  1. thanks for the responses, I actually didn't have much of a problem, a little "tight" but I think because it was chicken and ate a little too quickly!
  2. I know this has been addressed on other threads, I am flying tonight for a 7 hour trip, wanted to know if anyone experienced problems at all while flying?
  3. This post is very encouraging, I was banded on November 30 and while I have lost 30 lbs (10 pre-op and 20 post), I have really not lost anything in the last couple of months. I have only had one fill so far so I figure that is the reason, but I am self pay and the fills are fairly expensive. I plan to have another fill next month and a couple more in the next 2 months after that, so I hope to get some restriction after that. My husband thinks I am failing at this, and I had been thinking maybe that is true.
  4. Yea happens to me, too, I thought I was imagining it but maybe not...
  5. I was banded on 11/30, only a day later than you, and lost 10 lbs. pre-op and 20 post. I have been stuck at the same weight for about 6 weeks, have only had one fill so I am hoping with my next one I will get more restriction. I am frustrated as well but I think that's my own fault. I really haven't been exercising with any regularity and not sticking to the plan, so I am resolving to start over and get with the program.
  6. I am here! I too have been having some problems, haven't lost anything in weeks, but down 30 lbs. so that is good. Just had my first fill yesterday, hoping that will give me a little restriction. I do need to start exercising, just doing it sporadically now so need to get a program and stick to it. Zumba looks like a lot of fun, more dancing than really exercising, so I may try to get into a class somewhere - keep up the good work!
  7. Just had my first fill also today, wondering how long did your doctor say to keep on liquids? My doctor said 3 days of liquids then can go back to regular meals.
  8. Just had my first fill today and no big deal at all, first the numbing which was the worst part of it, and that was only like a pin prick. Didn't even feel the larger needle at all - easy peasy!
  9. I am 8 weeks out, lost 30 lbs but nothing in the past month or so. Have not had a fill yet so I am looking forward to getting some restriction. I was very discouraged but hopefully that will change soon. And Melzie, your husband should love you unconditionally. Lose the weight for yourself, not anyone else. And if he can't accept you the way you are, maybe you would be better off without him. Hang in there!
  10. Yes, and then when starting on solid foods, you can have the opposite problem, be sure to keep some Benefiber handy
  11. I was banded the same day as you, lost 10 lbs pre-op, 15 post op, and nothing in the last 2 weeks also. I am probably eating more than I should be, have not scheduled a fill yet but can't wait til I do.
  12. Great job! My scale hasn't moved in a couple of weeks, a little discouraged, but have not had a fill yet. Hopefully I can schedule one soon.
  13. I've lost an average 2 year old - an elephant's penis to go!!! OOps make that an Irish Setter and change.
  14. This is the one thing that really scares me, I am only 3 weeks post op so no loss yet. My hair is very thin to begin with, I don't need to lose any more! Does the hair grow back? I am taking Biotin but told that is no guarantee I won't lose hair.
  15. I had a small drink the other night at a Christmas party, and am only a little over 2 weeks post-op. I am not a big drinker so only had the one small drink. Didn't seem to affect me much thankfully. Won't be drinking again tho for a couple of months. Wanted to ask, can we drink a beer now and then after we are on full solids?
  16. My problem is that when I crush my pills into my food, all I taste are the pills, yuck. I tried with cream of wheat, pudding, applesauce but can't stand the flavor. Can't wait til I don't have to crush pills anymore.
  17. Good luck, you'll do great!
  18. Great job! You must be so happy! 21 more lbs for me to go
  19. The first week I lost about 13 lbs. This week I have only lost maybe 3 lbs., even tho I am still on full liquids. So things have slowed down considerably. I am hoping that with my first fill, I will begin losing again.
  20. I had clear liquids first week, full liquids second, and then mushies 3rd week. I am still in the full liquids stage and not too hungry, but can't wait til mushies! Right now I can have cream of wheat, yogurt, no sugar pudding, and protein drinks. Can't wait til Tuesday when I can have an egg, tuna, and soft cheese ...
  21. I had my surgery on 11/30. Went back to work yesterday, most of the pain is gone but a little tired. I also had a mini-breakdown on day 5, woke up in a panic and thought what have I done! I can't do it! But that feeling soon passed. I feel so much better now, and have lost 18 lbs!
  22. Well Said, good luck on your journey!
  23. Only clear liquids for one week, then full liquids next week, 3rd week start on "mushies". I am just transitioning to full liquids at week 2 now.
