  1. Amen!! I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles, 1 cup of skim milk and 8 ounces lite low carb yogurt. Of course low carb Protein drinks -at least 60 grams of protein/per day. Mm Mm good?!!!? Best wishes and good luck to all. Deb

  9. Congrats on your surgery date. I haven't told my mom yet, not that I think she will not be supportive. I just don't want her to worry about me. I probably will tell her in a day or two before my surgery. My children, one sister, and one nephew knows. Which really means everyone in my family knows. LOL.   11. No, this not a joke. When my dietitian went over the nutritional guidelines it said in big bold letters DO NOT CHEW GUM or use candy-type hard mints. When chewing gum or sucking on mints, patients tend to swallow a lot of air. If the gum is ACCIDENTALLY swallowed, the pouch will have difficulty processing it. So be carefull if you are going to chew gum.

  14. First off congrats on your surgery date. I know what you mean. From the time of my first seminar to my surgery date it has been about 4 months. This included scheduling and going to appointments. Basically rearranging my life. It was kinda fun to me. Now just waiting until my pre -op diet which starts on Aug. 3rd. I also have my EKG, chest X-ray, and lab work done on that day. My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 17th. I just want it to be over already. Actually can we fast forward 2 months. LOL.   15. Hello all, My surgery date is scheduled for Aug. 17th with Dr. Hoehn of The Bariatric Center of Kansas City. Whoo Hoo!! I've told any and everybody who wanted to know including a "friend" who asked me " why are you doing this". I responded because I NEED TO DO THIS FOR ME. I WOULD TO LIVE THE REST OF MY LIFE PAIN AND MEDICATION FREE. Duh. Best wishes and good luck to ALL.:001_tt2: Deb

    Great to hear your surgery went so well that the doc wished he had video taped it. I hope you are feeling better today. They say each day gets better and better.   20. Hi Lisa, I too have Federal BCBS and was just approved on July 21. All in all the process took about 4 months for me because my surgeon is in very high demand. What's the name of your surgeon?   24. Congrats. Sounds like everything with the surgery went well. Some people on the boards here say Gas X strips help with the gas pains. Hopefully you can get some or something similar. Please keep us posted with your progress. Deb
