Who's sleeving in July?
Hiya Julie... Wow... 54lb is amazing... So near to goal too!! I am 47lb down now and things have been really slow lately... I am doing the 5 day pouch test to see if I can kick start my weight loss again... I have put it on another thread!

What do you think?
OK Ladies, i agree with the above... it is weird but I would be lost without this forum and you lot!! Diva... yea, c'mon down... join us! Right; day one... not too bad during the day... getting a litte hungry now (19.48 here)! But that is ok... 'cos I will finish my Soup in a min and I have some Protein shakes left... oh, not forgetting the water! Did have a headache earlier, not sure if that was cos of hardly any carbs or whether it was stress from work...lol I hope this will kick start my new year for me! How you doing Chilo?

Hello, everyone!
Good luck with your decision... It is up to you who you rell and why! I looked into WLS for many years and I am really happy that I found the sleeve cos it is certainly the best one for me! When I told my parents they were, at least, not happy! My mother especially... oh what do you want to do that to yourself...etc! This comes from a woman who eats less than me now I am sleeved and is tiny!! However, as my date drew nearer they changed... once they heard what the research said and the proper information, not just scare stories! Now, well, I wouldn't be without them... they are a good form of support and encouragement and they are proud of my weight loss to date!

Shopping in my closet
Before I got sleeved I had a bit of a episode and chucked away a load of smaller clothes, I didn't know the sleeve was gonna happen as we were looking into it and worried whether we could afford it or not! Today, I have tried on the last of my saved items, ie those in size 18 (UK) and now they fit ... I have nothing to try on! How stupid was I? Hindsight is 20-20 vision. I am tempted to get some small clothes in the sale ... but by the time they fit it will be a different season!!! Oh well! =]

What do you think?
ok.,. 5 day pouch test for Chilo and I starts tomorrow! Protein powder - check Soup - check in the zone - check! wish us luck xx

Still a Fight!!
I agree with rootman... at your stage, I focused on getting enough liquid and didn't worry about the protein side of things...When you are on pureed food you can start to get more protein in. Chilo recommended putting protein powder in decaf coffee; I've used the plain and vanilla flavour and it tastes like a lattee... nice! Concentrate on healing and liquids; get plenty of rest that your body needs. You'll be fine! =]

REGRET
Great question bd73, I think regret is too strong for me... Just after surgery, I dod wonder why the hell I just spent 8k on getting rid of half my guts? I am just 6mths out now and there have been moments of 'Oh God is this working... have I done the right thing?' etc... but they are fleeting...to be absolutely frank, without the sleeve I wouldn't have lost 4lb nevermind 47lb! For me the options had all been done and this is literally my last chance to get healthy, fitter and SLIM!!

Post op info needed
I found that I could drip a lot of fluids in one go early out... still can on an empty tummy... I wasn't worried because even at that stage I could still feel when I was full. If you can tolerate it and it doesn't cause you any problems, go with the flow as such!! Sorry bad pun... but seriously, it is important to be well hydrated, even more so in the first month to 6 weeks! keep up the good work! =]

Mother in law
hopeandfaith, The sleeve is your decision and it gives you control over your eating, your health and your fitness... bugger what everyone else says! That is a tough one... your mother in law doesn't sound that pleasant... but on the plus side you daughter sounds amazing!!

What do you think?
Oh that is more in my price range... where do you get yours from? I'll look out for those for sure... especially if they are nice. Is it just Complan and Nestle or do they have a specific name... sorry to be a pain xx

What do you think?
Ain't it Sunday today...lol!! I've got maximuscle ready made before now... the strawberry one is nice, the choc one is ok... certainly drinkable for the first two days. I've been looking at the flavoured ones but they see soooo expensive... might just have to buy it and be done with it!?? x

What do you think?
Tuesday it is then....it is a date!! Will the supermarkets be open tomorrow? Being a bank holiday an all that?? I've started putting unflavoured Protein powder in my coffee... trying to up my protein too... I think you advised about that?! I blend it for a min or too and it is yummy... bit like a latte!

What do you think?
Chilo, I've had a look at the pouch test and I think it is doable... shall we go together.,. I really need some motivation and something to get the scales moving ... that at least will keep me going, 'cos right now I am really disheartened! =[ Let me know and give me a day notice if you fancy it, I ain't got any premade Protein shakes in at the moment... and they'll be good for brekkie...

What do you think?
Hey Stacy... good for you,.. love the way your body has given you an extra christmas pressie...lol! I know what you mean by feeling like you need a clean out ... I am feeling sluggish... I took a couple of days 'off' and had some treats... not too many but enough to enjoy! I have done a little exercise and that has helped. My biggest problem is that my body clock is out of synch now... staying up way too late... so I am looking forward to going back to work just for the routine!!

Turning Over a New Leaf
Hey Kris, good luck for your surgery! I love they way you have set little goals or experiences that aren't weight related... these will defo spur you on through your weight loss journey! Good for you. You must keep us posted on how you're doing...=]

What do you think?
Thanks for the input... Chilo, I will have a look at the pouch test and let you know... I need to be organised as I am back to work Tues ... Not ready for that, at all!! One thing that is bugging me at the moment is that although I have done well to lose 47lb, I am still obese and I still feel 'big'! When friends comment on my weight loss I generally thank them and they always seem to ask 'oh, how much more do you want to lose?'... When I tell them that I ain't even half way and there is at least another 50lb... they seem surprised! I have even been told I should stop now!! That is absolutley not an option! Why can't people, accept that I need to lose more weight and that I need to have a healthy and fit body? Grrrrrrr!!! I don't think any of the comments are said in a nasty way but it is irritating that they don't understand!... OK rant over... gonna have a look at the pouch test now! =]

What do you think?
hello fellow sleevers, As we are entering a new year and a new decade, I thought it might be a good idea to start it with a fresh sheet as such and a positive attitude. I really want to kick start my weight loss again as I have been losing really slowly and I am feeling a little frustrated and despondent. I am diong all the right things; eating three times a day, concentrating on Protein and liquids, working out, but my negative attitude and my harsh thought process are not doing me any favours! I definately need to be kinder to myself! So, with that in mind, I am thinking about going back to the liquid phase or at least partically liquid phase. I am thinking along the lines of two Protein shakes and one meal a day. The question therefore is... is this a good idea? Or will it slow things back down when I start eating three meals a day again? I don't want to mess up my metabolic rate any more than it is already!! I would appreciate any thoughts, ideas or advise on this because I really want to start the year off on the right foot and get that scale moving again! Thanks in advance

Weight Loss Frustration
Supersweettums, First;y, congratulations on your weight lose to date. That weight has gone and is gone forever. You are still in the early days and your body is still wondering what has happened to it as it enters the final stage of healing. I know it is frustrating, 'cos I was in the same boat... I stall for 3 weeks at 2 1/2 weeks post op, I was also self pay and I agree... it was an awful time and one of doubt. I have now accepted that I am a slow loser and it does continue to get me down ... I weigh every day and in one way it is wrong 'cos those numbers dictate my mood... I am trying not to but... I am about 6mths out now and my average weight loss per week is 1.9lb! Not fantastic but ok. I just have to keep plodding along and wait for my body to let go of the flab! Just be kind to yourself, follow your post op diet guidelines and it will come off! =]
