  1. Hey I wanted to let you know that I just had Gastric bypass RNY on 1/27 and I’m on Pre-soft foods diet until my two week postoperative appt then they will advance me to soft foods and I will be on that for another ten days then move on to regular diet. It really depends on what you feel comfortable with and what will make you feel satisfied and not sick. I have broke out with allergic reaction and I’m itching to death I really not even eating much hoping to get relief tomorrow with doctor visit. Good Luck?
  2. This was a very good explanation for me because i had my first fill last friday and I still have little restriction so I am happy to hear that it will take a few more fills and I have a 10 cc band so i am thinking that at 7 cc's i should be at that sweet spot because right now i have 4 cc's in. Thanks everyone!!
  3. So do you feel any restriction or any difference in what you can eat now that you have had the fill on Monday?
  4. <BR><BR><BR>As long as you get it to liquid form(put in the blender) you should be fine. Enjoy dinner!!!<IMG class=bbc_emoticon alt= src="http://cdn.lapbandtalk.com/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif">
  5. I cant wait to join you in getting under 200lbs and hopefully with my first fill friday and my new personal trainer I will be there within a month from today I have 40lbs to go!!! Pray for me!!!
  6. Yes I recommend going to urgent care and tell them that you are itching and think it is the allergic reaction because they will give you a shot and some meds after that instantly i was cured!! LOL!!! Havent had a itch since...Hope all works out because that itchy feeling is not a good feeling at all! Good Luck!
  7. I get my first fill friday and i am nervous any one with tips on what to do after the fill and what not to do please comment. Also anybody that can give me an idea of what to expect friday that would be great too. I was banded on March 2nd and have lost 20lbs so far but no restriction and can eat any amount but i have been dieting since i been on regular foods the past week or so. Can anyone tell me did you even have any restriction or more weight loss after your first fill or should I not expect to have no more weight lost until my next fill or so forth? I am so nervous about being stuck at this same weight and i do walk but Monday i am starting a new gym and personal trainer so we shall see..Please give advise and comments on your first fill experiences Thanks!!!
  8. I was banded on March 2nd and I am about to have my first fill on this friday April 8th! I have barely any restriction at this time but i have still managed to lose about 20lbs before even getting a fill so I am happy about that!! Happy Monday March Bandsters!!!
  9. Hey Ronnie, I definately can relate to feeling no restriction with my band currently and I get my first fill on Friday so i am anxious. Please keep us updated on how yours went on Thursday since it is the day before mine and I am a little nervous about the whole procedure of getting a fill. This week is my first week eating regular foods so i took a while to eat anything and have lost 20lbs without the restriction and I am praying for restriction as well to help shed more pounds. Well Good Luck and hopefully after this week we both will be happy with the restriction from the first fill! Happy Monday!
  10. I LOVE THIS POST!!! IT DESCRIBED MY LIFE FOR THE PAST MONTH...THANK YOU I AM NOT ALONE...I APPRECIATE YOU TAKING THE TIME TO POST THIS! I ALSO APPRECIATE KNOWING THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS GOING THROUGH THE SAME FEELINGS.
  11. I feel the same way sometimes and I am almost one month out and i have my first fill on 4/8 so I am ready to get it to see if I have any more restriction right now I am hungry alot. I have lost 18lbs since surgery 3/2. I feel that is good but i lost alot of that during the liquid stage now that i am approaching my regular foods i am kind of scared. I am also thinking to myself i could have done this on my own because i have been walking since last week and i am going to start going to the gym next week so i hope i can lose more soon. Stay focus and it will work out hopefully for all us bandster hell ppl. LOL!!!
  12. It is depending on what your doctor says...I was still on full liquids at two weeks out so i am not sure if your doctor would say go ahead and eat cake.
  13. Banded 3/2 I had the exact same pain, took tylenol, just massaged it and laid on opposite side..It stopped hurting after about a week. So it will get better but that damn Pain! Ouch!
  14. Well finally went back to the doctor and the nurse practioner decided to send me to the urgent care to get a prednisone shot to stop the allergic reaction. I went to urgent care and they gave me the shot(in the butox)LOL!! And gave me prednisone by mouth for another 10 days, hydroxyzine for the itching which i have not experienced since the shot and she threw in some topical cream to put on the spots that were red around my incisions and they are no longer that color and this all happened on Friday March 18th. Thanks god for good physicians and meds. No longer Itchy!!!
  15. Yes we do live close and i am glad to have someone going through the same fight. My doctor is Dr. Enochs located in Cary and i had my surgery at Rex Cary. You can email me anytime so we can compare and help on the journey. kswin79@yahoo.com
  16. Just took benadryl so hopefully with this morning appointment with my doctor at 8am will help solve this problem. Glad you posted your experience. It really helps feeling like i am not the only one. Thanks!
  17. Just took some benadryl and i am about to lay down and i have appointment with my doctor at 8am so hopefully we will have some answers or new meds. But still itching!!! UGH!!
  18. I was banded on March 2nd and I am going through the same thing! Another similarity we are both in North Carolina. I currently live in Morrisville near cary, and I am having a allergic reaction to something dealing with the band or the port i can not figure it out. I have lost 12lbs also so far since surgery and i am at a stand still. But i am sorta of scared about this reaction because i am itching everywhere and i dont want to take the band out i feel i am just getting started. Everyone i have talked to and read online that 12lbs so far is good so stick in there! Hopefully after our first fill things will get better. I am hoping i can get my first fill on April 8th since i am having these issues with breaking out. Wish me luck.
  19. Oh ok, well I dont think so because I had my gallbladder out one month before getting banded. I throught it was the strips they put on the incisions but it should not be back if that was the case and also they use the same strips on my incisions when i had my gallbladder out and that did not make me break out so I am so confused on what is making me break out like this. My doctor was even puzzled so now what to do? I think if they can not find out what is making me itch and rashes i will have to have this out immediately i can not take the itching it is extremely uncomfortable. Help anyone with advise on this?
  20. I have never had any allergies to any medicines or anything this is all new.
  21. Has anyone had an allergic reaction to the band or port? I feel that I may be due to itching everywhere, my incisions are red and my doctor prescribed me some prednisolone which worked for the few days that i was on it and now the symptons are back. I am itching everywhere on my neck, stomach, back and legs. Please someone let me know what to do because when i speak to my doctor he said it is a very small chance that i am allergic to the band but can't i be allergic to the port if not the band? I need answers and help! Anyone?
  22. Hey Andrea, I was banded on March 2nd and I am itching like crazy and i went to see my doctor and he advised me the same thing you was told that it is very low chance of being allergic to the band but I think i am allergic to the port as well. I am red and itching on my stomach, neck , legs, and on my back. I am red around the incision of my port. I have been prescribed Prednisolone (steroid kit) to help with the itching but now that it is gone i am back itching bad. I just need advise of what to do at this point? Should I have the band taken out or did they give you any medicine to help?
  23. When did you get banded? I am just starting but what stage of the diet plan are you in? I am struggling with Clear Liquids ready to move to full liquids so i guess i am confused on why you would be eating so much or in what stage?
  24. I had surgery on March 2nd, while my doctor did the band he also removed my hiatal hernia. Also a month before I had my gallbladder out so I feel all these things out are better towards my progress. I have been doing good for the main part except the first couple of days after the band surgery. I had alot of Gas and I have been on Clear liquids since the 1st of March which was the day before surgery. I have been trying to move around more day by day and doctor's office advised to take Gas X so i am trying that which is helping. I am just wondering about my clear liquids to full liquid transition because Wed 9th will be a full week after my banding, should I move on then to full liquid? Or since I have been doing ok with the Soups, broths and other clear liquids is it ok to start making my Protein shakes out of the Bariatric fusion Meal Replacements I purchased? I also wanted to get some clarification on if I do start to drink the Protein Shakes would that take the gas to another level? I dont think i am getting enough protein so thats why i was thinking to go ahead and start on the shakes and Vitamins? But the gas pain is crucial and it keeps me up at night. I see there are alot of ppl on this site that have been though this and can help so please feel free with giving me pointers. I have already lost lbs due to the clear liquids so I am already off to a good start! Thanks in advance for any suggestions, and tips!
