  1. Hi all, I'm just 2 days out from surgery and feel like death! I've vomited 3 times today. Maybe nerves, maybe just having liquids on my stomach. Dropped into my PCP's office and he didn't think it was a virus. Phoned my Surgeon's office and they seemed to think it's just nerves too. Tomorrow starts clear liquids only and I'm already feeling fatigued. Any suggestions?
  2. I found out at 3 pm on Tuesday that I'd start my pre-op diet on Wednesday. Boy when I opened that email and saw what they required I was pretty blown away. My doc's been great about it tough, when I went in for my pre-op he told me that with my job if I needed another shake or small meal to go ahead, just follow the clear liquids only and make sure to have only protien shakes days 8-13.
  3. My doc's pre-op diet starts with 2 protein shakes per day <200 cal, >15g protein; and one meal <300 cal, <15g carbs, >15g protein Days 1-7. Days 8-13 are 4 protein shakes per day <200 cal, >15g protein. Day 14 Clear liquids only. Also allowed Sugar Free Jello, Sugar Free popsicles, and broth.
  4. Mike and jennifer1, I checked with my Nutritionist about sugar free gum. She said it was fine, as long as it wasn't swallowed.
  5. Hi all, I started the pre-op diet on 5/12/11. My surgery is scheduled for 5/25/11!
