  1. nope I even woke up on my left side must've rolled over during the night and no pain.. That was my biggest fear since I toss and turn all night..
  2. I've bought the sugar free kellog pudding, the carton says 6 grams carbs mixed with skim milk. Do I need to add the mild carbs calories etc.. into the equation? Just trying to keep an accurate count of calories and carbs thanks
  3. yup mines on the left side wonder why?
  4. is the port where the largest incision is? I'm not sure where mine is but I'm definitely more sore at the large incision.
  5. Congrats on the band I was banded on Wed 2/16 and feeling pretty darn good, I've walked everyday except when the rain got in the way. Of course I'm sore but bearable. I actually have taken the pain meds at night it's helped me sleep great. I'm hoping the soreness goes away soon I've got an important golf tourney coming up in a short time.... I played catch with my son today I was sore throwing but i was very very careful.....
  6. thanks I take fairly small sips and never had much of a problem. I'm still waiting for this darn gas to leave a little left today but I'd love for the rest to disappear. I've walked like crazy so i've never really experienced any of the uncomfortable pain others described.
  7. I didn't change anything for my Saturday night I had my beers and a decent dinner then back on to the diet a day and half before my surgery and all went well.
  8. Thanks I started my 20oz protein drink around 6:50 am I'll be done around 9:20 am..
  9. I'm supposed to be drinking 1oz per 15 mins which means 4oz in an hour why the heck should I take 5 hours to finish one 20oz ISOPURE I'm drinking it in more like one to two hours. Is this ok? FYI I'm two days post op
  10. I read it and took no offense at all I thank you very much for the support! With my walks and pain meds I'm feeling pretty darn good.
  11. thanks it's sooo hard to slowly sip !!!!!! I'm drinking the isopure clear protein 20oz first I started at 7am this morning and I'm sipping away.
  12. Congrats on the surgery I too was banded yesterday.
  13. I only did it for a couple of days I had a light lunch then splurged on a Sat. night I had beers and some jumbalya then a breakfast burrito on Sunday. I went on the diet the rest of Sunday and Monday then all clear on Tuesday and Surgery on Wed. no problems at all. I too was about the same BMI.
  14. Hope it goes well for you hang in there!
  15. Believe me I was there and I'm about as indecisive as they come. I hung in there and went through with it yesterday. Hang in there and you'll do well it's truly not that bad of an experience. I had terrific nurses that helped a great deal. We'll be thinking of ya!!!
  16. Not too bad an experience. The worst part was the first 10 minutes waking up from the anesthesia after that I felt ok. However, I will not it feels like I got run over by a freight train in my upper gut Sleeping was too bad either I sleep on my side and was able to sleep on just the right side and occasionally my back. How long does this soreness last? Does anyone think I can drive a car a short distance today I sort of need to. How bout your diet the first day after, broth jello etc correct. I know they've told me a hundred times but I'm that person that looks at you and doesn't hear you
  17. I got banded I'm tired as heck and pretty sore. It wasn't the worst experience but I'm moving pretty slow right now.. I'm having a very hard time keeping my throat moist without over drinking..
  18. I honestly don't know if I'd ever be 100%. My good friend who is also my personal Dr. Recommended this surgery as he's watched me yo yo on Atkins weight watchers nutri system over the past 14 years. I'm very very stocky so you honestly wouldn't think I need to lose 100lbs unless you saw me with my shirt off I'm just very scares at taking such a dramatic step.
  19. Oh man am I seriously questioning this decision. If you saw me you'd think I needed to lose about 20lbs. I'm very stocky but I weight 290 and should be about 180-190. No one in my family other then my mother is over weight. I've been up and down for the past 14 years. I have demons in my head that keep telling me I can do this on my own.. Man I hope I make it through tomorrow without canceling.
  20. Oh Man am I questioning this decision right now. I go in tomorrow morning I'm sipping on beef broth right now and just truly wondering if this is the right thing. I keep telling myself all you need to lose is 90-100 lbs you can do that by working out and staying disciplined this time. This seems like such a desperate step, no one other then my mother in my family is overweight. If you saw me you'd think I only needed to lose 20lbs but I'm at 290 and should be about 190 maybe even 180. I wish the demons in my head would shut up.
  21. Congrats on the successful surgery. I'm going in to Methodist Hospital on Wed. with Dr. Pherrson I'm still a little nervous and hope the pain isn't too bad I need to go bad to work by Tuesday. I'm looking forward to seeing how your progress goes!
  22. good luck I'm with ya. I go in on Wed for my surgery and I'm questioning this decision daily, hourly, by the minute. If you saw me you'd probably think I'm not a candidate but I've been 100lbs overweight on and off for fifteen years.
  23. Good luck to ya I'll be there in spirit !!!
  24. I've been told a million different things I was told I can eat up till about a day or two before then to go to liquids. I was also told I should do atleast 14 days of stage two. Since that's impossible because I was called last week and scheduled this week for surgery. We'll see what happens I slipped and had some drinks and a decent dinner on Sat. night. It was sort of a last hoorah out to watch the Dan Band and party. I go in on Wed. at 11:30 for surgery. I'm doing the soups and drinks today and tomorrow.
  25. any update from either of you, this Dr. came highly recommended to me. I was told he's a no non-sense doctor and very experienced.
