  1. There is no harm in holding off. I am not sure that will change anything. It may be benfical to talked to a therapist about what mental blocks are occuring. I do not think we are meant to be miserable, but happiness is not a number on a scale. Surgery only helps with the stomach. We have to do our own work on our head. If I recall correctly, you struggle also about having to possibly stopping nursing. Maybe waiting until that is over to proceed.
  2. Surgery is set for Monday. I had something set up for everyday and now it just stopped. In Northern CO we are having flooding. Where we live is fine, however schools closed because roads are starting to get bad for buses in the city, football practices and games are canceled and it looks possible schools will be closed tomorrow. So things will be slow around here until Monday. I was marking my time by doing various things, book club, bible study, 2 football games etc. Not anymore. Suzy
  3. I am the 16th also. Time seems to be passing slowly. I have to be at the hospital at 530am Mountain time.
  4. I decided to tell my kids a bit about the surgery. My husband didn't think I should. I explained to him, that I will be in the hospital for 2 nights. That is a little long for a grocery shopping trip. Talked to my boys 10 and 12 and explained what the dr would do, what my recovery would be like etc. No major reactions to it. I spoke to my 8 and 5 year old girls tonight. I kept it more simple that I was going to the hospital to have a surgery to help me get healthy so I could do more with them. I explained how I eat will forever be different. My 5 year old pipes up so will you still use silverware. Love that girl.
  5. Yes, the rest will go to waste. I sent an email to a nutritionist about what is a time frame. Is it every 4hr your body can use 30gr, or a shorter time period.
  6. Soups, filled your scripts, sugar free jello, pudding, walking shoes
  7. Yes I have my first post op appointment set for the 27th. My surgery is set for Monday.
  8. I had my preop appointment. It went smoothly, as I left I had to schedule my follow up and went to the desk, she asked what surgery I was having, told her and she said ok let me see what we have available on Oct 16th.. Ok but what about my 10 day appointment. Oh you do not need one. hmm are you sure. Yes. I said then why does all my paperwork say to schedule the appointment for 7-10 days out. Oh that is wrong. Can you please double check? She did and I was right.
  9. I find tracking helps me preop to make sure I get the right amount of protein. In the past when I diet, as soon as I stop tracking, that is the beginning of the inevitable regain.
  10. Waiting sucks that is for sure. Hopefully everything is perfectly complete and there are no hicups on the road to delay approval.
  11. I am sorry you can't freely change your wonderful news. Congrats. I think most Dr understand with HIPPA laws about discretion. Good Luck
  12. I have preop appointment today. I am excited and nervous. My husband gets home from his travel on Sat and I go in bright and early on Monday. I am hoping, like everyone I have an easy recovery. I have 4 days my calender is clear, then a few things each day I hope to be able to do such as see my son's first night game for football. Nothing major but important.
  13. I am sorry that your family and friends are not being supportive. I hope they are able to realize you are doing this so you are around for a long time and come to support you in your new eating habits and healthy life.
  14. No idea as my insurance did not require a supervised diet. My doc asked we lose 10-15lbs over 2 months. I have been able to do that. I think you need to look closely at what is making it hard for you to get focused. I know from others here, you need to be purposeful and planful with the post op diet. Those who struggle the most, usually say loss of focus is the problem. They have neglected logging and tracking food. That may be the hardest place to start. I know I had logging that I had 3 oreos but I make myself. It keeps me honest
  15. Usual questions. How is the protein intake. Water exercise? Try changing it up a bit, more water. More protein.
  16. Congrats on your progress
  17. The usual questions. How is your protein, water intake? Can you work half days for awhile? Hope you start to feel better soon.
  18. Congrats you look great
  19. I love them. They go down a bit to easy. I could probably eat a bunch if I let myself.
  20. Glad your doc was proactive. Hope the weekend is a healing and restful.
