods makes some gain weight and to avoid a huge shock, he recommended I weight myself every other day for a couple of weeks just to keep a good mind set and to be aware of what and how much I'm eating and possibly gaining. After the initial (possible) weight gain then he said to go back to once a week.

Keeping Lap Band a Secret
Wow! I feel like I'm the only one who shared it with the world! lol I told everyone -- even people I don't know personally because I posted it on my Facebook page. I've had nothing but positive responses to it and a lot of support!! I'm only 2 weeks post-op so I can't say much as far as success but please tell people. You shouldn't feel ashamed that you're taking steps to take your life back and get healthier. SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS -- And if they don't like it, they can kiss your soon to be shrinking ass! Hugs.

Any July 2011 Bandsters?
So, tomorrow is it for me!! I don't know if I'm crazy or what but there isn't one ounce of scared or nervous for me, it's all excitement!! I've had one bout of anxiety and that was Sunday morning, but I'm pretty sure it was because I was at my sisters house (Who had Gastric Bypass last Wednesday) and seeing how much pain she was in. Obviously GB is more invasive but I'm thinking I can do this! I GOT THIS!! I have many tattoos and I had a Cesarian when my daughter was born ... how much worse could it be?! I don't think it'll be worse -- or so that's what I"ll keep telling myself. I still have the fear of my doctor looking inside of me and seeing something wrong that he can't perform the procedure but I guess that's normal? I don't know. But one thing I do know is that I could REALLY go for a nice, juicy hamburger right about now! lol BTW -- If anyone has Facebook, I don't mind adding Banded friends. www.facebook.com/kimberly.pacino. Hugs and Happy Thursday!!

Any July 2011 Bandsters?
Getting banded on FRIDAY! So excited -- more excited than scared, actually! I'm on my liquid diet, and though I've cheated a few times :X, I'm pretty positive everything will go smoothly. I quit smoking in December 2010 because my surgeon asked me too but I'd suuuuuuure love a few right now! Good Luck to everyone and I hope to see some progress pictures, I'm sure I will post some too. Hugs.

newly lap banded
Hey there! I haven't had my surgery yet so I can't give any ideas as to the after diet but everything I've read suggests that banders are able to return to work after a week -- or at least that's what I'm hoping for! lol Here is a link that was posted in another thread for July banders: http://www.longviewregional.com/weightloss/Documents/LapBandPostOpDietMealPlan.pdf Hope it helps! Hugs and Congratulations!!

Starting My 2 Week Pre Op LIQUID Diet ........Pray 4 me!
My doctor told me to use Benefiber but I've been taking the Fiber Choice sugar free assorted fruit tablets. They're actually not bad!! Good Luck!!

Starting My 2 Week Pre Op LIQUID Diet ........Pray 4 me!
I'm at the tail end of my 2 week diet, my surgery is on Friday. I'm not going to lie, it was hard and I did cheat a few times. Now I'm hoping it didn't mess anything up and my surgeon continues with surgery! Good Luck, it's so worth it in the end. And with being able to have unlimited broth, Jello and crystal light and such -- you really never do go hungry!

Pain After Lap Band Surgery
I'm so glad I found this because I've been worried about the pain as well. My sister just had Gastric Bypass and I helped her out the first few days and she was in a lot of pain ... I know it's a more invasive surgery, so I knew it would be less painful. I have my surgery on Friday and feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better that I won't be in too bad of shape. I'm hoping to return to work before the first week is up, though they're very flexible and I can take all the time I need. Cheers to a new lease on life!

New to site and excited for the future!
CONGRATULATIONS and Thank you, I'm so excited! I keep thinking in my head that something will go wrong and my doctor won't perform the surgery! lol How are you feeling? Have you gone back to work yet? What can I expect the first week, if you don't mind sharing your experience. Hugs.

So the Journey Begins
Hello, my name is Kim and I'm also addicted to food. I started my journey in October of 2010 and am finally having surgery on Friday. You have plenty of time to surround yourself with a positive support system and once you have the surgery you'll have access to local support groups -- which is what I'm looking forward to because I don't know anyone near me who is going through the same thing and it would be nice to meet other Banders. GOOD LUCK!

Looking for a buddy
Congratulations!! How is your weight loss coming? Thanks for the tip, I'll make sure I have my electric blanket handy. I guess I can thank my ex-boyfriend for leaving it when I gave him the boot! lol Do you work? If so, how long were you out of commission? I have ready it can be anywhere from 3 - 10 days. My surgery is on a Friday so I just let my work know that I may be back to the office the following Thursday, sooner if it's tolerable.

Looking for a buddy
That's great, Congratulations!! Right now, I'm just SUPER excited. The terrified part will probably happen at 6am on my surgery day as I get prepped! lol I had knee surgery in 2009 and I know they have something to calm me down, so I will not be afraid to ask for it, you shouldn't either. It'll make ya giggle!!

Looking for a buddy
Hey there! I'm going to be banded on July 22nd and would LOVE to have a buddy through this process. Things like this are always hard for me, hence, resorting to surgery. If you'd like to share the experience, let's get together!!

July Bandsters Unite! LOL
Hey there! I got my surgery date on Monday for Friday, July 22nd! WooHoo! It's been a long road for me because my insurance company required 6 months of a controlled diet and nutritional appointments, along with the psychiatric evaluation. I haven't lost as much as I should have because I don't exercise every day, but I started this journey at 284 and I'm down to 262. I start my 2 week liquid diet on July 8th and have scheduled to go out for my "Last Supper" with friends on the 7th. I'm very open about the fact that I'm having surgery, I don't see anything wrong with it at all. I've posted it all over my Facebook page as well. If people haven't seen it, once I start posting pictures I'm sure they'll ask! Good Luck to everyone!!
