Need Help & Support - Fallen Off The Wagon, & Need To Get Back On
I was sleeved in May of 2010. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. Unfortunately, I haven't lost any weight in 11 months, and I still have 40+ to go, and I have gained back 8 pounds this past month. For some crazy reason, I can't seem to get back on track. Not only that, but I can't remember what the track is! Is there anyone out there that can give me a little boost on where to start? I also need ideas for meals, etc. I am interested in having someone to talk to about this. I feel alone, and i know I shouldn't. Thanks for being here!

Not losing, and needing encouragement
Hi all! I have lost 57 pounds since my surgery on May 29th. I know that is a great number, but I am bummed. I see how others that were at my starting weight or less losing way more than I am. I really need a boost of encouragement. The refrigerator is calling my name, and I am afraid I will start binging like I have done for so much of my life when I am stressed or depressed. Help!

Need advice
I would like to say "ditto" to all of you. I am also in a stall, and I am starting to get worried. I try not to think about it, but it is right in front of you. I am falling back into my old habits due to the lack of success in the past few months. The monkey on my back that craves chocolate (not choc. protein shakes) and tortilla chips. I know I will get through this too. I am hoping that the weather here in North Texas gets cooler soon (106 yesterday) so I can enjoy walking more and family activities. Also, school just started along with fall sports, so my life will become more hectic than ever. At the office, I only keep light cheese, protein shakes, and peanut butter at my disposal. This keeps me honest. Hugs sent your way, and thank you for allowing me to feel the frustration without guilt. I am not alone in this journey, and I thank you for that.

Down 40 pounds, and no one noticed today:)
Thanks everyone for your responses. I am starting to feel better, and I think Jachut is right. To them, I am still fat. This is the point that I would normally give up, but with the sleeve there is no turning back. I have never been more proud of myself and feel like this is it for me. I may have finally kicked my food addiction. I don't think about it all the time like I used to. Thank you everyone for encouraging words and support. I love this site. No judgement, just love. Thanks everyone!

Down 40 pounds, and no one noticed today:)
Okay, I am having a pity party tonight. I am down pounds as of this morning and only 6 weeks out. I was so excited to see some networking friends of mine at a luncheon. I haven't seen them in at least 3 months. Unfortunately, NO ONE NOTICED! Talk about burst my bubble. Why is it that people at the office notice, but no one at the luncheon did. I was even the speaker. I mean I was standing in front of them for 30 minutes.... still nothing... :scared0: I am trying so hard not to cry or get depressed over this, but I can't help it. :sad0:

10 weeks post op
WOW! How do you have the energy to walk 10 to 15 miles a week. I am so exhausted and tired I can barely get in 5. Please tell me it gets better! :willy_nilly:

Tiredness
I am 4 weeks out today, and I am having the same problem. No energy. I don't know how not to go 100%, and I am finding myself useless by mid-day. I went to my primary today for blood work, and she gave me a B-12 shot. Maybe that will help! She mentioned that it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get back to normal.

Meet-up for North Dallas Sleevers???
Hi everyone! I am so wanting to meet all of you from my area. I live in Lavon (outside of Wylie), and I work in Plano. I am looking for those who are interested in a monthly Meet-up or even just a one time face-to-face "Hello". I would love some suggestions on locations as well. I don't mind organizing it, but I need a little help. Nothing special, just a "Howdy meeting". No, I am not an Aggie in case you were wondering... I am looking at a mid July date. Tell me you thoughts!

Pain Under left Boob ?
I am also two weeks out, and I have the same pain. I called the dr. and he said that I probably have done too much activity and pulled an internal stitch which is located in the abdominal wall. He said to take some pain meds, lay in the fetal position as often as possible to take the pressure off the abdominal wall. I talked to his P.A. today, and she said to keep up the walking and meds. It is common after 2 weeks post opt. hope this helps

Burp, burp, burp
Me too! It is either a burp or a very, very loud hiccup! I am only a 1 1/2 weeks out, and it not very encouraging that it will continue....

Almost 6 weeks post op
I was sleeved by Dr. Nick on May 25th. I didn't weigh for a week, but when I did, yeah! I am down 30 pounds since I started the Pre opt diet. It is absolutely amazing. I am finally getting the 60g of protein needed plus I am eating applesauce, mashed potatoes, and cream soups. I can't wait for some crunchy stuff, but it will be awhile. It will be very interesting when I get back to work on Monday. Any tips on getting back to the grind while still on the semi mushy stage? By the way, don't you just love Dr. Nick and his staff? They are awesome!

Day 7: My Protein Struggle
So, I had my VSG a week ago today, and I had to spend an extra day in the hospital b/c I couldn't keep anything down. So, fast-forward to today. I start 60g. of Protein on Thursday, and I don't know how I am going to do it. I am barely getting the 40g that I am required right now. I get really tired and take naps, and in turn I have a hard time drinking the protein I need to. Not to mention, here in Texas it is already 95 degrees, so venturing outside to walk is :cursing:. So, needless to say, I am starting to get worried. I need to get back to work, but I really need to get my diet in order as well. How am I going to get back to work and meet my requirements, if I can't do it at home? :001_unsure: I guess my mind is really going crazy. On top of everything else, I haven't had dinner with my family in 3 weeks. I guess I am looking for a sense of normalcy.

Bowels anyone have issues?
Well, nothing is working for me. I have tried Miralax, benefiber... My surgery was a week ago today, and still no movement. Should I be worried? I have an appt. tomorrow to see Dr. Nick so I will definitely ask for his advice and if I should be worried...

Finally on the Losers Bench!
I am finally home from my surgery on the 25th. I had to stay two days in the hospital due to the swelling. I couldn't keep anything down. That has changed now, but I am struggling to get the full 40g of protein. I am sure it will begin getting easier, but I am still struggling. I am so excited to join you all on the losers bench. Ready to get started!

Yeah, ouch! first day post-op
Are you trying to scare me for my surgery on Tuesday? I hope everything went well. I have been thinking about you for a couple of days. I don't know what you are going through yet, but I know that you are a strong woman, and you can handle anything! Keep me posted on your progress.

comfort zone
I have to give myself a pad on the back today. My surgery is set for May 25, and I am on my pre-opt diet. I was invited to go to a 5K run/walk last night. So this morning, I actually got up at 6 am, dressed, drank my shake, and hopped in my neighbors car. I walked the whole thing (no running at this size) with a time of 54 minutes. I actually did it. I didn't give up, I didn't stop. It was hard, and my neighbor was with me the whole way. The feeling at the finish was so exciting, because I finally did something that was outside of my comfort zone. I have never done a 5K before, even when I was younger and in shape. My husband didn't believe me this morning when I left, and told me he was so proud of me this afternoon. If this is a glimpse of what my life will be after surgery, then Let's Get This Party Started! Yeah Me!

Having second thoughts
I am scheduled for the 25th, and I too am scared to death and nervous as Hell! After I met with the dietitian, it became very "real". However, the alternative is not appealing. I have a neighbor that had it done 3 years ago, and she has NEVER regretted her decision. I see her and I want that feeling. I am a much happier person when I don't feel ashamed or feel the need to hide. I am just trying to stay positive on pre-opt diet to be sure I do everything the Dr. instructed. Each person has their reasons and concerns, and each one is valid. As for how this is different to the lap band, I can't speak from experience. However, I can tell you what made me shy away from the experience. It is now permanent. I did not want something that I would constantly have to go to the doctor for fills and that could be removed one day. I know I need something that would last forever. I am tired of yo-yo dieting, and I can't wait til I get through the recovery period. I wish you all the best in your search for the answer and we are all here to support you with whatever decision you have made.

Carbonated Drink question
It's the ice! I swear! So now I go to Sonic (everyday, yes they know me by name) but instead of my DP, I get ice Water w/Lime or unsweet tea w/Lime. Right now it's all water. Dr. says no caffeine until after the surgery, so my headache is now gone, and I am actually feeling pretty good. Funny thing though, at the dietician on Tuesday I had already lost 5 pounds in just two weeks. I swear I have been eat a ton of "last meals", but I think it is a great sign of the future!
