Chris NJ, Are you self pay ? I was self pay and went to Mexico where I did not have to do all that mumbo jumbo before my band. I just went a day before surgery for blood work and a check up. I think that how the Dr's here in the USA make more money.

Hello, I found this at walmart, and its yummy..:biggrin1: its called (Advant Edge Soy Protein 20g protein ) I got the vanilla flavor and its great tasting . I like to mix it with my Atkins Advantage shake (15g protein)in vanilla or the chocolate Royal shake, great combo. Its filling too.:hungry:

I'm doing good, and my cold is 99% gone. Last night I had some sharp pain in my port hole that woke me up at 1:00am. I got up and moved around a little then went back to bed, I think it was gas build up, because after a few good farts :guess it was gone and I went back to sleep..(It felt like a red hot poker) Has eny body had this happen to them? Other then that my scare are getting healed great and the belly hair is coming back nicely:rolleyes:

I was banded 1/31/07 by Dr. Kuri, he was great and so was his team:clap2: . Today is 2/12/07 and my scares are 99% healed..No real pain there was a little gas pain now and then but you have to walk ASAP, and that to shall pass:guess .You and your daughter are going to the right place, and have one of the best Dr.s around..Good Luck to you both, say Hi for me:) Ted ( rsbg1 )

:phanvan hey guys, how long does port pain last. Mine just started yesterday , ( if I get up fast or sit too fast or walk too long) but not very much, but it lets me know its there sometimes. My scars are healing just great, almost no red to them, not bad for 9 days out.

Let me tell you Jack ! you didn't miss a thing!!!! Nobody told me they were going to do that to me (and others ) during the banding.. and when I got back to my room I asked to have it removed, it seemed that the only English the nurse knew was sorry as she RIPED that thing out :think:faint:

I was banded last week in TJ Mexico (Wed), by Dr. Kuri $8,000 and free fills pick up and drop off at airport, Hotel for 1 to more nights ( for two) and my wife was able to stay at NO charge with me at the hospital..Oh the hospital in brand new too...I would do it all over again in a hart beat...I was thinking about 1st going to Thailand is about the same coast but thinking of that 15hr. plane ride back didn't sound fun..

What paper panties???? I got no such things when I went, I just got a catheter, that I really DID NOT WANT ! woke up after and suprise suprise suprise:omg: :faint:there it was. Wish I had them panties instead!:tired

JBT, Some Dr's will do the banding with out shaving, I just shaved to play it safe. One guy that had a different Dr. then me, didn't have his done and he had a lot of hair..

Hi, I'm a self pay and just got my band last Wed in TJ Mexico. My bill was around $8,500 that's for, Dr. fee, hospital stay, and hotel stay for after or before, pick up at airport etc. Dr. Kuri's one of the best lap band Dr.'s around. check out his web sight at belightweight.com or call 1 800 215-6497 one of his staff can answer all your questions ( they have had the band too) good luck Ted

Hey Mike, and who ever wants to know, I just found out how to do the ticker:clap2:...First go to tickerfactory.com and fill out the info the when your done, don't click on HTML box's just right click on the actual ticker that you did and hit copy. Go back here to LBT and go to edit signature page then right click in the message box and click post. This worked for me as you can see......:biggrin1:

Hi all, I was banded on 1/31/07 in TJ Mexico, and feel great !!! I realy had no real pain just gas pain, but that passed:guess lol..The key was to walk walk walk.. P.S watch out for the port pain..:paranoid

Hi all, Well it's been exactly one week since I got my band !!:clap2: I'm healing real good and fast. I don't have the coverings on my holes, they fell off but they look great. The little bruising that I do have is going away fast. But now I have a cold again , this time its chest cold..oh well this to shall pass..

Hey Terry R , I just had my banding last Wed. in Mexico, my wife came along with me and I thought it was very nice to have her there. We had a great time together, we went shopping and had a great Mexican dinner before the surgery..So yes, take her !! Its nice to have someone there if you can. P.S at the hospital in TJ Mexico there was no extra charge for my wife to stay(two nights), or at the hotel they put us up at the day after surgery..

Hi Maxdog, I'm no expert, but from what my Dr. said, and what I have heard , it sounds like you do need a fill...I just got my band last Wed. and my Dr. was telling me about fills and when to get them. He said 4 to 6 weeks after banding or longer for some people, but he also said that there are times and for some people, it is closer to the 4wks because of just your prob..Good Luck , Ted

Ok , Yesterday am I had my first BM, then later I went again this time it was soft not like water, no big deal. I went about 5 times yesterday..OK I know what your thinking, that I'm just full of chit. Today its starting again I went 3 times this morning..Is this normal ????? Ted
