  1. Hello again, I went yesterday for my last exercise class with Janet Huehls. I ws the oly one there. I like that one on one. Anyway she gave me a print out and the next meeting it May 24th. This will be my last meeting until Sept. when I go back to driving. I'll be up near Hampton Beach and thats to much of a drive for an hour meeting. So let me know if you plan on attending. Bonnie
  2. Smyly and superali72, Hope the two of you are doing well. Just had my 3rd fill this week. I had a NP do it. She did a wonderful job. Was over in no time. She put in .3cc, said that they will put in .2cc or .3 from now on. I am feeling more restriction and have to make sure I chew everything really good. But I'm more hopeful that this one will do the trick and make the weight lose start happening again. Let me know how you are doing.. Bonnie
  3. Hello Everyone, I've just been reading posts, :typing: seems like we are all going through about the same thing. We are so excided to have this band done, then we have some weight lose, then come to a stand still. For some of us this can be a couple of months :think , thats me. I went for my 3rd fill yesterday. The NP did a wonderful job with that needle. I have 1.8cc now, she said they usually put in .2 or .3cc from now on. So to all of us in this postion, I hope we finally hit that "sweet spot" Bonnie
  4. I have to take 1 Flintstones chewable and 2 Tums. Maybe taking a vitamin is good for me, I haven't been sick since surgery. Feb 12th, and I usually catch everything going around. I drive school bus. I'll be having my 3rd fill May 8th, I'm at 1.5cc now with little restriction. Hope the next one does the trick
  5. I think the next meeting is the 3rd Thursday in May, the 17th. Keep in touch and maybe we can meet up at that meeting. I drive school bus so once school ends I go to New Hampshire to work at a campground and only come home for dr. appointments.. The last meeting I attended, I only saw one women that had lapband surgery. Most of the talking was all about gastric bypass. When I had my surgery I had to stay over due to sleep apena. They were all very nice. I'm due to get another fill (3rd) May 8th. I have lost 18lbs. Wish it was more but. . .it is down. I had more restriction after surgery. But once the swelling goes down you have to be careful not to gain it back. They are good about moving your appointments up if you are not feeling any restriction. I had mine moved up twice now. Hoping this next one will do the trick. I have 1.5cc's right now. Chat soon Bonnie
  6. Exercise--Not till I was 6 weeks out of surgery, but walking was okay and lifting nothing heavier than a gallon milk jug.
  7. Margi, I go to the weight center at UMASS, in Worcester MA. They recommanded sugar-free Carnation Instant BreakfastYou mix it with milk. Because it has more vit. than alot of the other mixes do. It's pretty good for a protein shake. There are 3 flavors, but look for the blue box (sugarfree).
  8. Superali72, I was banded Feb 12th. I started this whole process in April 06. Here's my e-mail, kedasmom@yahoo.com If you would like to keep in touch. Maybe we'll see each other at one of the group meetings. I don't find many lapbanders at the meetings. So I haven't gone lately. Chat soon Bonnie
  9. superali72, I had Dr. Czerniah for my last fill (2nd one). He was doing fills and they wanted to move my date up, so they put me with him. Dr. Kelly did my surgery, Feb 12th. All has gone well. When did you have your surgery? Hope to chat again soon Bonnie
  10. Marrakesh, First off you need to talk to your doctors, and tell them everything you wrote here. Then they will help you deside what steps to take next. Having the band removed is a big step backwards, since we all had this done because we couldn't get the weight off by ourselves we have to expect to be back in the same boat as before surgery. Right now I have no restriction, I've had 1 fill (1cc) I can eat whatever, as long as I, chew an chew. But I'm up and down on the scale and at this rate I'll never lose. So if anything I would talk to them about about unfilling your band and see how that goes. Talk to your Doctors.
  11. I'm in too. I need this push terribly. My friend says I would sleep my life away if I could. She's right. Went to my first exercise class this morning.(this is part of the program for weight-loss surgery at U-Mass) We "talked" about doing it. Next week we "do it". Now I have a chart, but I guess I have to do more than look at it. After 7hrs. of driving I needed a nap, so I'll go out on my treadmill now. I'm having no problem getting it the water. Good Luck to all.
  12. Hello everyone, I haven't been on for sometime now. I was feeling like a lot of you. Banded 2/12 and have only lost 18lbs. No pre-surgery-diet. But I went to see the nutritionist Thur. and she said, I maybe a little on the low side for my protein intake and a little on the high side for my water intake (now that was a surprise). But that my weight lose was right where it should be. She had warned me back at 2 weeks out from surgery, that a lot of people have weight gains 2 or 3 weeks before their first fill. So to really watch what I eat. I was also worried that I wasn't taking in enough calories. 650 - 750. I guess I hadn't payed enough attention to the numbers. For some reason I thought I was suppose to take in 1,000 - 1,200. (I'm thinking that I'll have to eat a bowl of ice-cream to make up the calories:clap2: ) She said that was where I should be. So when I look at the scale I have to remember that I had lap-band not gastric surgery. The same day I had my first fill, that went well. I'm hoping that I will have enough restriction to see me down another 10 to 15lbs in the next 6 weeks. Take care

Not wasting years of dieting, yo-yoing. My whole adult life has been overweight. And when I'd finally lose weight I would gain it back and 10lbs. to go with it. Depression for 30 something years does thing to your mind. Now that I'm banded I will push this thing to the max! I can't gain those years back but I will not be planning my death anymore. Things can only get better now, I won't let it be anyother way. Congrats to you all. 14. mlbmtn - - I know how you feel, I was banded on 2-12 and lost 15lbs. now I'm just trying to stay put till a fill (3-29). My nutritionist said this is a time when people gain what they have lost. So to watch what I eat:hungry: because once the swelling goes down from surgery you won't have the restriction that you had right after surgery. Hang in there.
  15. Now that all of us Feb. folks are done, maybe we should start a chart of our weight loses? I have no idea how to do this. I'm sure one of you are computer smart and knows how to do this. Bonnie hey I did it!:clap2: I only got this ticker thing to work once. But I think I got how to do this. I'm taking classes at a trade school, started this week. Microsoft Work.
  16. Been away for a long weekend, scrapbooking. It was alittle hard with everyone eating all the time but I made it. Best night sleep I've had in years. Sleep number bed. Came home and ordered one. Saw the doctor yesterday and everything is coming along good. I go back for a fill in 1 month. I'm alittle scared of that because of my needle fear. But I'll make it through that to, because I want this to work more than life. Hope all of you are doing well. thanks
  17. Last night was my first night since banding, 2-12 that I could sleep on either side, it was WONDERFUL. I am drinking all the time. Feel good, but I would like something with a little more substance to it. Hopefully, Monday, one of my two appointments will give the go ahead to mushies. Take care to those who have done the deed and good luck to the rest of Feb. will bees.
  18. It's been a week since banding (Feb 12th). My port area is the only thing tender. I take a nap every afternoon, but I was doing that before surgery. Went back to work (driving bus) Thursday afternoon. Now I have a week off for school vacation. I'm going on a scrapbook weekend starting the 22nd. I'm still on Liqiud shakes, clear stuff and I have tried a couple of cream Soups. Everyone brings stuff to eat,and meals are take-outs and dining out. Then there is ME, I'm not sure what to take. But I know that I have to plan for this. Any ideas? Banded 2-12 Dr. Kelly U-MASS Worcester Memorial MA
  19. garreau gal congratulations on your weight lose. Hope I do as well.
  20. This is such a thriving thread, and everyone is doing so good. Today was my second day back to work. Everyone was so surprised that I'm doing so great. I am so happy that I stuck it out (first appointments were in April 06) and didn't give up when it seemed such a long wait. :clap2: banded Feb 12th
  21. Thanks Everyone, I have appointments on the 26th, with the doctors office and then with the Nutrition Clinic. So at least 2 weeks on liquids. How soon do you get your first fill? DH lost both parents in the last 6 months, so he's alittle extra emtional right now. So I try not to complain to much, and stay very "UP". So I guess this is the place where I'll have to vent any feelings I'm having. Thanks again
  22. Hello Everyone, I did the "deed" on Monday. All went well, I spent the night because of sleep apnea, my oxygen level dropped so they hooked into my CPAP machine and I was good to go. My DH still worries about the surgery. He gets emtional on me. I try to reassure him that I'll be fine. And then someone on TV has a problem with their WLS and he gets upset all over again. I think I'm doing fine, plan on going back to drive bus on Friday. I have had a little gas pain, but it goes right away. I'm drinking my liquids with no problem. I just sleep alot:notagree So far, so good. Good Luck to all.
  23. Hello everyone, Just got up, slept good, needed pain meds. The pain is in the port area, nothing I can't live with. (was banded on the 12th) I was reading on here last night but didn't post, couldn't stay awake long enough to type anything that made since. I had to stay overnight in the hospital because of sleep apnea. Dang it! I'm having a hard time staying awake now. take care
  24. okay, I will be at Worcester Memorial on Monday Feb. 12th at 9:30a.m. with a clear conscience. And a new way of looking at WLS. I never had any doubts about doing this, just lucky my insurance would pay. Also wishing that every overweight person could do this instead of wasting 35 years dieting, the up and down. I have lost myself no less than 4 times. It is soooo depressing. This will be a new beginning, and I'm up for it!!! Thanks Everyone.
  25. Tacy Stay positive and we will be sending you "postive thought waves". Need you in this group, so call them and tell them that you are needed in the Feb. group.
