There are some meals that just taste better on the home grill. I am sorry to hear that it didn't work to be all that you hoped for. Good luck on your clear liquids.

setting my goal to high?
I am of a similar plan. I am 5ft 5 and goal right now is 180. I have never been thin, so being a 12/14 would be amazing. I figure my goal can change as I get closer. My dr office set my initial goal to 210 based on 60% excess body weight loss. I do know I do not believe in the bmi as a goal setting tool.

Pre approval proccess BCBS fed
I agree bc/bs is awesome. I will be 2 months from 1st appointment to my surgery date. Once they had my file, it was 8 days for approval. They say to allow 2 wks. Seems like most ave approval in a much shorter time.

BCBS Personal Choice PPO out of pocket expense
Your insurance card should say copays. I have a blue cross insurance. Mine says 250 per day inpatient. Specialists are40$, which would be surgeons. Psych falls under mental health, and that was 30.

wahoo
In Colorado and I think California, there is a chain called Wahoo's. They are known for fish tacos. I stopped in for lunch and they now have a paleo plate. It was 4oz of 2 different meats, chicken, fish, beef. your choice, 2tbls of guacamole and some sort of cabbage slaw. Low carb, high protein. 43gr of protein.

approved
Just got off the phone, I have been approved for surgery. They give a 3 day window for it. I was surprised the window was so small, hopefully there are no delays.

Patience is not my think
My insurance has had my file for a week. Still no pre authorization yet. I was told it could be up to 2 weeks. I know in the scope of things that is not long at all, but I want to know now.

im so disappointed..
Oh no.. that would be so disappointing. I would have thought he would have seen that issue before it was submitted to the insurance. Hopefully the approval will be quicker this time around.

no regets but damn
I have been planning all kinds of things to keep me busy so I do not have to see alot of food for post op. Of course I will still have to feed my kids so that is going to be hard but easier than deal with a lifetime of health issues.

Stalls: Just because I get it doesn't mean I have to like it
Stalls suck as much as you understand the reason behind them, we still hate them.

He doesn't encourage nor discourage. He knows I need to get healthier, but feels wls is a drastic measure which I agree with but I need a drastic measure. He does refuse to eat fish but I always make sure there is a leftover for him when I serve it. In the past when I have tried to diet, he can be discouraging grumbling at meals about rabbit food and not enough. That hasn't happened this time yet. We still do things together. Go for walks, watch a movie together. We havent gone out to eat much as usual as a family. . We rarely get date nights. That has has not changed. With 4 kids and football starting, that is how it is. I guess this method of dieting is typical for him. I pointed out to him that all diets have stalls and there will be ups and downs he doesnt want to hear this. I know he can get very jealous when I loose weight and he doesn't. I do not even talk to him about what I may have loss on any given week. I have learned that the hard way.

I am less than a month from my surgery date. Still waiting for approval, but I know the insurance company has it in process. I will know within the next 2 weeks. I have been low carb high protein for the last 4 weeks or so and doing pretty well. Down about 10lbs. I have hit a stall which I knew I would and annoyed by it but know it is part of the process. My husband is driving me nuts though. He is reluctantly accepting I am having surgery though he would prefer I not. He needs to lose weight too, and has started doing his own methods. His methods are not eating much of anything. He eats a small amount for breakfast and then claims he skips lunch and rarely eats dinner. He is ultra grouchy and continually whining about it. I have tried to explain that starving himself is not healthy and not condusive to long term weight loss. It is getting hard to deal with his grouchiness and he will not even entertain the idea he could be wrong about his methods. He comments about how food is the enemy now for us all. I have shown him sample meal plans that I will be eating and what he and the kids can eat, I try to explain the first 6-8 weeks will be the meals with the most major differences, but after that I will be eating smaller portions of the right foods. I do not think he will accept that until he sees that happen. God forbid I have any major complications.
