Boyfriends can come and go. I would imagine that if you didn't get your surgery and something happened and you broke up with him you would possibly regret not getting the surgery because he didn't want you to. It would be a huge setback.

I would really recommend having an extra blanket for yourself in that case
I am really looking forward to being able to do hard exercise. It might sound weird coming from a three hundred pound chick but I really like exercise and body building. I was a swimmer when I was a kid and they told me I had potential but that all went out the window. I want to be a bad ass again.

My surgeon instructs everyone to start their day with a hot liquid every day to losen the band and wash through mucus. She said that for the people who don't like hot liquids in the morning she recomends that they drink a bit of the warm Water when they take a shower. Kinda different but what ever works...

No one should scold you about this. I take the generic brand and I am five weeks banded. I have no problems and my surgeon knows I take it and never said anything about it. I don't know if you are expecting people to criticize you for taking the med or if you are worried that they will tell you to suck it up, but I know I have been having very severe panic attacks since I was very little and it is not just something you can suck up. My dr tells me to take the meds right when I get a twinge of that kind of anxiety. Don't wait till it is a full blown panic attack. You can send me a message any time.

I like to crush the pill and put it in a shot of drinkable yogurt and take it like a shot that I pour toward the back of my throat then chase it with the yogurt. Much faster and I don't have to taste it for more than a few seconds. Also it helps to take a deep breath and hold it when you take the shot so you taste less.

I think that if people can post threads about sex, drugs, and other "controversial" subjects in this area with what I perceive as minimal upset among other bandsters I don't see why there would be any problem with upbeat, and encouraging posts even if they are religious. It's funny that there is a lot of support until someone gets religious...then these "supportive" people turn on them. I'm sorry to sound mad but it made me a bit sad. We should be supportive and accepting and like everyone said, if you can't handle it don't read it.

Slightly off topic but this thread reminded me of a story my mom loves to tell. For some people the anastetic has the effect of making people emotional right after they wake up. My uncle David had his wisdome teeth out and on the drive back from the hospital he had two big cotton balls in his cheeks and he was sobbing like a big baby. He sucked one of the cotton balls into his throat and started choking. My grandma, who was driving, didn't know what to do so she reached back and punched him in the chest really hard. He spit out the cotton ball and was kinda shocked for a second then started crying even harder. I always loved that story.

Congrats on the tat...watch out they are addictive. I started with a smaller one and they just keep getting bigger every time I go for a new one. This is my most recent.

So I thought it might be fun (and very, very helpful for myself and others) to try to generate some menu ideas. I do not do well without a plan and it takes me FOREVER! to write up menus for myself. I know we cannot all eat the same things sometimes but who better to know what a good lapband day should look like than my fellow lapbanders. So if you could tell me what you would eat for a whole day while following the lapband rules and even how you prepare the food (if you like) I would be so very appreciative
