December 2010 Bandsters out there?
I was banded 12/9/10 and I'm having similar issues. I have been back and forth with the same 2-3lbs for 3 weeks. I decided to take a closer inventory of my behavior today. I started a journal and I'm going to track my carbs, calories and protein. I know I'm not getting the recommended protein. Exercise is not a problem for me. I workout 4 days a week doing a variety of stuff: Zumba, kickboxing, weight training and step. I'm losing inches because my clothes are getting way to big, but the scale is NOT moving! I'm currently in a size 16 (no W) and I used to wear a 22w. I'm determined not to give up! I'm going back for a fill this week, since surgery I have not had any restriction at all. Everything I have done up to this point has been willpower. I have 5cc's in a 10cc band. I'm hoping my next fill will get me back to where I need to be. Good luck December Bandsters!

One day from Graduation
You are doing great! Congratulations!

I need some advise please
Maybe you should go back and have the doctor put a little more in. Not to the point where you are having problems. Going back to a cup per meal could get the scale moving again. Good luck to you!

XL?
Good morning everyone! So yesterday I decided to get some new work clothes for two reasons. One-my old ones were getting saggy and two-the weather is changing. Off I go to my favorite store.....Cato. If anyone is familiar with Cato, you know they have the store split into two sides. Plus size and "regular" size. Of course I make a beeline for the Plus section. I saw some nice things, but all the sizes were too large. I'm thinking to myself, they have sold out of all the smaller sizes. I see this skirt I liked and asked the saleslady if they had anymore. She said "well, there are few more left on the other side" The other side? Off I go to the other side. To my surprise I could fit XL!!! No "W" on the end of it. And, it's not tight or inappropriate looking. I have on the skirt now that I bought there. XL? I have lost over 40lbs (which may not seem like much) and I had surgery 12/9/2010. But, I go to the gym 4 days a week for an hour each time. I'm taking step, weight training, kickboxing and Zumba classes. I have lost lots of inches. But XL? No one else can understand what we go through but others that have been through the same things we have. Our bodies change, we lose weight, but we still think that we are heavier than we are. Just think, I was on the plus side thinking they had ran out of smaller sizes, when I was just in the wrong section. My 10cc band it at 4.5cc now. I go this morning for another fill and I'm hoping that will give me the restriction that I need. Right now, I have none. I can feel a little first thing in the monring, but for the most part, I eat what I want. I think the fact that I have been exercising has kept me from gaining. Granted I eat far less than I used to, but I could do better. Well, thanks for listening and GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

4 months out
This is my first blog entry and it's been a little over four months since surgery. (12/9/10) A little about myself....I'm 38 years with two children. I have a very supportive boyfriend that I have been with for about 3 years now. I have been overweight all my life except for the times I dieted and lost some. Of course those pounds always came back with more. I made the decision to do lapband when the doctor threatened to put me on cholesterol meds in addition to the BP meds I was taking. I felt i was too young to be on daily meds for the rest of my life. To date I have lost exactly 40lbs. I wished it was more. The surgeon didnt put any fluid in at the time of surgery. My first visit in January, I got a 1.5cc fill (10cc band) in February I got a .75 fill. Last month in March, since I had gained 7lbs since february, she gave me at 2.25cc fill, which now brings me to 4.5cc. I still have no restriction. I go back next week and hopefully I will get a fill and get some restriction. Up until now, my weight loss as been from regular ole diet and exercising. I work out four times a week an hour each time. I could have done this without the band right? In my mind I'm thinking that when I do FINALLY get some restriction I will continue to lose weight hopefully at a faster rate. We will see I guess. But on a happier note, I feel much better, look better and feel alot better about myself. I started in a size 22w, now I can get in regular 18's (no W) and they could be tighter. I'm thinking I probably between a 16 and 18. Progess? Yes. Slower than I thought? Yes. Happy? Definitely!! Thanks for reading! Be back soon with updates!

Stuck
Prinny, I'm having the same issue. I'm a little over three months out and the scale just wont move for me. I eat right, exercise and get my water. Last week I decided that I was becoming a scale whore and I needed to focus on other things. I got my boyfriend to hide the scale and I started really focusing on what I was putting in my mouth. I realized my carbs were way to high and my protein too low. I changed that. I also took my measurements, I will take them again next month. Another thing I had to change was my way of thinking. If I focus just on the numbers on the scale I will get frustrated and discouraged. This is a lifestyle change for us, not a quick fix. I had to realize that. I think I had a idea in my head that after surgery the weight would just start falling off, it didnt. But I'm going to continue eating right, excercising and working on my lifestyle change. You can do it to. Just keep on doing what you are doing and the scale will start back moving again. Good luck to you!

12weeks and 1st fill
Congratulations!

How many cc's do you get at each fill?
I was banded 12/9/2010 and there wasn't any fluid put in at the time of surgery. I had my first fill on 1/19 (1.5cc) and another yesterday (.75cc) I was expecting it to be more. Just wondering if any of you got bigger fill amounts than that.

Frustrated!
I had surgery 12/9, everything went fine, not much pain afterwards, back to work full time in less than two weeks. I was losing steadily after surgery, but then it stopped. I kept on watching what I ate and began exercisng. The scale started moving again, but now it's stopped again. Dont get me wrong, I'm happy about my losses thus far, but it's very frustrating when I'm making an effor to work out (4 days a week) watch what I eat and the scale NOT move! I have only had one fill (1.5cc) so I know by reading everyone elses experiences that it will get better once I get more fills. Also, I have started doing body pump (weights) one day a week so that could be a contributing factor. I know that I have made some changes in my life by just having a different outlook. I don't eat nearly as much as I used to and I now look at exercise as a part of my life instead of something to do for a few months. I still plan to keep exercising and watch what I eat but I just wanted to say it out loud...I'M FRUSTRATED!!! Thanks for listening!!

My lap band size
My doctor told me that the 11cc band is the standard size, which is what I have. I have the Lapband.
