9lbs since 7/15 is awesome!! You are doing a great job! I went for a fill last week and they were pleased with my progress so far (way more that I was) The dr told me that some people wish to have lost this much (over 50lbs) in a year. I was banded 12/9/2010. Keep up the good work!
  2. Thanks for Sharing!! Sometimes we need to reevaluate things and you put it very well!! Good luck to you!

I think that if we deny ourselves then we are setting ourselves up for failure. At least you recognize that you have to get back on track and it seems you know the right way to do it. Don't beat yourself up too bad.

I totally understand what you are going through. It may be a good idea to step away from the scale for a while. Thats what I did. Not seeing the scale made me work harder to make sure the number was lower when I did see it again. You are doing a great job!!
  5. great post Shonette! Thanks for sharing. I just had a fill last week which brought me up to 6cc's. I never thought I would need that much. I think I'm pretty much in the green zone now. The band is not a cure all...I have to do some work too. I'm glad you are feeling better! Sounds like you were going thru h***!!
  6. Like Shonette said, you are in the early stages. When i was at that stage, I thought I should be further along. But I realized that I needed that time to learn new habits and get adjusted to having the band. Some people lose at a fast pace, some don't. I think I'm one that doesnt. I was banded 12/9/10 and I have lost 54lbs. My expectation was at least 10lbs per month. BUT, I have adopted healthier eating habits, eat much less, enjoy working out and can fit a size 14 pants and large shirt. All the things I just mentioned are lifestyle changes, not quick fixes. We are in this for the long haul so as hard as it may be, try to stop focusing so much on the scale. I did it too and it drove me nuts!! hang in there and GOOD LUCK!!

The scale is the enemy sometimes! But I have to realize that it's not the only indicator of success. I have to tell my daughter to hide it from me sometimes... Good Luck to you!

Thanks for the advice Kelly! I will definitely keep that in mind!
  12. Sending healing vibes your way for a speedy recovery!
  13. I agree with everything you said. Getting a lapband is not something that should be taken lightly. I don't think I would have made this choice if I had researched it more so I definitely understand what you are saying. I hope things get better for you *HUGS*

Went to my favorite store (CATO) last week and bought some size 14 jean capris! Tried them on and they fit well...not to tight. After wearing them they loosened up alot! I cant believe it...SIZE 14!!! I also bought a blouse....large! It feels wonderful!! I have an appointment on Friday for another fill. I'm thinking I may not need one. I'm worried about being overfilled. Nothing gets stuck and I stay satisfied after eating for about 4 hours. Right now I have 5.75cc in my band. The hunger pains died down after the last fill. It didnt seem that way at first but about 2 weeks later I started feeling like my band had gotten tighter. I got on the scale this morning and it read 237!! 54lbs lost!! I'm still keeping up with my 4 workouts a week....I feel guilty if I don't go to the gym...I'm loving the way my body is changing for the better!
  15. FYI...I added everyone on this thread!! slimndiva (myfitnesspal)
  16. I just joined this week. I'm slimndiva!
  17. Congrats!! Good Luck!
  18. Good for you!! I might be best to stay away from the scale for a few days....especially wth weight training. You will soon see a difference in your clothes and endurance. Keep it up! Good luck!

Tomorrow will be better. Hang in there. It's hard when you still have the hunger. I was banded with nothing in my band so I'm getting getting to the point that my hunger is leaving. (was banded on 12/9/10) this doesnt mean that it will take you that long. I had to keep reminding myself that once I do get the restriction I need I dont want to start all over again losing the weight that I gained after banding. You have been doing a great job getting more active. After years of a sendentary lifestyle, it took a while for me to get back into fitness, but I did and I love it! You will too! Good luck!

Hello all...lately I have been having trouble being a good bander on the weekends (alcohol, food, exercise) but I was determined to change that. I'm proud to say that although my TOM hit over the weekend, I still lost! I'm officially in another decade. 230's! It has been years since I have seen a 2 and a 3 preceding the last digit! I weighed in at 239.2 this morning. I walked around the lake on Friday morning (before it got too hot! I'm in the south) which completed my 4 workouts for the week. AND I went to body step class yesterday afternoon so I'm already one workout behind me for the week! Plus for the entire weekend I got in my water and took my supplements. I'm pretty sure I ate much less that I should have. I have heard ladies say that during TOM they have more restriction...well I find that to be true. Saturday morning I cooked steak, eggs and grits. The steak got stuck! Never had a stuck episode like that before, needless to say, I didn't try anymore. I really thought I was going to throw up! After that, I just wasn't hungry. Didnt even think about food. I like that feeling!! I hope to keep this downward trend going....soon I will be seeing a 2 and another 2 before the last number! Woohoo!!!
  23. sometimes a little shake up is what we need to get things moving again. Congrats!
  24. You look awesome Annie! Congrats!
