  1. What were your symptoms? How is this repaired? Is It a major surgery? Any info. Will be helpful. I am newly banded and everything I eat feels like it is stuck in the back of my throat. Fish, chicken Salad, scrambled eggs, avocados, etc. I have notified my doctor but I will call today and move my appointment to tomorrow instead of next week. I have felt this since day 3 of being banded. I am at 4 weeks today. I Told him and he did a barium and he said it was perfectly placed. How is a stricture diagnosed? Can you see this on a xray?
  2. I was recently banded but the first time mine came it was 6 days early and was brighter in color than I ever saw in my life and heavy.
  3. Thanks guys @54shirley that helps. He did tell me I am at zero fill but he could bring me to the negative on my band. I will revisit this at my appointment Tuesday.
  4. I asked that question the day of the surgery and at a check up regarding this issue He said no there is no fluid in the band. The band was checked under an xray and he said it was a perfect placement and let me take the photo. I tell u I am getting annoyed with this band.
  5. I have been having issues with feeling something in my throat after I eat. It could be I'm eating too much and if so that is scary. I never get through 1/2 cup of food. I am 4 weeks out. I never vomited, it could be I'm eating too fast. So today I drank something warm before eating my oatmeal. I may have gotten through 5 tiny spoons. For lunch I had less than 1/4 of baked fish. I took out my stop watch and took tiny bites and chewed till it disappeared then swallowed. Then I waited literally 3 minutes before I started again. Is this normal? How would I ever be able to get to the amount of intake I need by doing this. It took forever to eat that small amount. I have no fills. Please advise how u guys chew and take bites and will this ever change. This seems impossible to do all day everyday. PLEASE GIVE ME EXAMPLES OF WHAT NORMAL IS. I KNOW NOONE WIYH A BAND I CAN ASK THIS QUESTION.
  6. I bought a pill crusher and just crush and throw it back and take a swig of water. I bought a really expensive pill crusher that the pharmacist use. I am not really on meds, escept zyrtec sometimes but I wanted to be prepared so I bought it. Its called silent knight pill crusher.
  7. thanks reverie i will get some small utensils and drink warm drinks in the am. I will try to slow down. I do have a huge problem with that. Should I do something to reverse the irritation and stuck feeling i feel moving forward. I will go in to my doctor next week. Thanks
  8. thanks vlp1968 for your response. It is not truly something stuck. It feels like something is in my throat but nothing is there. It is this feeling i get after I have eaten. I feel it when i am finished eating not during. I was told my stoma is irritated from chewing to fast or eating too much. I have never thrown up or had a traditional stuck episode. I seem to be in this place and i do not know how to get out. I try to eat slow and chew well this is so difficult to me. Could that be the issue, that i am eating to fast and eating too much? Thanks
  9. I am newly banded. on may 13th it wil be a month. Well, today i got up and prepared 1/4 cup eggbeaters and shredded cheese. Lat night I decided that today i will take concious small bites and chew bites 3 minutes apart. I have no fill. I still get the stuck feeling that i was told happens when you chew to fast. Or eat too much. I didnt finish the 1/4 cup of eggbeaters. I do not know when im full. I still feel a slight stuck feeling in my throat like i ate to much or chewed too fast. When does this get better? Is this normal? I guess i will never get a fill because if i cant get 1/4 eggbeaters down i do not need more restriction. I have lost 14 pounds but i can care less about the weight loss. I am more concerned about the process of being able to get my nutients in. Yes, i spoke to my doctor he said i am eating to fast and not chewing enough. Can someone out there help me to get a better understanding of how the food passes from above the band through the band. How long does the process take? Does anyone have a video or can give me a time span on how long it takes one chewed bite to go through the band? Possibilities,1) maybe i am irritated from chewing to fast or eating too much in the past. 2)Maybe i cant get food to pass easily in the am. Although this happens in the afternoon as well. Lost on this journey.
  10. @ Trish151 I am just like u I advocate and research for myself. Yes it is overwhelming to try and figure out what's wrong but in the end You are your best doctor. Good for You.
  11. Never thought about that.
  12. Hey guys does anyone have info. Or a video showing what a banded person looks like on the inside when eating and swallowing. I am looking to see how long it takes the food to go into the stomach before going through the band. I hope this question makes sense.
  13. What is this procedure? Why would one need this?
  14. What is this procedure? Why would one need this?
  15. I am noticing stress causing some band related issues.
  16. I feel all of that. Great post.
  17. I have a booklet which was issued to me that says those foods should be avoided.
  18. Hope you guys get an answer and please come back and update your post. Thanks good luck
  19. Hey guys following up for others who may go through this. I went to the doc did a barium absolutely nothing wrong there. This is sensitivity to 1) moving to mushies, 2) eating mushies to quickly, or 3) still swollen from surgery. I am only 2 weeks out today. It could have been a combination of all. Anyone doc said it will pass and I am happy to say it has. All you will need to do is drink warm liquids. I did teas all day when I got back from doc and I don't feel that issue anymore.
  20. Scarpini kinda expensive but I heard great things about is. My order is in route.
  21. This saddens me. Please be ok. My heart hurts for you. I am cheering for you.
  22. Congratulations! One minute at a time.
  23. I am on muskies and had a stuck episode no pbing no vomiting, banded 4/13/11 some heartburn since the stuck mushie moved. I am gonna do clear liquids such as broth and Water assuming this will calm the area. Will this help and how long should I do clear liquids? I will get to my doctor after Monday when they reopen from Easter. Thanks
  24. I drank pineapple juice and within an hour it passed. Back to liquids to lessen irritation. I ate too fast..even though you feel good on the outside your insides may need more time. Atleast that is the moral of my story. Thanks guys
  25. Hey guys I decided to drink pineapple juice before bed and within an hour the feeling was gone. I think I was eating my mushies to fast. I also believe my insides may need more time to heal. Thanks for the support. I will go back to full liquids for a bit.
